He was taken to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival. He held many political offices, being town councilman at the time of his death. He was a justice of the peace for 14 years, former school tax collector and former assessor. He was a member of the Adams Fire company and the St. Paul's Lutheran church, East Felton street. He is survived by one brother, Van of Wheatfield, and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Brack of Twining, Mich. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 3:30 from the residence with the Rev. city last Saturday for a visit
in Florida.
Mrs. Plaster was born July
7, 1882, in Bergholtz. Her husband
was P a u l P. Plaster,
deputy c i t y controller, who
died in February 1959.
Mrs. Plaster was active in
the Trinity Lutheran Church
and its Guild and Missionary
League.
Surviving are a daughter,
Mrs. J a m e s W. Strasburg,
Lewiston; four sisters, Mrs.
Julius Greinert and Mrs. Benjamin
Schulz, both of North
Tonawanda; Mrs. R u d o l p h

He was found next to his

in Niagara Falls Boulevard, and
was pronounced dead on arrival
at the hospital. Reports of an
autopsy were inconclusive today.
Born in Pontiac, Mich., he

for the last 35 years.

WHEATFIELD - Florence I. DuBois, a worker at the Nabisco plant in Niagara Falls, died Monday (April 12, 2004) in Elderwood Health Care at CrestWood, Wheatfield. She was 91. Born Florence Lemke in North Tonawanda, she attended local schools. She worked at the Nabisco plant in Niagara Falls for 15 years before her retirement and was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz.
She enjoyed traveling and activities at the Wheatfield Senior Citizens Center, according to her son, Richard Lemke of North Tonawanda.
Her husband of many years, William, died in 1981.
Besides her son, survivors include a brother, Wallace Lemke of Wheatfield; three sisters, Naomi Kreppenneck of Cambria and Betty Ernst and Alice Lewis, both of Wheatfield; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 P.M. Sunday in Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Niagara Road and Luther Street, Bergholz. Burial will be in Holy Ghost Lutheran Cemetery, Bergholz

WHEATFIELD — Wallace Lemke, age 96, of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home on August 15, 2012 at the Northgate Health Care Facility. Born in the Town of Wheatfield on September 23, 1915, he was the son of the late Edward and Ella (Werth) Lemke.

Wallace was a lifelong member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Wheatfield, exempt member of the St. Johnsburg Fire Company, where he's been a member since 1941, was employed at the Wurlitzer Company for 40 years and later at Voss Mfg.

Survivors include a sister, Betty Ernst of North Tonawanda; two grandsons, Steve Sterry, Jr. and David Sterry. He was predeceased by his wife, Agatha L. Lemke on January 30, 2000; and three sisters, Florence DuBois, Naomi Kreppenneck and Alice Lewis.

A private interment will take place in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Wheatfield, with a memorial service to follow at a later date, in the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME.

WHEATFIELD — Alice M. (Lemke) Sherwood-Lewis, age 88, of Wheatfield, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, June 3, 2012, after a brief illness at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. Born in North Tonawanda, NY, on February 8, 1924 to the late Edward and Ella (Werth) Lemke.

Alice was a longtime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Wheatfield. She was a devoted homemaker, loving wife and mother. Alice enjoyed getting together with her family, playing cards, sewing and fishing.

Predeceased by her first husband, Leland W. Sherwood in 1972, she is survived by her husband, Charles W. Lewis. They were united in marriage on April 16, 1976; four children, Timothy (Debbie) Sherwood of Acworth, GA, Dan (Karen) Sherwood of Pendleton, Karen (Steve) Palistrant of Sanborn and Doyle (Linda) Lewis of Camden, SC; fifteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Wallace Lemke; a sister, Betty Ernst; and several nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by two sisters, Florence DuBois and Naomi Kreppenneck.

BARRINGTON, IL — Dorothy Elizabeth (Plaster) Strasburg was born in Niagara Falls, NY to Paul and Ella (Werth) Plaster on March 26, 1920, and went to heaven on August 6, 2012. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls. On June 5, 1942, she married James Strasburg. They had three children: Suzy (Steve) Hartman (Sioux Falls, SD), Steve (Debbie) Strasburg (Ann Arbor, MI), and Cindy (John) Koeneman (Inverness, IL). Also blessing her life are eight grandchildren: Steph (Mark) Boyens, Sara (Nathan) Unruh, Andrew, James and Rebecca Strasburg; David (Stephanie), Jeffrey and Michael Koeneman; and six great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Lincoln and Alexa Unruh; and Connor, Kate and Davis Boyens.

Dot enjoyed life to the fullest and was an avid golfer. She loved her Savior and was always involved in her churches' Bible studies, choir and serving opportunities. She was a founding member of Escarpment Lutheran Church (Lewiston, NY), and a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran (Barrington, IL), Redeemer Lutheran (Peoria, IL), and Immanuel Lutheran (Palatine, IL).

