Sanborn Resident Dies
SANBORN, Mar. 24.-August Kroening died today at the family home here. Funeral services will be held from the home on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 from St. Peter's church at Walmore. Interment will be in Walmore cemetery, Mr. Kroening is survived by his wife, Augusta (sic) two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Anton Haseley of Niagara Falls, Philip and Mrs. Albert Haseley of Sanborn, and Albert at home; one brother, William, of Sanborn, and ten grandchildren

Mrs. Haseley Dies at 71
SANBORN-Mrs. Hulda A. Haseley, 71, of Lockport Rd., died Thursday (July 30, 1959) in Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in the Town of Niagara, Jan. 27, 1888, she was the daughter of August and Augusta DeVantier Kroening. She married Anthony Haseley 49 years ago. They made their home for many years in Tuscarora Rd., Town of Niagara. For the last seven years, they had lived in their present home in Lockport Rd.
Mrs. Haseley was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Edwin Walck, Lockport; Mrs. Max Haseley, Lewiston, and Mrs. Norman Wendt, Sanborn; a son, Harvey Haseley, also Sanborn; a sister, Mrs. Albert Haseley, Niagara Falls, and two brothers, Philip and Albert Kroening, both on Sanborn; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the home, Lockport Rd., at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and at 3 at St. Peter's Church, the Rev. Donald G. Rehkopf officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

SANBORN - Philip W. Kroening, 80, of 3056 Lockport Rd., died Saturday at the Niagara Falls Medical Center after a short illness. He operated a farm for the last 50 years on Lockport Rd. and since 1939 had operated a saw mill there also. Survivors include his wife, Minnie; two sons Rudolph of Niagara Falls and Herman of here; a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Esther) Schneck of Wappingers Falls; a sister Mrs. Albert (Elizabeth) Haseley of Niagara Falls and nine grandchildren. The Rev. Harold L. Baum will officiate at services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church here. Burial will be in the church cemetery. TOWN OF WHEATFIELD - Elizabeth Haseley, 81, of 2035 Lockport Road died Saturday (Aug. 9, 1980) in Fairchild Manor after a long illness. Born in the Town of Niagara, she was a longtime resident of the Town of Wheatfield and was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore. Her husband, Albert L. Haseley, died in January of this year. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Walmore, with the Rev. SANBORN YOUTH BADLY INJURED; STRUCK BY LIMB
Injured Thursday Evening and Is Still Unconscious at Falls Hospital.
SANBORN. Jan. 26.-Edwin Haseley, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Haseley of the Tuscarora road, south of this village, is confined to the Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Niagara Falls. with a fractured skull as the result of a coon hunting episode. The accident happened Thursday night and the youth is still unconscious and reported to be in very serious condition.
Haseley was walking through a grove near his home on Thursday evening with some other boys when they saw what they believed to be a coon up one of the trees. In an attempt to dislodge the animal a heavy limb was broken from the tree which fell, striking Haseley on the head. He was taken to the hospital where he was found to be suffering from a severe fracture.

YOUTH DIES OF SKULL FRACTURE FROM BEING STRUCK BY TREE LIMB
Edwin Haseley, 18, Victim of Unusual Hunting Accident; Funeral Services Thursday
Edwin Haseley, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Antone (sic) Haseley, Tuscarora road, south (sic) of Sanborn, died at 8:15 o'clock last evening in Mount St. Mary's hospital of a skull fracture. The youth was admitted to the hospital Thursday, victim of an unusual hunting accident.
With some other young men Haseley was walking through a grove near his home when one of the boys saw what he believed was a coon in a tree. In an attempt to dislodge the animal a heavy limb was broken off and it fell, striking Haseley on the head and fracturing his skull. He was taken to the hospital unconscious and did not regain consciousness before his death.
The youth is survived by his parents; a brother, Harvey; three sisters, Frances, Hilda and Irma. Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 o'clock in the Walmore Lutheran church. Burial will be in the Walmore Lutheran cemetery.

