MRS. LILLIAN BECKER
Mrs. Lillian Becker, 50, of 395 Fredericka street, died Sunday morning in the Meyer-Memorial hospital, Buffalo. Born in North Tonawanda, she resided in the Tonawandas and St. Johnsburg all her life. She was a member of the Friedens Evangelical and Reformed church. Surviving are her husband, John C ; three daughters, Mrs. Hugh Parkhill and the Misses Myra and Jean Becker of North Tonawanda; three sons, Pfc. John W. Becker, home from Europe on a furlough, Robert and Wilfred Becker of North Tonawanda; a grandchild; her father, John C. Werth of St. Johnsburg, four sisters, Mrs. Albert Strassburg, Mrs. James Redding and Mrs. William Wiegand of St. Johnsburg and Mrs. William Oswald of North Tonawanda and two brothers, Louis Werth of St. Johnsburg and Raymond Werth of the town of Wheatfield. Rites will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the residence. The Rev. Theodore Mayer will officiate. Burial will bein Frieden's cemetery.

Funeral Tomorrow of Youth Instantly Killed by Hit-Run Driver on Niagara Falls Boulevard
LeRoy W. Werth Walking Along Side of Highway Near St. Johnsburg When Struck; Death Car Outdistances Pursuers; Troopers Find Headlight, Other Clues
Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon for LeRoy Wallace Werth, 19, of the Niagara Falls boulevard, St. Johnsburg, who was struck and instantly killed by a hit-run motorist shortly after 7 o'clock Saturday night as the youth was walking from his home 200 yards east of the Ward road, along the boulevard to visit friends in the central part of the village.
The rites will be conducted at 2 o'clock at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Werth, with whom he lived, and at 2:30 o'clock in St. John's church, Niagara Falls boulevard and Ward road. Rev. Walter Thiemecke will conduct the services and interment will be in St. John's cemetery.
When young Werth left his grandparent's home Saturday night he told them he was going to spend the evening with friends in the village. He was walking along the edge of the pavement when he was struck. Harry Sweet, residing on the Ward road, a short distance north of the boulevard, witnessed the accident and pursued the driver of the death car but was soon outdistanced on the boulevard.
Going Toward Buffalo
The automobile that struck Werth was going towards Buffalo and was traveling at a high rate of speed on the same side of the highway where the youth was walking. Werth was lifeless when persons reached him a few minutes after he was struck.
Coroner J. E. Helwig of North Tonawanda was summoned and state troopers were notified. Dr. Helwig found that death was due to fracture of the skull and possible internal injuries.
The body was removed to Hamp's mortuary on Adam street in Tonawanda.
State Troopers R. R. Reagan and F. T. Bock, working on the case, found a head light that had been knocked from the automobile when it struck Werth. Through this and other clues, not disclosed, it is understood that they expect to make an arrest shortly in connection with the tragedy.
Police of the Niagara Frontier are lending their assistance to the troopers in a search for the driver of the car that hit the man.

Of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at her home under the care of her family and Niagara Hospice. She was born in North Tonawanda, NY, on January 1, 1923, the daughter of the late John and Lillian [Werth]  Becker.
Arline graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1941 and  had worked at Remmington Rand for a short time. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed bird watching, reading and embroidering.
Arline was the wife of the late Hugh B. Parkhill, who passed away in January of 1992.
She is survived by two sons Robert B. (Dina) Parkhill and  William H. (Claudia Herbold) Parkhill, one daughter, Barbara A. (Wesley) Herman, a daughter-in-law Linda Parkhill and a sister-in-law  Clarice Becker. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren amd many nieces and nephews.
Arline was the mother of the late Bradley J., Brian K. Parkhill and sister of the late Robert, Wilfred, John (late Marie) and Myra Becker and Jean Fink.
Her family will be present on  Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on  Friday at 11:00 AM,  with  the Rev. James R. Bastian  officiating.
Memorials may be made in her name to Niagara Hospice or to the SPCA of Niagara.

BUFFALO — Wilfred W. "Bill" Becker, of Sanborn, NY, was called to his heavenly home, on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Buffalo General Hospital. He born in North Tonawanda, NY, on July 28, 1933, the son of the late John W. and Lillian (Werth) Becker.

Bill graduated from North Tonawanda High School. He served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed with Kimmins Construction Company and later became a mechanic with Maerten's Motor Service in North Tonawanda, for over 30 years, before retiring in 1998.

Bill was a former member of Friendens United Church of Christ. He will be remembered as always willing to help his neighbors whenever the need arrived.

Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Clarice (Ferchen) Becker; three daughters, Barbara (Gregg) Gross of Sylva, NC, Diane (Gary) Marshall of Sanborn and Cathy (Kevin) Freiert of Salem, CT; five grandchildren, Derek (Julia) Robinson, Heather (Mike) McCullen, Jamie Freiert, Amber and Taylor Marshall; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Matthew Robinson; one sister, Arline Parkhill; a sister- in-law, Marie Becker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late John W. "Jack", Robert, Jean and Myra Becker.

