AGED GRATWICKIAN DIED YESTERDAY
Gratwick yesterday lost one off its oldest residents when Charles Stenzel of the Ward Road passed away at his home. Mr. Stenzel was 74 years of age and had lived on the Ward road for 43 years. He is survived by a wife, four sons, August, William, Charles, Jr., and Herman, and one sister, Mrs. Christian Broecker. The funeral will take place Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the house and a half hour later from the German Lutheran church.

August Stenzel, 74 years old, died this morning at the home of his son, Edward, 55 Steiner avenue. Born in Germany, Mr. Stenzel came to America 66 years ago, locating in the town of Wheatfield, where he resided until coming to Tonawanda three years ago. He is survived by two sons, Edward and William, the later of St. Johnsburg; two daughters, Mrs. Gustav Heppner and Mrs. George Pankow, St. Johnsburg, six grandchildren, and two brothers, Charles and Herman Stenzel, St. Johnsburg. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the residence and an hour later at the St. John's church. Rev. Walter Thiemecke will officiate and burial will be in the St. John's cemetery.

NORTH TONAWANDA, Nov. 6—
Charles A. Stenzel. 76. a lifelong
resident of St. Johnsburz and and
emplovc of the Buffalo Bolt company
for the past 40 years, died sud-
denly yesterday from a heart attack
while at his place of employment.
He retired as an employee of the
company just before the war broke
out but was called back as a guard
at the Oliver street plant when the
United States broke with Japan and
Germany.
Mr. Stenzel was a member of the
St. John's Lutheran church. For
more than 20 years he had served
the church as an elder. He was also
a member of the St. Johnsburg fire
company.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary
Perslien Stenzel; three sons, Wil-
bert Stenzel of tonawanda, and
Carl and Reuben Stenzel, of the
Town of Wheatfield four daugh-
ters, Mrs. Eleanora Mellenthine, Mrs.
Erwin Stoelting and Mrs. Arthur
Stoelting of the Town of Wheat-
field and Mrs. Dorothea Ellman
of the town of Tonawanda; 17
grandchildren and a brother, Her-

