John Behm, 77 years old, is dead at
his home at Bergholtz, four miles
north of the Tonawandas. He was a
veteran of the Franco-Prussian War of
1870 and took keen interest in the present
combat between his native country,
Germany, and the allies. He-had
been heard to remark frequently since
the war broke out that he would return
to Germany and take up arms
again if he was young enough. He had
lived at Bergholtz for over 30 years.
The deceased is survived by three sons
William Behm of Niagara Falls, Albert
Behm of Bergholtz and John Behm,
Jr., of Lockport, and two daughters,
Mrs. John Schmidt of North Tonawanda
and Mrs. William Winters of Niagara
Falls. The funeral will be held
tomorrow afternoon at 1:30 o'clock
from the late residence and half an
hour later at the Bergholtz Lutheran
church, Rev. Stark officiating. Burial
will take place at Bergholtz.

Former Falls Woman Passes at 84, Resided on Frontier 69 Years
NORTH TONAWANDA - Funeral services were conducted yesterday for Mrs. Fredericka Becker, 86, who died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Gelz, 29 Poultney Avenue, Buffalo. The rites were held at the Gelz residence at noon and at the Holy Ghost church in Bergholz at one o'clock. The Rev. John Kuckenbecker officiated. Interment was in Holy Ghost. Mrs. Becker was born in Germany. She came to the Niagara frontier from her native land 60 years ago, and continued her residence in this area the rest of her life. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Gelz, and Mrs. Lena Coffrey of Buffalo, three sons, Richard and Edward of Niagara Falls, and Charles of Pekin, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

Long Illness Fatal to Bergholz Native, Resident Here 33 Years
William L. Behm, 1546 North avenue, died at his home Saturday night, after a long illness. He was 57 years old and had lived ln Niagara Falls for the past 33 years. Mr. Behm was a native of Bergholz. He was employed for 26 years at the plant of the Carborundum company. He is survived by his wife, Mrs, Bertha Behm; one son, William Behm, and three daughters. Bertha, Gertrude and Eleanor Behm, all of this city, and two brothers, Albert Behm, of this city, and John Behm, of Lockport. The funeral will be held from the family home at 2 p.m. tomorrow, with services at Trinity Lutheran church at 2:30 p; m., the Rev. M. C. Kreizmann officiating. Burial will be in Riverdale cemetery.

LOCKPORT - Hubert A. Werth, 86, of 230 Price St., a retired farmer who had raised nine children and had 26 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren, died Monday afternoon (Aug. 3, 1959) at a local nursing home following a long illness. A widower twice, he had married three times. He retired from a Town of Lockport fruit farm in 1946 after working there since 1907 and worked part-time. at a local cold storage firm "until seven years ago. Richard Becken, 68, of 1520 Whitney avenue, died late yesterday at his home following a long illness. Funeral services for Mr. Becken will be held at the Otto F. GETZVILLE — Alvin G. Human, age 88, of Getzville, formerly of North Tonawanda, Mayville, NY, and Key Colony Beach, FL, April 24, 2013, at his home. Mr. Human retired as an Executive Vice President of Sierra Research in 1984. He had also worked for the Wurlitzer Co., American Machine and Foundry, and Bell Aircraft. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating.

He was the husband of the late Loraine M. Human, who died in 1996. Beloved father of Jeffrey A. (Nancy) Human of Amherst and Joyce (Richard) Webber of Olathe, KS. Grandfather of Carolyn and Gregory (fiancÈ Laura Cross) Human and Karen and Timothy Webber. Brother of Bernice Human of Amherst; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Esther R. Stange , a retired Niagara Savings and Loan employee, died Wednesday (July 12, 2000) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. She was 87.
Born Esther Behnke in Cambria, she graduated from Lockport High School and worked at Buffalo Bolt for several years as a bookkeeper. She retired in 1978 from Niagara Savings and Loan in North Tonawanda.
Mrs. Stange was a member of the Altar Society of St. John Lutheran Church of Wheatfield, where she helped with the school lunch program. She also was active with the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the St. Johnsburg Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and was an elections inspector.
Her husband, Norman, died in 1961.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma Wallace of Jackson, Tenn.; a son, Douglas of Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. John Church, Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road, Wheatfield. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Edward R. Behnke, 74, of Ridge Road, a mechanical engineer at Columbus McKinnon Corp. in Amherst, died Friday (July 2, 1999) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness. Behnke, who was known as Ted, was born in Cambria. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Buffalo, where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi, an engineering honor society. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he served on several boards.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lillian "Skip" Strablow; three daughters, Gail Dugue of Raleigh, N.C., Barbara of Niagara Falls and Kim Bigelow of Cary, N.C.; a sister, Esther Stange of Sanborn; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hamilton & Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young St., Wilson. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Cambria.