PFC Strassburg Killed in Action
Private First Class Alton W. Strassburg, of the Ward road, RFD1, Niagara Falls, was reported killed in action in France on August 16, according to a telegram from the U.S. War department received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Strassburg, of the same address. He was inducted into the army on March 19, 1941, and received his infantry training at Fort McClellan, Ala., and later was sent to Camp Shelby, Camp Patrick Henry and Fort Meade. Early in last November he was sent to North Africa and, after two months service there, was transferred to Italy. No word was received from him after leaving Italy. A brother, Wilfred, is serving with the Quartermaster's corps in France, while another brother, Glenn is with the Tank corps at Camp Campbell, Ky. He is also survived by another brother, James, at home, and by four sisters, Genevieve. Marion, Annabelle and Betty Ann, all at home.

Donnel was an active member of St. Johnsburg Fire Company for 55 years, and enjoyed fishing, camping and yard work. Predeceased by his wife, Sharlene "Sherry" (Ensminger) Werth on August 28, 2006. They were married May 26, 1962. Survived by three children, Lisa (Scott) Munro of Lewiston, Todd (Michelle) Werth of Boardman, OH and Timothy Werth of Gasport; grandchildren, Cory Draper, Kaitlyn Munro, Kelsey (Casmir) Krul, Amanda Werth, Megan Werth, Benjamin Werth and Mary Catherine; brother in law, Roy Ensminger; and nieces, Nancy Ensminger, Diane Ensminger-Spirek and Lynda Ludwig. Eugene L. Strassburg, 68, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Wilfred and June (Beemer) Strassburg.

Eugene was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves until his honorable discharge on January 23, 1972. On November 5, 1971 he married Joanne (Scozzafava) Strassburg at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Eugene was employed by Carbon Graphite in Niagara Falls and retired in 2001 after thirty five years of service.

Eugene was an automobile enthusiast and especially enjoyed his Chevy Corvette “Black Velvet”. He also enjoyed golfing, going to O.T.B. for horse racing, and was an expert marksman. A true “warrior in life” he overcame obstacles that life presented and will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who was loved by all. Most important to Eugene was his loving family whom he especially enjoyed spending time with.

In addition to his beloved wife of forty three years, Eugene is survived by his dear daughters Stephanie (Anthony) Cecconi and Megan (Christopher) Muth; two grandchildren who he adored, Nathan Muth and Ellie Muth; his brothers and sisters Janice Strassburg, Patricia (Robert) Derba, Wilfred “Junior” (Diana) Strassburg, Duane “Bob” (Marlene) Strassburg, Roger Strassburg, Adrian “Lou” Strassburg, Karen (Robert) Brawn and Kristine Lanoye and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 27th from 3 - 8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304. Wilfred A. “Junior” Strassburg, Jr., 69, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on August 5, 2019, after a brief illness. Born in Niagara Falls on January 12, 1950, he was the son of the late Wilfred and June (Beemer) Strassburg, Sr.
Junior married his beloved wife of 42 years, Diana (Bauer) Strassburg on February 6, 1977 in Niagara Falls. He was employed for many years as a truck driver for B.F.C Corp., Mark Cerrone, Inc., and also assisted in building J & J Strassburg Trucking with his son. He was also an exempt Niagara Active Hose for over 25 years.
Junior enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids play sports. He also owned race cars that his son and nephew raced competitively throughout the area. For his accomplishments, he was awarded the Ransomville Speedway Owner of the Year Award.
Above all, Junior’s life was devoted to family. He centered his life around them and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren more than anything. He will be deeply missed.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, James (Kayla) Strassburg and Janice (Chad) Strassburg;  grandchildren, Jamie, Victoria, James, Jr., Lauren and Jason; siblings, Janice Strassburg, Patricia (Robert) Derba, Bob (Marlene) Strassburg, Roger Strassburg, Adrian Strassburg, Karen (Robert) Brawn, and Kristine Strassburg; sister-in-law, Alice Edwards, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by one brother, Eugene (JoAnne) Strassburg, his in-laws, Joseph and Minnie Bauer; and his brother-in-law Ronald Bauer.

Gerald Strassburg of Niagara Falls, died on Thursday, April 23, 2015 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, following brief illness. He was 62. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 29, 1953, a son of the late Glenn and Geraldine (Chesebro) Strassburg. He attended local schools and was a graduate of the former LaSalle Senior High School.

Gerald was employed by the Carborundum Company and the City of Niagara Falls with the public works department for 22 years. A family man, he also loved to go hunting with his friends, fishing and was an avid NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy (Gerbasi) Strassburg; his daughter, Briana Strassburg; siblings, Donald (Colleen) Strassburg; Gary (Shelly) Strassburg, both of Niagara Falls, Kenneth Strassburg of Pendleton, Richard (Kris) Strassburg, Gayle (Clint) Dawkins of Fort Meyers, FL, Cheryl (late Peter) Shevock, Lori (Robert) Mazzei of Oneida, NY; his mother and father-in-law, Bob and Val Gerbasi of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Geri (Jake) Palillo of North Carolina; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, David Strassburg; and brother-in-law, Larry Gerbasi.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 PM in THE LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM in St. John de LaSalle RC Church. Please assemble at church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