NORTH TONAWANDA - Funeral services for William C. Stenzel, 89, of 2552 Niagara Road, Town of Wheatfield, will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Fretthold Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence W. Rabe officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. Mr. Stenzel died Monday (May 24, 1971) in Mount St. Mary Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the St. Johnsburg Fire Co., was a former welfare officer of the Town of Wheatfield for 25 years, and had operated the Uncle Bill Roller Rink in St. Johnsburg. He is survived by his widow, Elsie (lngwersen) Stenzel; five daughters, Mrs. Lewis Werth of the Town of Wheatfield; Mrs. Alfred Schimschack of California, and Mrs. Walter Newmann, Mrs. Robert Schoenfeldt and Mrs. Howard Sahr, all of North Tonawanda; a son, Howard G. The former Eleonora Stenzel was born in Wheatfield. She was employed for 25 years in the sewing department at Du Pont, retiring in 1966. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid Society, the Lutheran Missionary League, the DeGraff Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Wheatfield Senior Citizens and the Du Pont 25-Year Club. Her husband, Helmuth, died in 1936. Survivors include two sisters, Mathilda Stoelting of Bergholz and Dorothy Bross of North Tonawanda; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren. Lumber City Man Hanged In Jail Cell
NORTH TONAWANDA - Reuben A. Stenzel, 53, of no permanent address, who was arrested at 9 p.m. Thursday on a disorderly conduct charge, was found hanged on
the door of his cell at police headquarters. The body was found at 2 a.m. today (Nov. 2, 1962) with a blanket twisted around the neck by Lt. Charles Clerk. Coroner Dr. John C. Kinzley pronounced Stenzel dead. No death certificate was issued at press time.
Stenzel was arrested, police said, for causing a disturbance at his former rooming house, 16 Allen St. Surviving are two sons, Donald Stenzel, Tonawanda, and Douglas Stenzel, stationed in Japan with the U.S. Army; a daughter, Mrs. Oscar (Diane) Buchholz, Wheatfield; four sisters, Mrs. John Bross, this city, Mrs. Eleanora Mellenthine, Mrs. Irvin Stoelting and Mrs. Arthur Stoelting, all of Wheatfield; two brothers, Wilbert Stenzel, Tonawanda, Carl Stenzel, Wheatfield; and six grandchildren. Mathilda A. Stoelting (Stenzel), age 96, of the Town of Wheatfield, was called to her heavenly home to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, January 8, 2010 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY on August 31, 1913 to the late Charles and Mary (Penslien) Stenzel. She attended St. John Ev. Lutheran School and the Felton Grammar School in North Tonawanda. Mathilda was a longtime member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz, where she was a member of the Altar Guild, Quilters, member of the Lutheran Woman's Missionary League and the Wheatfield Senior Citizens. Mathilda enjoyed baking, playing cards and picking strawberries.Survivors include four children, Duane A. Stoelting of Wheatfield, Helen M. Haseley of Walmore, Margaret E. Stuenkel of Cleveland, OH and Mary Lou Milroy of Niagara Falls; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Erna Stenzel of Wheatfield and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur J. Stoelting on March 18, 1995 - they were united in marriage June 15, 1935; three sisters and four brothers. Mildred Werth, 90, a native of Wheatfield, died Monday (June 22, 1998) in Crestwood Nursing Home, where she lived since 1955.
The former Mildred Stenzel was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies Aid Society and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Mrs. Werth also was a charter member of the auxiliary of the St. Johnsburg Fire Company and a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting and gardening.
Her husband, Louis Werth, died in 1967. He was a former highway superintendent in Wheatfield.
Survivors include a son, Donnel of Wheatfield; a sister, Beatrice Sahr of North Tonawanda; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. John Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls Boulevard and Ward Road. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

Run down by an automobile on the Niagara Falls boulevard near the Witmer road, town of Wheatfield, shortly after 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon Eugene Donald Stenzel, five years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Stenzel, in front of whose residence the accident occurred, died in the DeGraff Memorial hospital half an
hour later. Dr. John Kinzly, who attended the child, found that he sustained a fractured skull, a broken leg and numerous bruises and contusions.
Driver Released
Leo J. Roy of 1925 Tenth street, Niagara Falls, driver of the machine, was released after making a statement to Coroner J. E. Helwig and the state troopers. Dr. Helwig will continue the investigation of the accident today. Roy said he was on his way to
the Falls and did not see the boy until he dashed into the highway, a short distance away. The Stenzels have their mail box on that side of the boulevard opposite their home. It is thought the child was on his way to the box to get the mail and was oblivious of the approaching machine. Funeral to be Wednesday. Besides his parents a brother, Gordon, survives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence and at 2:30 o'clock from the St. James church in Bergholz. The Rev. Otto Bruss will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery at St. Johnsburg.

TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — LeRoy E. Stenzel, age 87, of the Town of Wheatfield, unexpectedly, on February 17, 2012 in DeGraff Memorial Hospital. Mr. Stenzel was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, where he had served as an Elder and the Sunday School Superintendent. He had retired from Buffalo Pumps after 35 years of service.

