JOHN E. WIENKE - John E. Wienke, 84, formerly of Cayuga Road, Bergholtz, died Tuesday (March 21, 1972) in the Abbey Nursing Home Kenmore, after a long illness. Born in Bergholtz where he lived most of his life, he was the husband of the late Marie Mantke Wienke, who died 1936. He was a.lifelong member of the St. James Lutheran Church, and a member of the 1 Bergholtz Volunteer Fire Co. He had been a cabinet maker, and worked for the Meyer Lumber Co. of North Tonawanda. Survivors include four sons, Herbert and Erwin Wienke of this city, Edward and Nelson Wienke of North Tonawanda: three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Motchenbauth of Buffalo, Mrs. Charles (Florence) Donner of Tonawanda and Mrs. Donald (Lorraine) Werth of North Tonawanda;-two brothers, Adolf Wienke of Sanborn and Relnhard Wienke of this city; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Jagow, Mrs. Emma Haseley, Mrs. Esther Moll, all of this city; and Mrs. Ella Eggert of Sanborn, 20 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was father of the late Richard Wienke, who died in 1957. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Robert Lahman officiating. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rhoney Funeral Home (Pike and Jones), 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions to the St. James Lutheran Church Development Fund or the Lutheran Vespers will be acceptable as tribute, the family said.

Herbert J. Wienke, age 103 of the Brookdale House of Niagara, Wheatfield, NY, was called to be with his Lord on March 15, 2016. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on March 8, 1913, he was the son of the late John and Marie (Nantke) Wienke. Mr. Wienke was a life long member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where he served as an Elder, Trustee and Treasurer. He was a member of the Bergholz Fire Company for over 70 years. After retiring from Carborundum Abrasives after 41 years, Herb repaired and refinished furniture for 11 years, for many friends and family in the area. He was an avid reader of the Bible and devotional books. Herb married Eleanor (DuBois) Wienke on January 22, 1938, who predeceased him in 1998. Survivors include five children, Thomas (Betty) Wienke of Lancaster, CA, Carolyn (Marshal) Chapin of Wheatfield, Harris (Victoria) Wienke of Hamburg, Janelle (John) Peters of Marinette, WI and Albert (Joyce) Wienke of North Tonawanda; two sisters, Florence (late Charles) Donner and Lorraine (late Donald) Werth; three brothers, Erwin Wienke, Edward (Jessie) Wienke and Nelson (Dora) Wienke; ten grandchildren, Mary, Todd, Lori, Michael, Amy, David, Alex, Jessica, Kendra and Julie; six great-grandchildren, Amanda, Dylan, Julia, Sonja, Grant and Ellen; a sister in law, Lillian DuBois and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by a brother, Richard Wienke and sister, Mildred Motchenbaugh. The family will be present on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Mark Perkins, on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. James Lutheran Church, across from the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Roof Fund, or a charity of one's choice.

Motchenbaugh Anonymous The Tonawanda News The Tonawanda News Wed Dec 25, 2013, 10:00 AM EST NORTH TONAWANDA — Mildred (nee Wienke) Motchenbaugh, age 99, of North Tonawanda, died Saturday, December 14, 2013. Born in North Tonawanda, she was the daughter of the late John and Marie (nee Nantke) Wienke and had been a resident of North Tonawanda for the greater part of her life. Millie was employed in the cafeteria at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo and then at Burger King in Tonawanda before retiring. For the past seven years, she had been a regular participant at the DeGraff Adult Day Care program. She is survived by her son, Lawrence (Becky) Motchenbaugh; her daughter, Charlotte (William) Denny; two sisters, Lorraine Werth and Florence Donner; and four brothers, Herb Wienke, Erwin Wienke, Edward (Jessie) Wienke and Nelson (Dora) Wienke. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. FLORENCE G. DONNER age 99 of Niagara Falls, NY, passed into the arms of her Savior on July 26, 2019 in the comfort of her home, under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY on June 8, 1920; the daughter of John and Marie (Nantke) Wienke. Florence was a devoted homemaker and was employed as a clerk at Parson's Drug Store in Tonawanda for 30 years. She was the oldest member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, where she had been active with the Ladies Missionary League, and Altar Guild; member of the Tonawanda Senior Citizens, and the American Legion Post 264 Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years. 
Florence was predeceased by her husband, Charles Donner in 1987; two brothers, Herbert, and Richard Wienke; a sister, Mildred Motchenbaugh; and a great-granddaughter.
Survivors include two children, Ann (Raoul) Guedesse of Niagara Falls, NY and Lowell (Frances) Donner of St. Louis, MO; a sister, Lorraine Werth; three brothers, Ervin, Edward (Jessie), and Nelson (Dora) Wienke; grandsons, Richard Guedesse of Niagara Falls, NY, Charles (Shelie) Guedesse of Cheektowaga, NY, Michael Guedesse of Niagara Falls, NY, and Matthew (Gina) Guedesse of Sierra Vista, AZ; great-grandmother of 10, great-great-grandmother of 11; a very special niece and Goddaughter,Joselyn Szafranski; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