Haseley Funeral Held
SANBORN, Feb. 2-The funeral of Edwin Haseley, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Antone (sic) Haseley of the Tuscarora Road who died, on Monday evening, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital at Niagara Falls of a skull fracture, which was held from the family home Wednesday at two o'clock and 2:30 at Walmore church was one of the largest ever held in this section. The bearers were: Philip Wittcop, Clarence Wittcop, Hubert Bentel (sic), Norman Pockelwaldt, Albert Pfhul (sic) and E. Deidtreich (sic). The Rev. Edward Granbau (sic) officiated. Burial was at Walmore Lutheran cemetery.

TOWN OF CAMBRIA - Frances A.. (Haseley) Walck, 81, of Lockport Road, died Sunday (Jan. 2, 1994) at her residence, after a long illness.
She was born in the Town of Niagara on Feb. 2, 1912, to Anthony and Hulda (Kroening) Haseley.
She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sanborn. She loved cooking and gardening.
She and her husband, Edwin D. Walck were married June 17, 1934. They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this year.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Donald Walck and Darrell Walck, both of Lockport; one daughter, Suzanne Milleville of Wheatfield; one brother, Harvey Haseley of Sanborn; one sister, Irma Haseley of the Town of Lewiston; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Peter' s Lutheran. Church, 6167 Walmore Road,. Sanborn, with the Rev. Ronald Majeroni :officiating. Interment will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Wheatfield.

The former Frances A. Haseley was a native of the Town of Niagara.

Harvey H. Haseley, of Sanborn, NY, entered into eternal rest and his heavenly home on Saturday March 1, 2003, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 89 years.
He was born on May 29, 1913, in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, the son of Anthony and Hulda [ Kroening ] Haseley. At an early age, he was raised by the Fahrnwald Family, Fred, Rose and Phillip, Emma, on the family farm, in Sanborn, now, the Power View Farm, well known as a prize winning farm for raising Registered Holstein Cattle, grain and hay, where he has worked all his life. He was a Charter Member of the Niagara County Milk Producer's. Mr. Haseley was a lifetime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Walmore.
He was predeceased, by his wife of 67 years, Elvira M. [ Fedeler ], who died November 11, 2002.
Surviving are his children, Lois Burkhardt [ late Sam ] , of Lockport, Niagara County, NY; Helen Buerger [ William ] of Sanborn; Roy Haseley [ Eileen ] of Sanborn; Margaret Ewald [ Ralph ] of Ransomville; Howard Haseley [ late Linda ] of Sanborn; Karen Hicks [ Donald ] of Bluff City, TN; Nelson Haseley [ Barbara ], of Sanborn; a sister Irma Haseley, of Sanborn; 23 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Edwin Haseley, Hilda Wendt and Frances Walck.
The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, from 7- 9 P.M. Thursday and 1 - 4 & 7 - 9 P.M. Friday.

A native of the Town of Niagara, she moved to Sanborn in 1940. She was a member of. St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda. She is survived by her husband, Norman J. Of Lewiston, NY, passed away on  Monday, October 30, 2017, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. She was born in Town of Niagara, NY, on April 25, 1922, a daughter of the late Anthony and Hulda [Kroening]  Haseley.
Mrs. Haseley was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family , grandchildren, great grandchildren , who were the love of her life. A life long member of St. Peter's Church, she always talked to everyone about her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was the widow of Max F. Haseley, who passed away in February of 1988. Mrs. Haseley is  survived by a son, David [Joanne] Haseley, two daughters, Diane M. (late Russell) Frerichs and Shirley J. (Howard) Walck, eight grandchildren Cheryl Newton, Shawn Haseley, Daryl (Rachel) Haseley, Kim (Bruce) DeVantier, Kelli (Randy) Kaminski, Kristen (Greg) Schuey, Brent (Andrea) and Bruce (Jennifer) Walck, also sixteen great grandchildren, one great  great granddaughter, also many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Edwin and  Harvey Haseley, Frances Walck and Hilda Wendt.
Her family will be present on   Saturday from 10-1:00 PM at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY where funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Thomas Thorstad officiating.
A special Thank you to all the staff at Our Lady of Peace 2 West.