Obituary of Shirley Richardson

Shirley H. Richardson entered into rest November 5, 2016 after a long illness.

Born in Lockport, NY, she was the daughter of Rudolph and Viola (Urtel) Heiman.

Shirley was predeceased by her husbands, Jerry Martin (1954) and Philip Richardson (1980). She was also predeceased by her brothers, Wallace and Norman Heiman, and her sister, Verna Liskoff, all of Lockport; and her dear aunt, Eloise "Cookie" Rutland of Lockport and Leesburg, FLA.

A graduate of Lockport High School, Shirley went on to study business at the University of Buffalo. She was employed at Bell & Howell in Chicago and later at the Upson Co. in Lockport. She left her job at Upson Co. in 1962 to raise her family, while gaining expertise in portfolio investment.

Shirley enjoyed golf, bowling, playing cards with her friends, going on outings with the Red Hat Society and Newfane Seniors, and was a member of Club 60 throughout the 1960s and 70s. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she also volunteered at Lockport Memorial Hospital, where she was a member of the Guild, and The Salvation Army.

She is survived by her son, Chuck Richardson; daughter, Linda Michael of Bowling Green, KY; three grandchildren, Tyler J. Michael of Williamsville, Lindsey Bendel and Brittany Michael of Bowling Green, KY; and one great-grandchild, Dylan J. Michael-Robb of Williamsville. Shirley is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

LEWISTON — Russell E. Urtel, age 89, of the Town of Cambria, entered into rest on Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston. Born May 21, 1922 in Wilson, Russ was the son of the late Edward L. and Mabel I. (Rohring) Urtel.

He married Dorothy (Flagler) Urtel June 20, 1942, at Exley United Methodist Church of Wilson. Dorothy died December 1, 1993. A WWII Veteran, Russ served from 1943 until 1945. He was in the European Theatre of operation in the 113th Mechanized Cavalry and as a truck driver on the Red Ball Express for the 3888 Quartermaster Truck Company. While in the service he traveled to 11 different countries. He had worked at General Motors Chevrolet Plant in Tonawanda as a Quality Analyst and Inspection Supervisor, retiring in 1987 after 47 years. Russ enjoyed spending time with his family and working on his farm. Russ was a member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of North Ridge, past member of the Wilson VFW and past member of the American Legion. He also was a member of the Chevrolet Retiree Club. Russ enjoyed going to the Newfane Golden Agers and deer hunting. He had lived in Cambria the past 67 years; previously of Wilson.

Russ is survived by his children, William R. (Shirley) Urtel of Lockport, Rosemary (Michael) Bohlman of Ripley, Thomas E. Urtel of Florida, Barbara (Lance) Cronshaw of Newfane, Sharon (Sean) Healy of Wilson and the late Robert J. Urtel. Brother of Harold “Dolly” Urtel of Middleport, Helen Bye of Newfane, Elton “Bob” (Phyllis) Urtel of North Tonawanda, Hazel (Robert) Walker of Olcott and the late Delilah Grzybowski and Lawrence Urtel. Eleven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and dear friend, Beatrice Zastrow survive him. A grandchild, Amy Raynor, predeceased Russell.

RANSOMVILLE — Delilah (Urtel) Grzybowski, age 85, of Ransomville, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, October 17, 2010 in the Eastern Niagara Hospital in Newfane, after a brief illness.

Delilah was born June 4, 1925 in Wilson, the eldest daughter of the late Edward and Mabel (Rohring) Urtel. She attended a one room school house on Chestnut Rd. in Wilson where she excelled, especially in spelling, and had won the Buffalo Evening News Spelling Bee. Delilah graduated from Wilson High School in 1942 at age 16, the first in her family to do so. She then attended business school where she earned her comptometer license. Delilah married Max J. Grzybowski on June 24, 1950. Max predeceased her on March 11, 1987. She was employed in the payroll office at Harrison Radiator in the 1950’s until she left to raise her family, and was a Niagara County Election Inspector for 45 years.

