The funeral of Mrs. Henrietta Goerss widow of John Goerss, who was 72 years old took place last Tuesday from her late residence on East Niagara street to St. Jacobs cemetery. Beloved brother of Miss Charlotte Goerss, Miss Sophia Goerss and Hubert Goerss, all of North Tonawanda; uncle of several nieces and nephews. Friends received at the residence where prayers will be said Thursday, Sept. 26, at 1:30 p.m. followed by services in St. James Lutheran Church, the Rev. Robert Lehman officiating. LOCKPORT - Rudolph Goerss, 84, of S. Transit Road,, died here Wednesday, (Jan. 9, 1963) after a brief illness. Mr. Goerss was the husband of the late Martha Schutz Goerss. He is survived by two brothers, Anton and Hubert Goerss and two sisters, the Misses Sophia and Charlotte Goerss, all of North Tonawahda. Mr. Goerss was born in Wheatfield Sept. 5, 1078; son of John and Henrietta Broecker Goerss. He operated a farm in S. Transit Road for more than 50 years and retired in 1957. • He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Services will he conducted by Rev. Ernest Heuer, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home Saturday at 2-.30 p.m. Burial will be in Wright Corners cemetery.

Mrs. Grabau Dies in Ohio
WALMORE-Mrs. Frances M. Grabau, 75, died Sunday, March 10, 1957) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Duwe, East Palestine, OH. She was a native of Bergholtz, the daughter of the late John and Henrietta Broeker Goerss.
Mrs. Grabau was married on Sept. 29, 1904, to the Rev. Edward A. Graubau (sic), pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church here for 42 years, retiring in 1948, after which the couple resided in North Tonawanda. They moved to their daughter's home in Ohio in 1952.
Mrs. Grabau was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, East Palestine. In addition to her husband and daughter, surviving are two sisters, the Misses Charlotte and Sophie Goerss, and four brothers, Anton, Rufus. Hubert Goerss. all of North Tonawanda, and Rudolph Goerss, Lockport, two grandsons and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Pike Funeral Home, Sanborn, Wednesday evening. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and at 2:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Church, by the Rev. Martin Pempeit. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

GOERSS – Rufus H. Goerss, 68, of 979 Nash Rd., North Tonawanda, died Monday (Nov. 10, 1958) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in the Town of Wheatfield, Mr. Goerss had resided in North Tonawanda for more than 40 years. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in France with the U. S. Army. He had been employed at Buffalo Bolt Co. for 22 years.
Mr. Goerss was a member of St. Peter’s American Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Clara (nee Weinheimer); two daughters, Miss Violet C. Goerss and Mrs. Esslie Kraft; three brothers, Anton, Rudolph and Hubert Goerss, and two sisters, Miss Sophia and Miss Charlotte Goerss, all of North Tonawanda.

Mrs. Pack, 80, was born in Wheatfield and lived in this area all of her life. She formerly worked at Greenwald's Restaurant and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, and the Sanbornites Senior Citizen Club. She was the wife of the late William Pack. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Janet) Kroening of Sanborn, two grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Janet E. Kroening, 81, of Sanborn, NY died Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Residence in Lewiston.
She was born on July 17, 1925, in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, the daughter of the late William and Elsie (Goerss) Pack, and was a graduate of LaSalle High School in 1942.
Upon graduation from high school, she was employed at the Carborundum Company in the billing department. After having children, she was employed part time at the Sanborn Library. She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, where she was an active member of Grace Ladies for many years, served on the Altar Guild, sang in the choir, and taught Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the Sanborn Historical Society. She was devoted to her family and especially looked forward to time spent with her grandchildren. Janet was married for 60 years to the late Harold Kroening, who passed away in February of 2006.
She is survived by one daughter Amy (Ross) Folmsbee of Sanborn, one daughter-in-law Kathryn(Kelly) Armstrong of Rochester, four grandchildren Laura, Melisa and David Kroening and Jonathan Folmsbee. Sister-in-law of Gilbert & Norma Kroening and Gladys (late Benjamin) Haseley. She is also survived by her aide and good friend Calleta Jackson.
She was the mother of the late Bruce Kroening.
The family will be present at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday.

ROCHESTER - Bruce H. Kroening, 44, formerly of Sanborn, died Tuesday Jan. 31, 1995) at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, of an apparent heart attack.
The native of Niagara Falls was born Aug. 12, 1950, the son of Harold and Janet Kroening of Sanborn. He attended Niagara-Wheatfield Senior High School and Brockport State University.
While residing in Rochester, Mr. Kroening worked at Eastman Kodak County, coached soccer for the Gates Soccer League and was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Schlegel) Kroening of Rochester; two daughters, Laura Kroening and Melisa (sic) Kroening, both of Rochester; a son, David Kroening of Rochester; a sister, Amy Fohmsbee of Sanborn; his paternal grandmother; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Funeral Home of Alvah Halloran and Son, 2125 Chili Ave., Rochester. Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Faith Lutheran Church, 2576 Browncroft Blvd., Rochester.