EDWARD ALLEN WIENKE, age 92 of North Tonawanda, New York, entered into rest on April 11, 2024 at his residence, while under the care of his loving family and Niagara Hospice. Born in Wheatfield, New York on December 4, 1931; son of the late John and Marie (Nantke) Wienke. Ed served three enlistments in the United States Air Force, where he earned several commendations. Afterwards, he was employed at the former R.T. Jones Lumber Company, in North Tonawanda, for 22 years. Ed was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie (Budden) Wienke in 2020. They were married November 26, 1952; and four siblings, Herbert and Richard Wienke, Florence Donner, and Mildred Mutchenbaugh.Survivors include a daughter, Gail (Robert) Gibbs of North Tonawanda; two brothers, Erwin Wienke, and Nelson Wienke; a sister, Lorraine Werth; three grandchildren, Christopher (Jennifer) Wienke, Brianna (Matthew Reale) Fischer, and Robert J. Gibbs; six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Saturday - April 20 from 10 a.m. - noon. two others seriously injured when the car in which they were
riding went out of control and collided with a stone column
at the entrance of a Creekside drive parking lot, Town of
Tonawanda, about 1 a.m. Sunday.
Richard L. Wienke, 23, of 178

was promounced dead on arrival
at DeGraff Memorial Hospital. He
suffered a fractured skull, broken
neck and cruched chest.

 Albert Craig Wienke, age 67 of North Tonawanda, formerly of Wheatfield, NY, was called peacefully to his heavenly home on November 13, 2023 at Buffalo General Medical Center. He was the son of the late Herbert and Eleanor (DuBois) Wienke.Faith – Family – Football…Lifelong resident of Niagara County. Graduated from LaSalle Senior High School 1974. Attended NCCC earned Associates degree, Business Administration, 1976.Employed by local industry leaders including Carborundum, Norton and Saint Gobain, in various positions including Production Supervisor – for over 45 years. Retired September 2021. Dedicated employee and mentor. During senior year of high school, 1973 – 1974, received award for All League Football team, positions as Guard and Punter. Loved supporting many sports at all levels – especially football and baseball. Closely followed Buffalo, college and high school teams including Bills, Sabres, Braves, Bandits, UB Bulls, NU Purple Eagles, North Tonawanda and Starpoint school systems. Little league baseball coach and volunteer (late 1970s – 1980s). Player in Niagara County slo-pitch softball league, 1st baseman, for many years. Town of Wheatfield Recreation Dept. baseball coach approx.. 5 years. Avid supporter of his children’s activities and participation in Tae Kwon Do classes, dance recitals, school plays and musicals, participation in soccer, basketball, volleyball and track & field. Always there to provide support and guidance. Enjoyed taking care of home yard work and landscaping, walking family dogs and visiting family. Always open to enjoy travel adventures with spouse, Joyce, and children. Loved visiting the North Tonawanda city market and supported with his vote for #1 in USA for 2023. Steadfast Christian, faith throughout life. He was a lifelong member at St. James Lutheran Church, and served as Trustee and volunteered for related projects such as landscaping. Traveled to Israel in 2018 with a group from The Chapel Crosspoint Campus. Enjoyed reading the two local newspapers and Metro News, Bee and Tribune. Was well informed about local, state and national issues. Supported many charitable organizations including Buffalo City Mission, Feed More WNY, Samaritan’s Purse and Wounded Warrior Project. Ice cream was his favorite treat. When on vacation travels, ice cream and gelato were involved!Enjoyed attending high school class reunions and family reunions. Card player and bowling were fun activities. Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Wienke (formerly Garey, Oswald);Two children, Alexander (spouse, Jessica and grandson, Easton), daughter, Kendra; two stepdaughters , Jessica Oswald, Julie Oswald; two brothers and two sisters, Tom (late, Betty), Carolyn Chapin (Marshal), Harris (Viicky), Janelle Peters (Late John); and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and dear friends.