Delilah enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening and was heavily involved with local 4H Programs with her daughters in the 60’s and 70’s. She was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at North Ridge, St. Peter’s Ladies Aide Society, the Wilson Lakeshore Mother’s Club and the Ransomville Rural Retirees. Delilah loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly and was so very proud of. She never missed a play, dance recital, concert or graduation ceremony, and attended as many sports events as time would allow.

She is survived by her four daughters, Mary Jo (Kenneth) Higginbotham of Santa Clarita, CA, Janice (James) Sievert and Maxanne (Bill) Rees, both of Wilson, and Gretchen (Leo) Fournier of Ransomville; her grandchildren, Scott and Michelle Higginbotham, Joe and Jackie Sievert, Mercedees, Trey and Quinn Rees, Cooper, Logan and Bailey Fournier; her great-grandchildren, Shaianne Higginbotham, Serena Gelfman and Jaden Higginbotham. She was the beloved sister of Harold Urtel, Russell (Dorothy) Urtel, Helen (William) Bye, Elton "Bob" (Phyllis) Urtel, Hazel (Robert) Walker and the late Lawrence (Ann) Urtel. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Hazel graduated from Wilson High School. She married Robert Walker on April 12, 1952 at St. Peters Lutheran Church. Owner of Flora Hatch, an elegant apparel store which operated in both Lockport and Williamsville for over 50 years, Hazel brought her sense of style and fashion to her many loyal customers. Hazel was a former member of Zonta, DLBA, Habitat for Humanity, Concordia Lutheran Church and Lockport Town and Country Club. Hazel enjoyed spending time golfing, (hole in one at Lockport Country Club), extensive travel, entertaining, gardening, skiing and boating.

Hazel is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert; a son, James Walker; daughters, Jayne (Doug) Lloyd and Jody Siddall; grandsons, Barrett Lloyd and Parker Siddall. Hazel was predeceased by her granddaughter, Paige Siddall; sister to Elton Urtel, Dolly Urtel, Helen Bye and the late Russell Urtel, Delilah Grzybowski and Lawrence Urtel. CAMBRIA -- Violet A. Steingasser, formerly of Wheatfield, died Wednesday in her granddaughter's home after an illness of five months. She was 90.
Born Violet Becken in Lewiston, she attended local schools.
Mrs. Steingasser was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, and her hobbies included gardening, crafts, sewing and traveling.
Her husband of 49 years, Jacob L., died in 1986.
Survivors include three daughters, Carol Shafer of Newport, TN., Judith Toellner of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Joyce Schmidt of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, Larry of Sanborn and Robert of Wheatfield; a sister, Jean Walck of Sanborn; a brother, Carl Becken of Sanborn; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Dubois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst.

Harold C. Becken, 80, of Upper Mountain Road died Sunday (July 26, 1998) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a short illness.
Becken, a lifelong Cambria resident, worked briefly at the former Wurlitzer Co. in North Tonawanda and then became a truck driver for the state Department of Transportation, working mostly out of its Lockport garage. He retired in 1980.
Becken also operated a fruit farm on Upper Mountain Road and a fruit stand at the Clinton-Bailey Market in Buffalo. He was a member of the Niagara County Farm Bureau.
Becken was a longtime member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Pekin.
His wife, the former Lillian Scheffler, died in 1966.
Survivors include a dear friend, Lillian Strothmann; two brothers, Chester of Lockport and Carl of Lewiston; and two sisters, Violet Steingasser of Wheatfield and Jean Walck.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 3229 Upper Mountain Road, Pekin. Burial will be in White Chapel.

ed Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock
in the Cambria Center Congrega-

