Mrs. Frederick Werth, seventy years old died shortly after midnight last night at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Tillie W, Paschen, No. 184 Bryant street. Mrs. Werth was born in St. Johnsburg town of Wheatfield, and had resided in North Tonawanda for the past forty-two years. Surviving are a daughter, Mm. Paschen, a son, Benjamin F. Werth, two grandchildren, all Of North Tonawanda, two sisters, Mrs. August Strassburg and Mrs. Charles Stange of St. Johnsburg, and a brother, Henry Andrees of Ransomville, The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at two 'o'clock from the late residence Interment will be at Elmlawn. Rev. R. Halladay Woods of th3 North Presbyterian church, who Is vacationing in the Adirondacks will return, to conduct the funeral services. Mrs. Werth was an Invalid for the past fifty-years. Through her long years of suffering, she displayed remarkable cheerfulness and fortitude. It was these characteristics which earned her the everlasting friendship of a large circle of acquaintances.

William A. Andrees, 52 years old, died yesterday afternoon at his home on the Nash road at St. Johnsburg after a brief illness. Besides his wife, the deceased is survived by five sons, Henry, William, George, Ernest and Norman of St. Johnsburg; four daughters, the Misses Wilhelmina, Louise, Rosina and Emma Andrees; his mother, Mrs. Wilhelmina Andrees; one brother, Henry Andrees of Ransomville and three sisters, Mrs. August Strassburg and Mrs, Charles Stang (sic) of St. Johnsburg and Mrs. Charles Werth of North Tonawanda. death, of. Mrs. Ida Burmaster. 68.
formerly of North Lake street, which
occurred yesterday at the home of
her son, Kenneth Burmaster, at Oak
Ridge, Tenn. Mrs. Burmaster spent
a part of each year visiting her son
and part with relatives in Ransom-
ville. She was the widow of George
Burmaster.
Mrs. Burmaster was born in Ton-
awanda and lived in Ransomville for
the last 58 years. She was an active
member of St. Peters Lutheran
Evangelical church, North Ridge,
and the Ladies Auxiliary of the
Ransomville Fire company.

E. F. Andrees Dies at 83
Edward F. Andrees, 83, of 558 Third St., died Monday (July 6, 1970) at Memorial Medical Center after a two week illness. Mr. Andrees was a retired Aluminum Corporation of America employe and more recently had been a self employed painter. He was born December 8, 1886 in the Town of Wheatfield, the son of Henry and Bertha Andrees. He had lived in this city for about 50 years. He is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Victor Sattelburg of Oxnard, Calif. and Mrs. Marvin Voelker and Mrs. Wyland Hallock, both of this city, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held a 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hardison Funeral Home, Ransomville, with the Rev. David Musall, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, North Ridge, officiating. Otto A. Strassburg, 81, of 38 North End Ave., Kenmore, died Tuesday in Meyer Memorial Hospital, Buffalo, after a lengthy illness.
A retired carpenter, Mr. Strassburg was a member of Newfane Lodge 947, F&AM. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Alice Bailey of Newfane, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Four sisters and a brother also survive.

Struck by an automobile early Sunday morning while walking along a Lockport highway, Benjamin F. Strassburg, 55 years old, a former North Tonawandan, died several hours later in the Lockport City Hospital. According to police Strassburg was critically injured when he was hit on the Chestnut Ridge road, a few miles outside the Lockport city limits. Driver of the car was identified as Wallace Worden of 251 Caledonia street, Lockport.
Born in the town of Wheatfield, Strassburg lived most of his life here. He had been living at 32 Chestnut street, Lockport, for the past four years. He is survived by two brothers and seven sisters. The brothers are Otto of Kenmore and Walter, of Wheatfield. The sisters include the Mesdames Walter Suter, William Wurl and Edward Schroeder of North Tonawanda, Fred Zastrow and Norman Achenbach of Wheatfield, Burt Moore of Buffalo and Paul Mueller of Niagara Falls.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Achenbach residence on the Ward road. Burial will be in the Frieden's Cemetery. The Rev. Theophil Twente will officiate