SANBORN - Rudolph J. Kroening, 64, of Fair View Drive, a member of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. for 38 years, died in Erie County Medical Center Tuesday (April 7, 1987).
The lifelong resident of Sanborn was the son of the late Phillip and Minnie (Pfohl) Kroening.
He was a self-employed truck driver for 40 years and for the past year drove for the Buffalo Fuel Corp. He was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, the Lutheran Laymen's League, and was treasurer and assistant bingo chairman of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. He was a former member of the Sanborn Band and a member of the Niagara County Volunteer Firemen's Association.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Gombert) Kroening; sons, Arthur, Hartley, Darryl and Stephen Kroening of Wheatfield;. daughters, Mrs. John (Eileen) Gieseler and Naomi Kroening of Wheatfield; a brother, Herman Kroening of Sanborn; a sister, Mrs. Donald (Esther) Schneck of Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; and 10 grandchildren.
Friends may call today and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz, where the Sanborn Fire Co. will hold services at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Herman E. Kroening age 86, was called to his heavenly home on December 22, 2014 while at the Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY on February 12, 1928, he was the son of the late Philip and Minnie (Pfohl) Kroening. Herman was a self employed agricultural farmer in the Town of Wheatfield, and raised various farm animals. For many years he worked in his family's lumber yard with his father and brother.

Survivors include a daughter, Amy Consier of Newfane; a sister, Esther (dec. Donald) Schneck; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his wife, Norma E. Kroening on July 27, 2003 and a brother, Rudolph Kroening.

Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME (731-3234), 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Friday from 6-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael A. Keicher, on Friday at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home, following visitation. A private interment will take place in the Wheatfield Cemetery. Poughkeepsie - Esther Minnie Kroening Schneck, 84, passed into eternal rest on Saturday August 8, 2020. Esther was born at home in Sanborn New York on December 11, 1935 to Phillip and Minnie Pfohl Kroening. She attended school at St. Peter's Lutheran School in Walmore and Wheatfield School in Sanborn. She graduated from North Tonawanda High School NY in 1954. She was employed as a Secretary in Niagara Falls in the industrial Relations Department of Electro Metallurgical Company, A Division of Union Carbide and Carbon Corporation. She also kept and maintained a beautiful home for many years where she helped raise her children and entertain family and friends. She was married to Donald V. Schneck on August 18, 1956 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore, New York by Rev, Sherwood Schroer. She also was an active member of that church. Her husband's employment with IBM resulted in their family traveling to and living in many states including Maine, Washington, California and New York. These relocations gave them wonderful opportunities to visit and enjoy many National Parks. Esther attended and was an active member of various churches all her life, the most recent of which was St. John's Lutheran Church for the past 55 years. During that time she served the church and its members in many capacities. These included Adult Education for Congregational retreats, Vacation Bible School teacher, Bethel Bible Series student and teacher, and various other committees. Together with her husband Don they graciously hosted in their home for 15 years a bible study group which they named "For such a time as this". Throughout her life Esther relied on her personal faith in God thru Jesus Christ. This faith gave her strength, hope and an assurance that she would one day be with her Lord and Savior in heaven. Esther loved going on vacations (especially to Maine), family gatherings of all kinds and celebrating holidays together. She enjoyed cake decorating, creating beautiful floral arrangements and everyone enjoyed her wonderful cooking (especially her famous Chocolate Tortes). Esther was the mother of three children Daniel (Fiancé Milagros), David (wife Rosemarie) and Karen (Husband Richard Hutchings - Deceased). She was Grandmother to 10, Jessica (Husband Jason Smith), Jason Hutchings (Wife Kasey), Daniel Fuentes (Wife Ali), Jacob Schneck (Wife Annie), Tiffany Schneck (Fiancé Thomas), Nathan, Stephanie (Husband Daniel Schroder), Bethany, Christina (Fiancé Taylor and Christopher. Esther was Great Grandmother to 10, Jeremiah, Melina, Sara, Sabelle, Addie, Dakota, Noah, Emery, Willow and Wyatt. Esther was devoted to her family and cared for them for many years. From raising three very young children as she traveled across the country to caring for her dying husband during his courageous battle with cancer she gave herself for others. Above everything else Esther loved her family and they loved and adored her in return. She will indeed be greatly missed. Call hours will be from 5 to 7:30pm on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at sweets Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park, NY. A service will be held at the Funeral Home immediately following the viewing. Rev. Clarence A. "Squeaky" Kroening, age 82, of Sanborn, NY, went to be with his Lord on Monday, December 31st, 2007 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, Niagara County, NY. He was born in Town of Wheatfield, on February 26, 1925, to the late Albert E. and Lizzie (Haseley) Kroening. He married his wife, the former Phyllis Walck, on September 7, 1946. Clarence owned the former Sanborn Milling Company, with his partner Erwin Pfohl for 30 years, and later worked for the Niagara County Highway Department as a parts man and truck driver. He served on the Town of Wheatfield Planning Board for 25 years. Clarence also served as treasurer of the former Bergholz Insurance Company. He was a life member of the St. Peters Lutheran Church, where he held various offices. He was very active in the Lutheran Vespers radio program. He was a past secretary of Lutheran Charities where he received the Ralph W. Loew a Award for recognition of service in social ministries of Western New York. For many years he and his wife rented a large truck and filled it with quilts, used clothing, soap and various hats, over 20,000 quilts, 49 tons of material collected from various Lutheran Church's of WNY and delivered them to the Lutheran World Relief Warehouse in Maryland. He was still involved with this project this past year. In 2004 he received a certificate of appreciation from the Thrivent for Lutherans for his dedication service to his Lord through his work with Lutheran World Relief. Clarence was a past president and life member of the Sanborn Lions Club. He was also a 58 year member of the Sanborn Fire Company and its exempts. He was a Charter Member of the TriCommunity Ambulance Service, where he volunteered as a driver, in the late 50's and early 60's. He enjoyed being with his family very much. His hobbies were fishing and traveling. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Phyllis; three daughters, Linda (John) Pluff of New Jersey, Cheryl (James) Kluss of Sanborn, Sandra (Gary) Iulg of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Tanya (Ryan) Nakai, Todd Kluss, Nicole Pluff, Timothy (Nancy) Iulg, Dawn Iulg; two great grandchildren, Lindsay Ryan Nakai and Drew Tyler Nakai; sisters-in-law, Jane Kroening, Ann Kroening; brother-in-law, Arnold (Mae) Behrens; several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Arnold Kroening, Edgar D. Kroening and Albert A. Kroening. SANBORN, Aug. 1.-Arnold Kroening, 2 1/2 -year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Kroening, of Lockport road, died here yesterday, following an illness of a week. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock from the home and at 2:30 from St. Peter's church in Walmore. Burial will be in Walmore cemetery.