Vassar, of Niagara Falls, officiating.
The bride, given in marriage
her father, was attractive in a
white satin .gown with long sleeves
puffed at the shoulder and an oval
shape neckline and blossoms cen-
tered with pearls. A lace cap with
a halo of pearls and orange blos-
soms, held a finger-tip veil. The
bride carried an arm bouquet of
white roses, sweet peas, gysphilia
and baby's breath, tied with white
satin ribbons.
The maid of honor, Miss Beth
Donaldson, cousin of the bride, wore
a dusty rose taffeta gown with
short puffed sleeves and crystal
centered buttons the length of the
gown in front, and a full skirt Her
headdress was of silver, with cry-
tal stones. A Juliet cap and
slippers finished her costume.
Pink talisman roses with fern
gypsonlla and sweet peas made
lovely arm bouquet which was tied
with a silver ribbon.
The Bridesmaid, Mrs. Pearl De-
myer, wore a gown of medium
mousseline de sol, with short puffed
sleeves, a high neckline with silver
buttons from the collar to the
waistline and a full skirt. She wore
a Juliet cap and silver slipper. Her
bouquet consisted of yellow roses
with sweet peas, ferns and gypsonilla.
The bridegroom, the best man,
Glenn Brick, Groomsman Kenneth
Dlrmyer and Ushers Chester Becken
and Arthur Brick. Jr., wore
suits with dark ties and white rose
boutonnlers.
Immediately following the cere-
mony the immediate families, the
Rev. and Mrs. Vassar and the bridal
party left for Rldgewood where the
wedding- dinner was served at
Maplebrook Manor. The bride's gift
to her attendants consisted of com-
pacts and linen handkerchiefs. The
groom's gifts to his attendants were
gold tie clasps.
Mr. and Mrs. Becken left for a
trip to the Adirondack rnountains.

Carl R. Becken, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at his home. He was born in the Town of Cambria on December 10, 1924, the son of the late Charles and Alma (Kruger) Becken.
Mr. Becken served with the Merchant Marines during World War II. He was a welder at Simonds Saw & Steel in Lockport for 28 years and then with Niagara Specialty Metals in Akron for over 14 years. Mr. Becken owned and operated his family farm. He enjoyed going to the Clinton-Bailey Market, to sell his grapes and was a member of the Farm Bureau.
Mr. Becken was the husband of 67 years to the late Gertrude M. (Eckert) Becken, who died in April of this year. He is survived by three sons, Ronald C. (Elaine) Becken of Sanborn, Richard C. (Diane) Becken of the Town of Wheatfield and Randy C. (Denise) Becken of Sanborn; one daughter, Cheryl L. (Gerald) Wilburn of Cottondale, AL; one sister, Jean Walck. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Becken was the brother of the late Ervin, Harold and Chester Becken and Violet Steingasser.
The family will be present on Sunday from 6-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. James M. Behm passed away on February 27, 2014 in Buffalo General Medical Center. Born in Lockport on January 31, 1947, he was the son of Harold and Lucy (Napoli) Behm.
James graduated from DeSales Catholic High School Class of 1965 and served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968. He worked in quality control for Delphi for 42 years retiring in 2007. James enjoyed riding motorcycle and boating and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and being the Memorial Day Picnic Cook.
James is survived by his wife of 45 years, Catherine (Fura) Behm of Burt; father of Eric Behm of Burt and Kevin Behm of Buffalo; brother of Joseph (Vilma) Behm of Coventry, CT; brother-in-law of Mary Ann Quintana, Bill (Cathy) Fura, Ed Fura, John (Jean) Fura, Nellie Haseley, Agnes Townsend, and Christine Fura. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Zeke served in the U.S. Navy from January 29, 1943 to February 19, 1946, also serving in the Naval Reserves for over 30 years. Zeke received his BA Degree in 1948 from the University of Buffalo in physical education. He received his BS Degree in 1950 from the University of Buffalo in secondary school administration. He received his Masters from Buffalo State in elementary education, and in 1967 received his PhD from Syracuse University. Father of Carole Mosher of Prairie Village, KS, Bryan J. (Jenn) Mosher of Vinton, VA and the late Sandra Mosher Gaza. Also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Zeke was also the former husband of EmmaJean Wilson and Clara Perdue.Dad was a great sportsman having played and coached basketball, football and golf. He traveled the world after his retirement and enjoyed the distinction of having visited every continent including Antarctica. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. LOCKPORT - Roberta (Bertie) Mansfield passed away, suddenly, on June 17, 2014. Born January 15, 1932, she was the daughter of Robert C. and Cordula Mosher. She married Donald (Bud) Mansfield in 1954 in Lockport, celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on May 15th. She was a true housewife, mother and grandmother, a lifelong resident of Lockport and a graduate of Lockport High School in 1949.

Survived by husband, Donald; daughter, Donna Sue; son, Eric Russell (wife, Karen Cain); son, Toby Will (wife, Kim Thompson) and three grandchildren, Scott, Samuel and Sean Mansfield.

Roberta volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels, serving as interim coordinator and a board member for 30 years. Former Lockport Lions and Lambs and 4-H Club leader, volunteer and program director in 1974. Her children were very involved in 4-H. She enjoyed embroidery, watching her neighbors organic farm herd coming and going from the barns and grazing in the front lawn, making cookies for her grandchildren, chocolate cake for her children and making family spaghetti dinner that was even had as a Thanksgiving meal one year.