SCHROEDER - Louise Schroeder, 97, of North Tonawanda, Wednesday (January 13, 1988) in Mt. View Skilled Nursing Facility after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Schroeder was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of North Tonawanda. She was the wife of the late Edward F. Schroeder who died in 1956. TONAWANDA - Henry C. Andrees, 75, formerly of 49 Adam St., died Tuesday (Dec. 1, 1970) at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo after a long illness. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, he had lived in this area all his life and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was the husband of the late Viola Broecker Andres. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Gladys L. Andrees of this city and Mrs. Sherwood (Marian) Graff, of North Tonawanda; three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Heschke, Mrs. Carl Lureman and Mrs. Philip Moll; and three brothers, William and Ernest Andrees, all of North Tonawanda, and Norman Andrees of Amherst; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held, at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Clarence Rabe will, officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. William C. Andrees, 100, a retired employee of the Wurlitzer Co. and a charter member of the Adams Fire Company and the Volunteer Fireman's Benevolent Association, died Friday (Dec. 17, 1999) in the Niagara Lutheran Home in Buffalo after a brief illness.
He was born in Wheatfield, where he worked on his parents' farm and attended St. John Lutheran School.
For 42 years, he worked at the former Wurlitzer Co. in North Tonawanda as a lumber handler and as an assistant supervisor. He retired in 1965.
Andrees was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church and a member of the Wheatfield Senior Citizens.
His wife, the former Florence M. Heschke, died in 1985.
Survivors include two sons, Edward W. of North Tonawanda and William A.; a daughter, VA Lemke of North Tonawanda; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in St. John Lutheran Church, Ward Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

He also held the office of Treasurer for the Frontier Central School District for 33 years. Ben was active in numerous community organizations and St. Mary's of the Lake Church. His outgoing personality and keen sense of humor endeared him to all. Ben is predeceased by his parents Benjamin Sr. and Gertrude Metzler Werth, wife Genevieve Looze Werth, sister Amelia Werth Doherty, and son-in-law Vito Stagliano. Ben is survived by his brother Charles Werth of Forrest Hills, NY and his children Julie Stagliano of Chicago, IL, Paula Reitz (Richard) of Rochester, NY, and Gregory Werth (Dona) of Brandon, FL. Entering the service in February
1943, Melvin trained at Samp-

A native of Niagara Falls, Zastrow was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School. He moved to Youngstown in 1953. He served in Europe with the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1949. Zastrow was a graphite machinist for Carbon Graphite Group for 43 years until he retired in 1995. He was a member and elder of St. John Lutheran Church; a life member and past commander of the VFW Post, which he also served as chaplain for 20 years; president of Branch 471, Aid Association for Lutherans , for 12 years; past president of St. John Singles and Doubles Club; and a member of the Youngstown Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, the former Shirley I. Amsdill; three sons, William F. of Lakewood, Colo., Stephen R. of Corpus Christi, TX, and John C.; and a brother, Elton of Niagara Falls. CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO — Gordon Philip Mueller, 77, of Cape Girardeau, MO, died Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Lutheran Home. He was born July 21, 1933 in the Town of Wheatfield, New York, the son of the late Paul and Edna (Strassburg) Mueller.

He attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and Niagara Falls Senior High School. In 1955 he graduated from Concordia Teachers College in River Forest, IL. He served the Lutheran Church for forty years as a teacher, musician and administrator at congregations in Cape Girardeau, MO, McCook, NE and St. Louis, MO.

He is survived by his wife, Lida; two sons, Jeffrey Mueller of Muskogee, OK and Thomas (Pam) Mueller of Houston, TX; four grandchildren; one great-grandson, Hayden; five sisters, Madalyn (late Larry) Halt, Shirley Sexsmith, Velma (late Werner) Achenbach, Nancy (William) Lange and Judith (Paul) Janowsky; also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. She retired in 1992 after 33 years with United Airlines. Paul L. Mueller, a Wheatfield native, died July 25 at his home in St. Petersburg, Fla., after a brief illness. He was 69.
A longtime Niagara Falls resident, Mr. Mueller worked as a chemical operator for the Du Pont plant in Niagara Falls for 36 years.
He was a member of Lodge 346, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, in Niagara Falls, where he served as exalted ruler for three years.
Mr. Mueller and his wife fulfilled their lifelong goal of retiring to Florida in 1997.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, the former Barbara J. Ohneth; three daughters, Lorrie J. Siffin of Clarendon, Pa., Elaine A. NORTH TONAWANDA - Longtime North Tonawanda resident Rollin R. Mueller, a General Motors Corp. retiree, died Friday in Lakeland (Fla.) Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 64.
Born in Wheatfield, Mr. Mueller was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
He worked at GM for more than 30 years, retiring as an inspector at the Town of Tonawanda plant.
Mr. Mueller moved to Lakeland about nine years ago and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church there. He was a longtime member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, where he served as an elder.
He enjoyed golfing, NASCAR and deep-sea fishing.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — Lt. Col. (Ret.) Arthur E. Wolf, 94, of Glen Burnie, Maryland, passed away on September 20, 2010. Arthur was born and raised in the Town of Wheatfield, NY, prior to moving to Maryland in 1960 in service to his country with the U.S. Army. He proudly served in the Army for 27 years when he retired and promptly went to work as a civilian for the Dept. of the Navy. Arthur was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.