WHEATFIELD-Edgar Kroening, who was active in various Niagara County and Wheatfield groups and boards. died Friday July I. 1994) at his residence. He was 61.
Mr. Kroening, of Lockport Road. was a member of the Wheatfield Town Board, Wheatfield Zoning Board of Appeals and the Starpoint School Board. among other activities. Town of Wheatfield Supervisor Terry Kuehn called Mr. Kroening's death "a great loss" to both the town and its residents.
ÒI found it was a pleasure to work with him,Ó Kuehn said. ÒI always found him to be an honest and sincere person. He always put the people first in the town when making his decisions. He'll be a great loss to the people of Wheatfield and the town government. Mr. Kroening was born May 2, 1933, in Wheatfield, the son of Albert and Elizabeth (Haseley) Kroening.
He was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield and a dairy farmer.

Kroening, 61, died Friday (July 1, 1994) at his home on Lockport Road after a long illness.
The dairy farmer and lifelong Wheatfield resident currently was a member of the town's Zoning Board of Appeals.
He previously served a year as a councilman and one term on the School Board.
He also served as the town's dog warden, a member of the board of directors for the Niagara County Milk Cooperative, a Republican town committeeman, a committeeman of the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation System for the county and town, and an elder and trustee at St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lynn Hebeler of Wheatfield; a son, Lee of Cambria; a brother, Clarence of Wheatfield; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday in St. Peter's Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Wheatfield. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Clarice E. Becker of Sanborn, NY passed away on  Saturday, January 8, 2022, at her home under the loving care of her family and the wonderful nurses of Niagara Hospice.  She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on August 5, 1932, daughter of the late Edwin and Lydia [Walck]  Ferchen.

Clarice graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She was employed with the Niagara County Office for the Aging for many years before retiring.

Always known for taking the scenic route, Clarice enjoyed the journey as much as the destination.  If she wasn’t in her backyard gardening, Clarice was most likely visiting with the family she loved so much whether near or far.

