of St Johnsburg, died last night at the home of his parents. His death followed a lingering illness. Besides his parents, the deceased is survived by three brothers. Albert, Martin and Norman Werth of St. Johnsburg; five sisters, Miss Gertrude Werth and Mrs. Walter Rogeow of St. Johnsburg and Mrs, Edward Kick, Mrs. John Gehring and Mrs. Erwin Wolgast of the Tonawandas. and his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Achterberg of St. Johnsburg. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late residence and half an hour later at the Lutheran church, St Johnsburg. Rev. Albrecht officiating. WERTH - Albert J. Werth, 86, of the Town of Cambria, Sunday (January 11, 1981) at Lockport Memorial Hospital. Mr. Werth was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, a former employee of Allan Herschell, a member of Gratwick Hose Co., the Firemen's Benevolent Assoc., the Sanbornites Senior Citizens and the Senior Citizen Friendship Club of Sanborn. He is survived by four step-sons. Earl (Sally) Lindal of North Tonawanda, Kenneth (Allie) Lindal of Spain, Roy (Florence) Scherer of California and Robert (Marie) Scherer of Florida; four stepdaughters, Mrs. John (June) Kroening of Lockport, Mrs. Ida May Neary of Waterford, NY., Mrs. Harold (Virginia) Abt of Florida and Mrs. Robert (Fern) Schaeffer of Lewiston, N.Y., many grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; two sisters, Mrs. Martin (Esther) Herman and Mrs. George (Irma) Garlapo, both of the Tonawandas. Miss Gertrude Werth
Miss Gertrude Werth, 19 years old, died Saturday night at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Werth of the Niagara Falls boulevard, St. Johnsburg, after a lingering illness. Besides her parents, Miss Werth is survived by six sisters, Mrs. Edward Kick of Niagara Falls. Mr. Werth Dies

The death of Norman Werth, 22 years old, Saturday night at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Werth of the Niagara Falls boulevard at St. Johnsburg, was Investigated yesterday by Coroner J. E. Helwig. Werth was taken with a dizzy spell and headaches Friday. Saturday noon he became speechless and grew rapidly worse despite the efforts of several physicians. Werth was unable to swallow. His temperature and pulse were normal and his symptoms so cloudy that the physicians decided to notify the coroner. Dr. Helwig stated yesterday that death was undoubtedly due to natural causes and that no autopsy would be performed.

Besides his parents Werth Is survived by one brother, Albert Werth of North Tonawanda, and seven sisters, Mrs. Edward Kick of Niagara Falls, Mrs. Waldemar Roggow of North Tonawanda, Mrs. William Pankow of St.Johnsburg, Mrs. William Pelkey of Tonawanda and the Misses Hilda, Erma and Esther Werth of St Johnsburg.

The funeral will be held this afternoon at two o'clock from the residence and half an hour later from St. John's church, Rev. Walter Thlemecke officiating. Interment will be In St John's cemetery.

ESTHER L.K. HERMAN, age 100, a life long resident of Wheatfield, entered into a peaceful life with her Lord, on December 30, 2017 at the Brookdale Niagara residence in Wheatfield. Born August 28, 1917, daughter of the late Gustav and Anna (McGill) Werth. Esther married Martin F. Herman, who preceded her in death on July 20, 2003. She was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church, Wheatfield; and had many hobbies including sewing, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, and traveling with the Wheatfield Senior Citizens. Esther was employed for many years at the former G.C. Murphy store in North Tonawanda.
Survivors include three children, Sharon (Lee) Muir, Wayne (Lynda) Herman, and Wesley (Barbara) Herman; a daughter in law, Janet Herman; former daughter in law, Joy Herman; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by a son, "Woody" Herman; and grandson, Rodney Herman. Esther will be sadly missed by everyone, especially friends at the Woodlands Senior Apartments.

Lois M. (Urtel) Oldenburg, 87, of Mentor for the past 55 years, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Lake West Medical Center, Willoughby, OH. She was born September 19, 1931 in North Tonawanda, N.Y.

She was very devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends. She enjoyed socializing with people, making personal connections, and communicating regularly through letter writing, cards, and time spent together. She was a proud supporter of the Mentor Schools and attended many events over the past 50 years as a Mentor resident.

Survivors include her children, Eric (Aura) Oldenburg, Evan A. Koehler, Elise (Rich) Sivcovich and Gary Oldenburg, and grandchildren, Miles and Dillon Oldenburg and Caroline, Anna and Grace Sivcovich. 

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years: Gerald F. "Jerry" Oldenburg, and her mother: Hilda (Neil) Roberts.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 - 8 p.m. Monday November 19, 2018 at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060.

A lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, in Wheatfield, he was employed for 51 years at Midland Asphalt, in Tonawanda. Wayne was also a member of St. Johnsburg Fire Company, for 67 years. His hobbies and inerests included gardening, vacationing, tractors, was a Buffalo Bills fan, the companionship with his dogs, but most of all, the quality time spent with his family.Survivors include his loving wife, Lynda J. Of the Town of Wheatfield, age 81, died peacefully in the comfort of Niagara Hospice House on November 29, 2020, surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Verna Trinkwalder; wife of the late Harry Gerlach; companion of the late Gary Gath; mother of James (Mary Kay), Peter (Danielle Sawyer), Christopher (Crisanne Conley), Julianne (Brian) Taylor, and Susan (Joseph) Cunningham; grandmother of Joey and Colin Gerlach, Megan and Bailey Cunningham, Camryn Taylor, and Harry Gerlach; sister of Peter Trinkwalder and the late Thomas Trinkwalder. Judy was a 1957 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and a 1961 graduate of SUNY Cortland. A school teacher in her early years, she devoted her later years to being a full time mother, grandmother, and socialite. She was active in the Queen City Jazz Society and North Tonawanda Alumni. She loved traditional New Orleans Jazz, estate sales, the Bills and Sabres, hats, pins and any reason to wear a costume. Trinkwalder, Thomas J., 75, of Fairplay, SC, formerly of North Tonawanda, passed away September 8, 2016 under the care of Vitas Hospice, Duluth, GA. Tom was the son of Francis and Verna Roggow Trinkwalder, father of Sara Trinkwalder and Richard (Kori) Trinkwalder, grandfather of Lauren and Emily Trinkwalder, brother of Judith Gerlach and Peter (Micki) Trinkwalder, also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tom was predeceased by his former wife, Rosemary Lovett Trinkwalder, who died in 2001. He retired from FED-EX in 2008, but always returned to North Tonawanda in the summer for the annual NTHS Reunion. Tom has donated his body to the Philadelphia College of Medicine, GA Campus, to further aid in the study of Glioblastoma, Cancer of the brain, There will be a memorial service held in North Tonawanda at a later date.