SWANSON, Ruth L. Ruth L. Swanson entered Life Eternal on January 29, 2020 at the age of 88. Ruth was born in N. Tonawanda, NY on July 2, 1931. She attended St. Mark's Lutheran School in N. Tonawanda for eight years. She often referred to those years as the Foundation of her Christian walk with God. After graduating from N. Tonawanda High School, she attended Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio with honors and obtained her R.N. degree. A few years later she graduated from Pacific Christian College in Fullerton, California with her B.S. degree. Ruth met Donald Swanson (February 9, 1935 - August 28, 2018) who was attending Concordia Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis, MO. They were married on August 17, 1958. She had been planning to be a missionary nurse in New Guinea but she often said, "God had a different mission field for me." She and Don were blessed with three beautiful children: son Jonathan, daughter Mary and son David. The family was active together in full time ministry in many parts of the USA and Hawaii. Ruth continued to have passion for the churches around the world and for about 10 years she visited with Christians in Africa, Samoa, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, New Guinea, Central America and Madagascar especially after her children were grown. Ruth continued to share those mission experiences at many churches in the USA. In 1990 she was commissioned as an associate in ministry and she and her husband Don worked together as a team. Ruth loved life and shared that zeal openly. Many times she remarked, "I pray that someone might have been affected to grow as a Christian because of my life." Services will be held at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 1700 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID on Saturday, February 8th at 1PM.

Life Legacy

Marla B. (Zastrow) Hansen, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital. She was 51. She was born in Lewiston on February 28, 1964, a daughter of the late Elton F. and Berylmarie (Sawyer) Zastrow. She attended local schools and graduated from LaSalle Senior High School in 1982. Marla then attended Buffalo State College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Education.
She was a longtime member of Riverside Presbyterian Church and she enjoyed reading (especially Stephen King), photography, wine collecting and attending independent wrestling events but most of all she was a loving wife and mother.
Marla is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Francis “Frank” Hansen and two daughters: Janine (Michael Caldarelli) Hansen and Jennifer (Andy Winters) Hansen. She is also survived by two siblings: Mark and Marshall Johnson. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Martin Johnson.

Randy worked as a bartender and waiter for many local restaurants in Western New York. He loved music and was a triple drummer for the Hamburg K Percussion Line.

Beloved husband of Diane (Barrie) Mellenthine; stepfather of William (Anita) Fralick, James Fralick, Michael (Kristen) Fralick and Leah Rammacher; grandfather of Riley, Tristin, Kyran, Taylor, Mikayla and Madison; brother of Douglas (Sherry) Mellenthine of Batavia. SANBORN - Bruce V. Wolf, 41, of Griffin Street, died Wednesday (Nov. 25, 1992) in Buffalo General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was born on April 3, 1951, in Niagara Falls, the son of Edwin and Alice (Haseley) Wolf. He had resided in Sanborn throughout his life.
He was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
He worked at the Saginaw Plant of the Chevrolet Division in Buffalo for 10 years.
Wolf is survived by his wife, Laurie R. (Feger) Wolf; three daughters, Michelle Wolf, Melinda Wolf and Jessica Wolf, all of Sanborn; a son, Jason Wolf of Sanborn; his mother, Alice Wolf of Sanborn; a sister, Susan Wolf of Sanborn; several aunts and uncles.
His father died in 1986.