Clarice was the wife of the late Wilfred W. "Bill"  Becker, who passed away in March of 2011. She is survived by  three daughters Barbara (Gregg) Gross, Diane (Gary) Marshall and Cathy (Kevin) Freiert, five grandchildren Derek (Viviana) Robinson, Heather (Mike) McCullen, Jamie (Luis) Roger, Amber and Taylor Marshall, five great grandchildren Ethan, Matthew and Jacob Robinson,Harper and Lennon Roger, two sisters Joyce (late Eugene) Coddington and Dorothy (late Robert) Jenneve,  also survived by many nieces and nephews.

IOWA CITY, IA — Lois Margaret (Haseley) (Walck) Burkhardt, 75, went to be with the Lord, October 20, 2011. She was born to the late Harvey and Elvira Haseley, June 1, 1936, in Niagara Falls, NY.

Lois was a homemaker and worked as a social worker at the Lockport Senior Centre. Lois loved spending time with her family and was passionate about making a difference in their lives and investing in their futures. She was a kind, caring, unselfish person who was always thinking of others.

Lois is survived by her children, Kent Walck (Mary Lou) of Benezette, PA, Dale Walck of Wheatfield, NY, Janet Smith (Kerry) of Rockwall, TX, Marsha Johnston (Brian) of Cary, NC, Marlene Horvath (Scott) of Garland, TX, John Burkhardt (Donette) of Tonawanda, NY, and Darcy Renna of Tonawanda, NY. She also is survived by 18 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three sisters; two brothers; many nieces, nephews and special relatives and friends. She was predeceased by Arnold Walck and Sam Burkhardt.

A memorial service to honor the life of Lois will be held at the Lockport Alliance Church (555 Davison Road, Lockport, NY) on Friday, October 28 at 4:00 PM. A private burial will be held by the family. He was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY on November 25, 1944, the son of Harvey H. and Elvira M. [Fedeler] Haseley. Mr. Haseley graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School and attended the Graham Institute of Animal Medicine. He was employed with the American Breeders Services for many years.
Mr. Haseley along with his brother Nelson operated the Power View Farms in Sanborn. He was a life long member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore, a board member of the Niagara County Milk Producer's (Wendt Dairy) and was also an avid hunter.
Mr. Haseley was the husband of the late Linda [Schultz] Haseley, who died in August of 1977.
He is survived by two daughters, Jamie L. (Edward) Lopez of Indianapolis, IN and Jill L. Haseley of Sanborn, two brothers, Roy (Eileen) Haseley and Nelson (Barbara) Haseley both of Sanborn, four sisters Lois (late Sam) Burkhardt of Winterhaven, FL, Helen (William) Buerger of Sanborn, Margaret (Ralph) Ewald of Ransomville and Karen (Donald) Hicks of Johnson City, TN, also survived by a special niece Jennifer (David) Anastasi, a grand niece Ava Vera Anastasi and many nieces and nephews.

David L. Haseley went to be with the Lord November 9, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Born November 25, 1940 in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of Max F. and Irma Haseley.  David worked for Grand Island Sales & Service for 37 years retiring in 2007.  He loved farming, David worked with his father on the Max Haseley & Son Farm and after he retired he worked with his cousins Don Walck and Andrew Milleville at the A & M Farms.