He was the husband of the late Claribel Stenzel, who died in 1997. Beloved father of Duane (Karen) Stenzel of Florida, Richard (Debra) Stenzel of North Tonawanda and Judith (Robert) Sommers of Wheatfield. Grandfather of Natalie (Ethan) Eldridge, Kristine (Kenneth) Perez, Sharon Stenzel, Jessica Stenzel, Jonathan Peter, and Jennifer Sommers. Great-grandfather of Autumn Perez and Matthew Eldridge. Brother of Mike (June) Stenzel of Niagara Falls. Uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Myron "Mike" E. Stenzel, age 83, of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home on February 8, 2016, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Born May 8, 1932, he was the son of the late Erwin and Mary (Leverentz) Stenzel.
A 1950 graduate of North Tonawanda High School, he was a Korean War veteran and employed as a machinist at Kimberly Clark and Harrison Radiator. After retirement he was a courtesy driver for David Chevrolet.
Mike was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, American Legion Wheatfield Post 1451, VFW 9011, former Fire Police Captain with Bergholz Fire Company, and enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, Euchre, roller skating, and Bills fan. Mike was very patriotic and displayed the American flag proudly.
Survivors include his wife, June E. (Williams) Stenzel; three children, Jeff (Belinda) Stenzel of Bergholz, Sandy (Bob) Miller of Houston, TX and Dawn Stenzel of Wheatfield; six grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Allison, Kyle, Sarah and Riley. Marvin E. Stoelting, age 86, of Pekin and husband of the late Phyllis (nee Mielke) Stoelting entered into rest on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at his home. Marvin was born on August 23, 1934 in North Tonawanda, NY, he is the son of the late Erwin and the late Ruth (Stenzel) Stoelting. He attended Niagara Falls High School. Marvin married Phyllis Mielke on August 25, 1956 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Pekin, she predeceased him in 2010. Marvin served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959, he was stationed in Germany as an auto mechanic in the motor pool. Marvin worked his entire life at the family business Stoelting Machine Inc. in Bergholz as a machinist and Vice Present. He was a former elder for St. Andrews Lutheran Church, past President, EMT and life member of Tri-Community Ambulance Inc. Marvin was in the first EMT class held at NCCC. Marvin enjoyed hunting, working and spending time with family and friends at social gatherings and events.Surviving are his son Randy Stoelting; his sister Nancy (Leonard) Wienke; his grandchildren Justin (Katie) Stoelting, Kari (Nick) Piazza and Kaylee Stoelting, also surviving is a great granddaughter on the way; his sister in-law Karen Stoelting and several nieces and nephews. Wayne C. Stoelting, age 77, of Bergholz, was called to his heavenly home at his residence on May 31, 2015 while under the care of his loving family and Niagara Hospice. Born May 17, 1938 in North Tonawanda, NY, he was the son of the late Erwin and Ruth (Stenzel) Stoelting.

Wayne was the owner of Stoelting Machine, Inc. on Niagara Falls Blvd., a life long member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Bergholz where he served as a past elder, school board president and basketball coach. He was also a member of the Bergholz Fire Company for 56 years and was a past president and chief, Niagara County Fire Association, Niagara County Chief's Association, WNYVFA, FASNY, Niagara County Sheriff's Snowmobile Patrol, Wheatfield Business Association, a founding member and past president of Tri-Community Ambulance Service, Inc., and founding member of the Bergholz German Band. Hobbies and interests included fast pitch softball, bowling, gardening, and spending quality time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Karen (DeVantier) Stoelting, who were united in marriage on February 20, 1960; four children, Dennis (Diane) Stoelting, Gail (late Mark) Carrier, Laura (Steve) Rohring and Jonathan Stoelting; nine grandchildren, Christine, Hannah, Cory, Emma, Alex, Jake, Luke, Rachel and Grace; a brother, Marvin (late Phyllis) Stoelting; sister, Nancy (Leonard) Wienke; and several nieces and nephews.

Stenzel served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.
He worked in the waste water treatment plant from 1970 until retiring in 1991.
Stenzel was a member of Forest Avenue Church of God and the Retired Men's Service Club.
He enjoyed playing golf and horseshoes with his son.