In August 1944, Wally enlisted in the Navy at the old post office building in downtown Buffalo, followed by Boot Camp at Sampson Naval Training Station atSeneca Lake, NY and a 12 week Radio School at Bainbridge MD. He served in thePacific Theater aboard the USS Arkansas BB33 and the USS Baldwin DD 624. In June1946, Wally returned to Niagara Falls, graduated from LaSalle High School andwent to work as a Mail Boy for American Salesbook Co. (later became MooreBusiness Forms). Spring 1947, he transferred to the NY National Guard and drilledat the Armory on Main Street. After his discharge from the National Guard, Wallygraduated from the Detroit College of Traffic Management and worked at Autolitewhere he met, then married the love of his life, Margaret Jean MacAllister.Following Autolite, he worked in the traffic departments at Hooker Chemical andThe Upson Company in Lockport. While at Upson, Wally was hired part-timeby Franklin Traffic Service (FTS) in Sanborn. After Upson closed he worked at FTS full time. Where he retired after working for many years. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran church in Niagara Falls. Wally enjoyed hunting with his family. In his later years if he shot a deer, over the two-way radio he’d say, “Boys I have work for you, but first, bring me a sandwich and beer”. He and Jean spent summers with family and friends at their homes in Saranac Lake and later on Lake Ontario. In his retirement Wally enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing and a few weeklong fishing trips in Canada. He will be dearly missed but his legacy continues through his family.

She co-founded the Niagara Falls chapter in 1970 to serve meals to the elderly, working out of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and Zion Lutheran Church.
Born in Niagara Falls, she attended Niagara Falls High School.
She was a past board member of several volunteer agencies. In 1981, she received the Heart of Gold Award from the Gannett Foundation for her community service.
Mrs. Schultz was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Church, where she was active in the choir, Women of the Church and other activities.
Survivors include a son, John, and a brother, Robert F.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1920 18th Street at Cleveland Avenue.

Betty J. Schultz, 84, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on Sunday, October 29, 2006 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, Niagara Falls, NY. Born on July 21,1922 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frederick G. and Hilda M. (Werth) Schultz. On May 29, 1946 she married Edward J. Schultz. He predeceased her in 1989. Mrs. Schultz was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. In 1970, Betty founded Meals on Wheels in Niagara Falls, NY where she served as Executive Director for many years. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was active in choir, Women of the Church, and other activities. Mrs. Schultz held board positions on the boards of many volunteer agencies: Betty received several awards for her volunteer service, including the "Heart of Gold" Award for community service in 1981. She was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda and an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed the distinction of being the church oldest member, and the matriarch of the Kopp family. She was an excellent cook and baker, a championship bowler, and an avid golfer. She was also a master knitter and enjoyed reading and playing Rummikub, Scrabble and various cards games, especially Pinochle. Her love of sports was legendary. She was an avid Bills fan and watched all NFL and college games. She loved Nascar as well and attended many races, rooting on Jeff Gordon from the stands. She also followed tennis, golf and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. She began her career at Wurlitzer after high school and became a homemaker after marrying Harvey Loucks in 1955. Esther attended night school and received her certification as an Electronics Technician. She was employed at Moog Music in East Aurora for 9 years. Esther also enjoyed camping and traveling. She and Harvey traveled the states in a Winnebago camper for many years and were members of several RV clubs. They also traveled to Alaska, Nova Scotia, Switzerland and Norway. Beloved wife of the late Harvey Loucks; dear mother of Jan (Daniel) Krull of Ephrata, PA and Amy Loucks-DiMatteo (James Bishop) of Pendleton; grandmother of Matthew Krull, Andrew (Gayle) Krull; Rachel Bonfessuto; Brian DiMatteo and Blake DiMatteo; great grandmother of Dylan and Hannah Krull and Ethan and Lian Bonfessuto. Winston E. Moeller, age 89, of the Town of Wheatfield, died suddenly October 29, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Loraine E. (nee Walck) Moeller and son of the late Ervin and Viola Moeller. Winston was an active member at St. John Lutheran Church as treasurer, elder, school lunch program staff, and organist. Winston also served the Wheatfield community as town clerk and councilman over a 26-year period supporting Wheatfield’s growth and development. He was a member of the Wheatfield Republican Club and the St. Johnsburg Fire Co. He was active in a number of community organizations while also enjoying his time as an avid bowler.

She was born March 10, 1935, the daughter of the late Edward and Minnie Wittkop. She retired after 30 years from Riley Gear Corp. where she worked as an administrative assistant. A lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, she volunteered in many activities such as the annual Trash and Treasures. Other interests included traveling internationally, reading and crocheting.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Moriah from his first marriage, his in-laws, Reverend Lawrence and Betty Herfurth, and his brother in-law, John Elzer. Ron married Jane Herfurth on October 5, 1986. They adopted their loving adopted daughter from Guatemala, Katelyn Suzanne, at the age of 8 months in July 1993. Ron is survived by wife, Jane, daughter Katelyn (and Jeff) Pantano (and granddog Nugget), sister Barbara (Joe) Elzer Michno, sister Linda Gullo, brother-in-law John Herfurth and several nieces and nephews; Dena, Kim, Jeff, Samantha, Jenna, Lucietta, Dominic, Tony, Deanna, Katharine and Mark. Ron was so looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild this summer. Ron was employed as a Quality Engineer at various local companies, beginning at Trico and retiring from Caplugs. Ron loved most sports, especially football. He played football while in the Air Force. He also enjoyed camping, boating, golfing and fishing. Friends were always welcome to stop by for a campfire. Traveling with family and friends gave him great enjoyment, along with his Harley and 63 Harley T-shirts that he bought throughout his travels. Ron was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, where he was involved in the music program and served on the Board of Elders.

Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Monday from 3:00 - 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home beginning at 6:00 PM. The family wishes to share that due to Covid they understand if friends are unable to attend at this time.