Mark Donald Kroening, age 44, went to his heavenly home on Thursday December 6, 2007, in Roswell Park Institute after a brief illness. He was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, on March 11, 1963, the son of Jane (Wendt) Kroening and the late Edgar Kroening. Mark grew up on the family farm in the Town of Wheatfield and had been employed by the United Parcel Service for the last 20 years. Mark was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish with his sons in the great outdoors. He also took a special interest in basketball, baseball and bowling. He had participated in athletics throughout his life as both a player and coach. He was the Niagara-Orleans leading point scorer for the 1980-81 basketball season. Mark was an active and contributing member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Sanborn, New York, where he attended school through 8th grade. Mark was a 1981 graduate of Starpoint High School. Upon graduation he worked at Voss Tool while he helped to run the family farm. Mark will be remembered for his strong commitment to his family and church, and he was best known for his happy personality and special ability to get those around him to laugh. Surviving in addition to his mother is his beloved wife of 20 years, the former Darla Walck; three sons Tyler, Matthew, and Brock, sister Brenda (Rick) Kline, and brother Gerald (Linda) Kroening; mother and father-in-law Gilbert and Carol Walck; brothers-in-law, Randy Walck (Amy), and Gary Walck; nieces and nephews, Heather (Bob) Tubbs, Jamie (Todd) Conklin, Jason, Lindsay Kroening, Sara, Katie and Luke Walck along with several aunts, uncles and numerous extended family and friends. Friends may call the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn, on Saturday from 7-9 and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9. Jeffrey M. " Jeff " Ewald, age 40 of Akron, Erie County, NY, formerly of Ransomville, NY died Sunday, November 13th, 2005 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, after being stricken ill at home with an apparent heart attack.
Jeff was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, on March 1, 1965, the son of Ralph W. and Margaret R. [ Haseley ] Ewald. He had attended St. Peter Lutheran School - Walmore, Sanborn, NY prior to moving to Ransomville, NY, in 1975, where he attended the Wilson Central School. He was a graduate of the Wilson Central High School in the Class of 1983.
Jeff was a carpenter, who worked with his father at R W E Woodworking, Inc., following his graduation from high school. Jeff was a collector of John Deere Antiques and memorabilia, who also enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and the WNY Two Cylinder Association.
Surviving in addition to his parents are three brothers, Brett [ Sheryl ] Ewald, of Wilson, NY; Shawn [ Stacey ] Ewald, of Larchmont, NY; Shane Ewald of Dallas TX; one sister, Julie [ Hristo ] Doichev, of San Jose, CA; a nephew, Alex Ewald; two nieces, Jessica Ewald; Kaissa Doichev, his paternal grandmother Ruth Ewald, of Akron, Erie County, NY, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will be present Wednesday from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, 5893 Hoover Road Funeral services will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 6168 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY. at 11 AM on Thursday, November 17th, with Rev. Bruce M. Gamache officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery Wheatfield, NY. Melinda Hicks Jenkins, age 50, passed away peacefully at home on August 5, 2017 with her family by her side. Her journey with cancer was an example of strength and courage to all who knew her. Born on July 5, 1967 in Lewiston, New York, Melinda grew up in Bristol, Tennessee. She graduated from Tennessee High School and East Tennessee State University. In addition to her bachelor's degree, Melinda earned her master's degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University and worked as a social worker for the VA Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. Melinda married her husband, Neff Jenkins, on October 17, 1998. They relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in June of 1999. In Jacksonville she continued her career in social work at the Children's Home Society and Baptist Medical Center until her first child was born. Melinda was a devoted wife, a loving and dedicated mother, a skilled cook, and the best friend anyone could have. She was quick with a smile, adventurous, fun loving, thoughtful, and a loyal friend. Melinda had a strong faith in God and lived her faith through her family and friends. She also had a generous spirit for her community, serving through the Junior League of Jacksonville and the Women's Board of Wolfson Children's Hospital.

Melinda is survived by her husband, Neff Jenkins; three children Luke (16), Kelly (14), and Avery (10); her parents Don and Karen Hicks; brothers Christopher Hicks and Jonathan Hicks; and sister Rebecca Whittemore

Jeremy W. Myers, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Friday. May 3, 2019.  He was 28.  He was born in Lewiston, New York on November 14, 1990, a son of Richard and Carol (Buerger) Myers also of Sanborn. 
Jeremy was employed by Aavid Niagara as a machine operator.    As a small child, began his love of working with his hands, he was especially mechanically gifted.  His interests were motorsports; building and dirt biking.   He loved his close family and friends immensely and was a wonderful uncle to four beautiful nieces.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Richard D. Myers, II (Isabel) of Silver Springs, MD; Jason Charles Myers of Sanborn; his sister, Kaylie Ann Myers of Buffalo; maternal grandparents, William E.  and Helen (Haseley) Buerger of Sanborn;  his four nieces, several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Herbert and Ruth (Dean) Myers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17th after 4:30 PM  in the Forestview Church,1250 Saunders Settlement Road, Niagara Falls, where it's Pastor Ronald Maines will conduct memorial services at 5:30 PM.  Dinner will directly follow the services at 6:30 PM in the fellowship hall of the church.  All are welcome to attend.  The Lane Funeral Home, Inc., is handling the arrangements.