On June 7, 1958 in Bergholz she married hee husband of sixty-one years, Oscar L. Buchholz, who predeceased her on September 21, 2019.
She was raised in Bergholz, NY in Niagara County. She also formerly resided in Lockport and North Tonawanda. She moved to the Wellsville area in 1983. During her early years, Dianne was a waitress for her Aunt and Uncle.  She was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed taking care of her family.
She is survived by: three daughters, Corinne (Ralph) Maday of SC, Brigette (James) Grawe of North Tonawanda, and Donna (Duane) Moderacki of North Tonawanda; six grandchildren, Adam, James, Jennifer, Jamie, Jozef, and Brett; twelve great-grandchildren, Olivia, Addison, Kendal, Carter, Ryan, Ella, Samuel, Brigette, Sophia, Leah, Allie, and William; one brother, Douglas (Gayle) Stenzel of FL; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT — Sharon N. Wright (Neumann), age 66, formerly of North Tonawanda, died, suddenly, on September 13, 2011, in her home in South Burlington, VT. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy Neumann.

A resident of North Tonawanda for over 60 years, she was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ and an active, founding member of the Twin City Community Outreach Food Pantry and Clothes Closet programs.

Beloved mother of Kristin Wright (Jeffrey Berkowitz), Amy (David) Wright-Parra and Joseph (Lynn) Wright. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, Emma, Jerry and William Berkowitz, and Annabelle and Samuel Wright. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the dear sister of the late Rodney (Joan) Neumann, Dale (Fran) Neumann and Paulette (Rick) Bennett.

Michael L. Stenzel, age 50, of Niagara Falls, NY was called to his heavenly home peacefully into the arms of Jesus, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Born June 20, 1965 in Niagara Falls, NY to Myron (Mike) and June (Williams) Stenzel. He attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School in 1983. He was formerly employed at Greene & Kellogg, Superior Lubricants, and Norampac. Michael was an avid Buffalo Sabres fan as well as a NASCAR fan. His sense of humor was unique and enjoyed by many. Michael was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church.

Besides his parents, Michael is survived by his son, Michael Stenzel II, whom he cherished; brother, Jeff (Belinda) Stenzel of Bergholz; sisters, Sandy (Bob) Miller of Houston Texas; and Dawn Stenzel. Michael also leaves behind four nieces, Nicole, Allison, and Sarah Miller of Houston Texas, Riley Stenzel; and one nephew, Kyle Stenzel; two aunts, Ol Chaddock and Elaine (Al) Eichin both of Titusville, FL, several cousins and special family friend, Lois Handley.

Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Friday, October 2nd from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.

Services will be held Saturday, October 3rd at 10:30 AM in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, corner of Niagara Road and Luther Street in Bergholz, with the Rev. R.P. Vogeler, officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, or a charity of one's choice.

Notes:

Michael M. Moeller, age 65, of North Tonawanda, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 30, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at home. Michael was the son of the late Melvin and Margaret Moeller. Michael graduated with an electrical engineering degree from SUNY Buffalo and an MBA from Canisius College. He was employed as an engineer in the defense industry for 40 years. He was a loving family man who enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with tractors at his family cabin in the southern tier. He was an avid outdoorsman passionate about hunting, fishing, boating, and golfing.


Michael is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pamela (nee Tucker), daughter Jennifer (Christopher) Nebelecky, son Michael Moeller Jr., dogs Maddie, Holly and grand-dog Nutmeg. Also survived by his brother Jeffrey (Brenda) Moeller. Michael has many nieces, nephews, cousins and brother and sister in laws who have been an important part of his life. He was predeceased by his brother Gregory Moeller.



Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Michael's life and honor his memory on Wednesday from 5-8 PM, and on Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver Street, North Tonawanda. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM from Our lady of Czestochowa Church, 626 Oliver St., North Tonawanda. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice or Roswell Park Cancer Institute. The family wishes to thank the staff at Niagara Hospice for their compassionate care during Michael's final days.

