SCHULZ - Benjamin W. Schulz, 90, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Paul (Adeline) Fretthold, 154 Linwood Ave., North Tonawanda, Thursday (Sept. 30, 1971) after a brief illness. Mr, Schulz was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and operated a grocery and meat market 45 years. Besides Mrs. Fretthold, he is survived by two sons, Erwin H. Schulz of Tonawanda and Wilbert H. Schulz of Wiiliamsville; also surviving are eight grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. He was the husband of the late Rosa A. Schulz, who died Jan. 1, 1971. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fretthold Funeral Home. Inc., 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Road, North Tonawanda, where services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Edward C, Goehner will officiate. Interment in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Mrs. John (Barbara) Elzer of the Town of Wheatfield and Mrs. John (Linda) Gullo of Niagara Falls; a son, Ronald Schulz, serving with the U.S. Air Force; three grandchildren; a brother , Wilbert (Dorothea) Schulz of Williamsville and a sister , Mrs. Paul (Adeline) Fretthold of North Tonawanda and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fretthold was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and the Ladies Guild. She is survived by her husband, Paul Fretthold; two sons, Paul and John Fretthold, both at home; a brother, Wilbert (Dorothea) Schulz of Williamsville and several nieces and nephews; sister of the late Erwin H. Linda L. Gullo (Schulz) age 74, of the Town of Wheatfield, went to be with her Lord, peacefully on February 12, 2022. Linda was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She had worked as a clerk for the Niagara Falls Medical Center, and as a Heath Associate for the Niagara Falls Board of Education. She had also been a volunteer with the Health Association of Niagara County. She was the daughter of the late Erwin H. and Helen L. (Demsky) Schulz.
Beloved mother of Dena M. (John) Peterson, Jeffrey M. (Jennifer) Gullo, and Kim M. (Earl Zortman) Marchese. Grandmother of Domenic, Antonio, Lucietta, Samantha, and Jenna. Sister of Barbara (Joseph) Elzer-Michno and the late Ronald Schulz. Sister-in-law of Jane Schulz, aunt of Katelyn (Jeffrey) Pantano, great aunt of Maisy. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Friday from 3:00 – 7:00 PM. Ronald James Schulz, age 64, of Niagara Falls, was called by his Lord and Savior on
February 2, 2021 to join family and friends in his everlasting heavenly home. Ron was born Oct. 20, 1956 to Erwin and Helen (Demsky) Schulz. He attended schools in North Tonawanda and Tonawanda, graduating from Tonawanda High School in 1974. He served
in the U.S. Air Force from 1976 until March 4, 1984. Ron was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Moriah from his first marriage, his in-laws, Reverend Lawrence and Betty Herfurth, and his brother in-law, John Elzer. Ron married Jane Herfurth on October 5, 1986. They adopted their loving adopted daughter from Guatemala, Katelyn Suzanne, at the age of 8 months in July 1993. Ron is survived by wife, Jane, daughter Katelyn (and Jeff) Pantano (and granddog Nugget), sister Barbara (Joe) Elzer Michno, sister Linda Gullo, brother-in-law John Herfurth and several nieces and nephews; Dena, Kim, Jeff, Samantha, Jenna, Lucietta, Dominic, Tony, Deanna, Katharine and Mark. Ron was so looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild this summer. Ron was employed as a Quality Engineer at various local companies, beginning at Trico and retiring from Caplugs. Ron loved most sports, especially football. He played football while in the Air Force. He also enjoyed camping, boating, golfing and fishing. Friends were always welcome to stop by for a campfire. Traveling with family and friends gave him great enjoyment, along with his Harley and 63 Harley T-shirts that he bought throughout his travels. Ron was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he was involved in the music program and served on the Board of Elders.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 6:00 PM. The family wishes to share that due to Covid they understand if friends are unable to attend at this time.