Services were private for the family. Memorials in her name can be sent to Mercy Flight.

GAINESVILLE, FL - Russell Wayne Thilkey, age 73, entered into eternal peace, January 10, 2011 in Gainesville, FL. Born February 12, 1937, he was the son of the late Frank Harold Thilkey and Edith Agnes Werth and was raised on Sunset Drive in Lockport, NY. Russell married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Elizabeth Mellenthien on March 10, 1956.

Russ graduated from Lockport Senior High School in 1954. He was a retired steel worker at Gueteral Steel, formerly Simonds Saw and Steel of Lockport, NY. He and his wife, Joyce relocated to Gainesville, FL, 25 years prior to his passing. Russ was an avid N-Gauge train collector and enjoyed spending time reading and the warmth of the Florida sun.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, partner and friend of 54 years; his children, Deborah (John) Hite of Aurora, CO, Frank (Lisa) Thilkey of East Amherst, Brenda (Steve) Hernandez of Aurora, CO, Wayne (Robin) Thilkey of Aylett, VA and the late Rebecca Thilkey; his loving grandchildren, Bliss, Joelle, Ashley and Blake Thilkey; and sister, Audrey Piparata of East Syracuse, and was predeceased by Pearl Barron-Broecker.

of Leete Rd., who died Friday
(Dec. 28. 1956) in Lockport Memorial
Hospital- of injuries suffered
in an auto mishap Thursday,

the hospital after striking a tree
in Plank road just inside the city
limits, was the son of Mr. and

home Sunday after being discharg-
ed from Army service.
Wallace was a passenger in an
auto driven by Frederick William
Behm, 19. Both the driver and
another passenger, Gary Caine, 15,
escaped injury. A third passenger,
Ernest Behm, 17, brother of the
driver, was treated for minor in-
juries.
The Werth youth was a member
of Lockport's Co. K, 390th Infantry
Regiment, Army Reserve,
since December 1955. He entered
service in July this year, after
graduation from Lockport Senior
High School. He was discharged
Dec. 21 after completing six
months active reserve training.
He attended school in Gasport
and at North Park School here
before entering high school. He
was an individual 4-H Club mem-
ber. He was a member of the
Wright's Corners Presbyterian
Church.
In addition to his parents, he is
survived by two brothers, Norman
E. Werth, Warren's Corners, and
Richard Werth, at home; a sister.
Mrs. Donald Hill, Rochester; his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hubert

Richard was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He worked at Harrison Radiator until his retirement.

Helen Marie (Nerber) Johnson passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024 after a full and vibrant life.
Born on January 20, 1932 to Roland and Agnes Nerber, she worked at Harrison Radiator as a welder for 20 years. She was active in the UAW, serving as Chairman of the Women's committee. Helen attended a convention in Washington DC for union workers where she met then President Jimmy Carter. A fierce advocate for worker's rights, she was awarded Woman of the Year from the Union Hall prior to her retirement. Helen helped raise thousands of dollars for the Variety Club, Dale Association, and Lockport Fire Department - to purchase the life-saving equipment Jaws of Life.
As a young girl, Helen received awards in figure skating. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing bingo. She was an avid traveler and particularly loved a cruise and casino. Helen was the life of the party, and had been known to lead a chicken dance (in a full rooster costume complete with sound effects)!
She is predeceased by her beloved husband Robert F. Johnson. She is survived by her children Elaine (Ellie) Mcfalls (NC), William (Martha) Johnson, Roland (Tina) Johnson; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 20th, 4-7pm at Taylor & Reynolds Funeral Home, 70 Niagara Street, Lockport.

She began as a Nursery School teacher in the 1960s and coached the Little League Cheerleaders from the 1960s-1970s. She served on the Committee for the Handicapped during the 1970s as well as the Committee on Special Education from 1978 – 1985. She retired as a bus aide for the Akron Central School District.  In her spare time Joyce loved doing ceramics and collecting colored glass. She especially enjoyed her trips to the casino with her friends.
Beloved mother of David (Nancy) Clary and Debbie Clary; cherished grandmother of Tyler (Christy) Clary, Priscilla (Mark) Fuller, Josh (Danielle) Coppede, Keith Clary, Christian (Stephanie) Navas; proud great grandmother of Bella, Addisyn, Emmaline, Charlotte, Mackenzie, and Teagan. Joyce is predeceased by her husband of 60 years Leonard “Mel” Clary and her daughter, Darcia Clary.