Randy M. Stoelting, 62, of Ransomville and Pekin entered into rest unexpectedly on December 04, 2022, at ECMC. Randy was born on July 24, 1960, to the late Marvin and Phyllis (Nee Mielke) Stoelting. He attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School till 8th grade going on to graduate from Niagara Wheatfield High School and the University of Buffalo, receiving a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.Randy worked for many years as a laborer with the family business, Stoelting Machine Inc. in the Hamlet of Bergholz, until his retirement. After retirement, he found himself carrying out the duties as a funeral assistant, being the “right hand man” to his dear close friends Stephen and Brad at the Hardison Funeral Home Inc. and helping Stephen assist several other funeral homes in the area. He loved to spend time with his family and friends going to raffles, parties and enjoying, food and a few cold Mountain Dews. Randy along with his parents and brother were life members of St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Randy his father, and brother were also life members of Tri-Community Ambulance Inc. with over 20 years of service His three children were his entire world, until his first granddaughter Lucy was born on December 3rd, 2020, Randy loved their weekly babysitting days, Tuesdays and Thursdays were Lucy and Papa days. On November 15th, 2022, his second granddaughter Alessia was born and even though their time together was short he absolutely loved her and cherished their time. Randy’s third granddaughter Clare joined this world on December 6th, 2022, shortly after his passing, but it was known that he already loved her and will continue to in spirit.Surviving are his children; Justin (Katie) Stoelting, Kari (Nick) Piazza, Kaylee Stoelting; his granddaughters, Lucy Stoelting, Alessia Piazza and Clare Stoelting; several aunts, an uncle, many cousins, and many dear friends who were more like family. Besides his parents Randy is predeceased by his brother Kevin Stoelting.A graveside service will be held privately. Burial will be in St. Andrew Lutheran Church Cemetery. Kevin R. Stoelting born in Niagara Falls, New York on September 8, 1964, he was the son of Marvin and Phyllis (Mielke) Stoelting. Kevin attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and was a 1982 Graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School and 1984 graduate of Niagara County Community College. He worked as an arborist, machinist, mechanic and welder at the family business, Stoelting Machine, Inc. for his whole life. Kevin was a lifetime member of Tri-Community Ambulance Service, Inc., member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Pekin, where he was the head chowder chef, and he shot darts in the T-NT electronic dart league. Kevin loved his family and friends, helped anyone in need, and cherished every moment spent with his nieces and nephew, Kari, Kaylee and Justin. Kevin entered into rest and was called to his heavenly home on December 14, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Buffalo, New York at the age of 51.

Predeceased by his mother in 2010, he is also survived by his father and a brother, Randy. At Kevin's request, a graveside service was conducted by the Rev. R.P. Vogeler, in St. Andrew Lutheran Cemetery on December 18, 2015, with no prior visitation. Memorial contributions may be made To St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

BUFFALO — Daniel A. "Dano" Wolf, 42, of Buffalo, NY, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Tuesday January 17, 2012 at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Margaret (Lasher) Wolf (Richard E. Baldwin) of Buffalo, NY, and the late Gerald C. Wolf.

Daniel attended local schools including Niagara Falls High School and the former Trott Vocational High School. He was employed as a carpenter for Warren Solariums, Inc., in Tonawanda, NY. He also worked as a bartender and bouncer for several area establishments. Daniel was an avid dart player and participated in several local tournaments. He also enjoyed watching movies and golfing.

In addition to his mother; he is survived by two children, James M. (Tiffany) Wolf of Niagara Falls, NY and Kayla D. Haren of Florida; two grandchildren, James Wolf, Jr. and Aaliyah Wolf; sisters, Lori Wolf, Mary (Richard) Keller, both of Niagara Falls, NY; one brother, Glenn (Jean) Wolf of Niagara Falls, NY; his nieces and nephews, Richard Wolf, Ashley Wolf, Brandon Steinman and Jessica Williams; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 21st from 3:00 - 6:30 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will follow at 6:30 PM with Rev. Roy Herberger officiating. Interment at the convenience of the family will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston,NY.