Obituary of Duane J. Behm

Duane J. Behm passed away October 7, 2019 under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born October 5, 1941 in Lockport he was the son of Elton and Virginia (Werth) Behm.  Duane served in the National Guard from 1964 to 1970 and worked at Harrison Radiator Division of GM as a Supervisor in the Metallurgy and Chemical Laboratory for 36 years retiring in 1998.  He was a member of the Jaycee’s serving as chairman of the Lockport Satellite for 22 years and was chairman of the Children’s Hospital Telethon.  Duane enjoyed hunting and woodworking.
Duane is survived by his wife Sharon (Felton) Behm; sons Darrin (Michelle) Behm and Eric(Anita) Behm; grandfather of Russell and Connor Behm and was the brother of Beverly (James) Penland, Lowell (Wenda) and the late Douglas Behm.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Douglas Harold Behm passed away Friday, August 14, 2009 in the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Health Care Facility. Born August 14, 1943 in Lockport, he was the son of Elton A. and Virginia Werth Behm. Doug served six years in the Army Reserves. He was a foreman at Harrison Radiator, retiring in 1996 after 33 years. He was a member of the G-9 Club, Lockport Corvette Club and Trinity Lutheran Church. Doug enjoyed working on his cars and woodworking. He is survived by his daughter, Jodi (Michael) James of Gasport and son, Michael (Cindy) Behm of Lockport; grandfather of Adam Sewar, Cassandra James, Gabrielle James and Jenna Behm. He was the brother of Lowell (Wenda) Behm, Duane (Sharon) Behm and Beverly (James) Penland, all of Lockport. Lois M. (Urtel) Oldenburg, 87, of Mentor for the past 55 years, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Lake West Medical Center, Willoughby, OH. She was born September 19, 1931 in North Tonawanda, N.Y.

She was very devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends. She enjoyed socializing with people, making personal connections, and communicating regularly through letter writing, cards, and time spent together. She was a proud supporter of the Mentor Schools and attended many events over the past 50 years as a Mentor resident.

Survivors include her children, Eric (Aura) Oldenburg, Evan A. Koehler, Elise (Rich) Sivcovich and Gary Oldenburg, and grandchildren, Miles and Dillon Oldenburg and Caroline, Anna and Grace Sivcovich. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years: Gerald F. "Jerry" Oldenburg, and her mother: Hilda (Neil) Roberts.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday November 19, 2018 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.

JACKSON, TN — Mrs. Norma Jean Stange Wallace, age 71, died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at her residence, after a long illness. Norma was born in Niagara Falls, NY on Oct. 13, 1942, the daughter of the late Esther Behnke Stange and Norman Stange.

She graduated from Erie Co. Community College and Lambuth College with a B.S. in business in 1995. Norma retired from Lambuth University as Director of Financial Services in 2008.

She enjoyed traveling to Western New York to visit family and she also loved attending her grandchildren's sports activities.

Norma is survived by her husband of 52 years, Edward G. Wallace of Jackson, TN; three sons, Michael and wife Sandy of Lockport, NY; Mark and wife LaRoyce of Jackson, TN; Matt and wife Sara of Jackson, TN; seven grandchildren, JaNessa Vance, Robyn Wallace, Sean Wallace, Ashley Wallace, Nathan Wallace, Anna Wallace, Drake Wallace; two great-grandchildren, Joshua Broyles and Braxton Mitchell. She was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Stange.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Jan. 24, from 5-7 PM at Lambuth Memorial United Methodist Church, 160 Campbell St., Jackson, TN. A private service for the family will be held. N. FORT MYERS, FL — Randy A. Heiman, 53, passed away on January 19, 2012. Randy was a long-time resident of Lockport. He was at his home in N. Fort Myers, FL.

He leaves behind his fiancee, soul-mate, Michelle (Shelly) Flores. Randy was the son of the late Norman H. and Muriel J. Heiman of Lockport.

Randy will be forever missed and never forgotten by his brothers, Norman A. Heiman, Jeff Harmon (Harms) and his sister, Sandra L. Harmon; nieces, Marla and Megan and his great-nephews and niece.

Randy was known by his family and friends as one who gave so much to others and very little of himself.
