    real estate property upwards of
    $1,000 and personal property upwards
    of $1,000 to the widow.

    PEKIN, Dec. 19.—Funeral-services
    will be conducted Wednesday
    for William Strassburg, 65, founder
    of the William Strassburg & Sons
    well drilling business.
    Mr. Strassbourg died Saturday
    (Dec. 17, 1955) in Niagara Falls
    Memorial Hospital .which he entered
    Thursday after suffering a
    stroke earlier in the week. He had
    been in poor health since suffering
    a stroke six years ago. A son,
    Harland Strassburg, at home, has
    been operating the business.
    Mr . Strassburg Was a lifelong
    member of St. Andrew's Lutheran
    Church here and a charter member
    of the Pekin Volunteer Fire Co..
    He was also a member of the Sanborn
    Lions Club.
    Born Mav 27, 1890, in Bergholtz,
    he was the son of the late Christ
    arid Wilhelmina Grassman Strass-
    burg.. He was married on June 26,
    1913, to Emma Trippensee. He
    founded the well drilling firm in
    1913.
    Survivors in addition to his wife
    and son, Harland, are three other
    sons, Orville Strassburg, Lockport,
    Everen and Myrlin Strassburg, both
    of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Mrs.
    Lee Farquharson, Wilson: four sisters.
    Mrs. Herman Mielke, Mrs.
    Edward Wcndt. Mrs. Fred Van
    DeWater. ail of this village, and
    Mrs. Louis Horacek, Rochester; a
    half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Strassburg,
    Santa Monica. Calif.; two brothers.
    Phillip Strassburg, Sanborn, and
    Christ Strassburg. North Tonawanda.:
    and nine grandchildren.
    Services will be conducted at 2
    p.m. Wednesday at the Pike Funeral
    Home. Sanborn, and at 2:30 o'clock
    at St. Andrews Church by the Rev.
    Edward K. Jeschke.. Burial will be
    in St. Andrew's Cemetery.

    Myrlin K. Strassburg, of Niagara Falls, NY,  passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019, after a brief illness and  in the loving care of his family.   Myrl was born on July 15, 1926 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late William G. and Emma E. [Trippensee] Strassburg of Pekin, NY. 
    He graduated from LaSalle High School in 1944 and served in the US Army during World War II,  both stateside and  Europe.
    Myrl was employed with Sears Roebuck in Niagara Falls and at the Summit Park Mall for over 35 years and was  a member of Grace Lutheran Church. 
    He was a resident of the Town of Wheatfield and a special man who could light up every room with his warm smile and kind heart.
    He loved his family, friends, Buffalo sports teams and a good cup of coffee. 
    Myrl was the beloved husband of 49 years to the late Betty [Curtright] Strassburg, who passed away in 1997.   
    He is survived by sons Loren K. (Pheona) Strassburg, and Scott W. (Wendy) Strassburg, six grandchildren Erika, James, Loren Jr. (Three), Coulton, Aiden and Mason, two great granddaughters Paityn & Paisley, also many nieces, nephews, special neighbors and the coffee clutch. 
    Myrl was the brother of  the late Harland, Orville (Mary), Everen (Hope), Sylvia Strassburg and Verna (Lee) Farquharson. 
    His family will be present on Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 12-2 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, with the Rev. Benjamin Bahr officiating, followed by military honors.

    WILSON - Verna Garnet Farquharson, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, after a short illness. Born December 26, 1917, Verna was the daughter of the late William and Emma (Trippensee) Strassburg of Pekin, NY. She was the wife of the late Lee Farquharson, longtime Highway Superintendent of the Town of Wilson. Verna was a member of the Wilson community for more than forty years, when she returned to Pekin to help raise her grandsons. Verna was known as a quiet Good Samaritan who regularly cared for family and those she knew in need; for her commitment to the congregation of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wilson, and for her faith in God. She was dedicated to her family, and attended seventy years of Ransom Family reunions. At age 86, she traveled to Brazil to celebrate her granddaughter's first birthday. Verna passed away among family, under the care of Niagara Hospice, in the house in which she was born. Verna is survived by her son, Daniel Farquharson of Alexandria, VA; son, Dennis, daughter-in-law, Arlete and granddaughter, Anne Farquharson of Ribeirao Preto, Brazil; daughter, Sylvia Gugino, son-in-law, Brian and grandsons, Lee and Glenn Gugino of Pekin; her brothers, Everen Strassburg and Mrylin Strassburg of Niagara Falls; and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Lee in 1981; and by her brothers Harland and Orville. Verna cherished contacts with friends and extended family throughout her life. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 18th at 11:00 AM in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 Young St., Wilson, NY, with the Rev. Ron Haefer officiating. Following the ceremony an open house for family and friends will be held at Verna's home, 3166 Upper Mountain Rd., Pekin, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent for community aid to St. Paul Lutheran Church, PO Box 490, Wilson, NY 14172.

    NIAGARA FALLS — Everen G. Strassburg, of Niagara Falls, New York, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2012, in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY. He was born in Pekin, New York, on December 20, 1922, and was the son of the late William G. and Emma E. (Trippensee) Strassburg.

    Mr. Strassburg graduated from LaSalle High School in 1941. He served with the US Army, during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Strassburg was employed as a manager with the Electro-Minerals Division of the Carborundum Company for over 43 years, before retiring in 1985. He served as a longtime member of the Niagara Wheatfield School District Board of Education and for a time as the President. He belonged to the Pekin Fire Company for many years and played the trumpet in the fire company's band. He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Pekin as a youth that was founded by his grandfather. Recently, he was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church.

    Mr. Strassburg is survived by his wife of 64 years, Hope A. (Forster) Strassburg; two sons, Bruce E. (Denise) Strassburg of Wilson, NY, and Chris B. (Sheila) Strassburg of Lewiston, NY; and four daughters, Heather R. (H.Cal) Squires of Sarasota, FL, Jennifer A. Strassburg of Salt Lake City, UT, Valorie A. (Kevin) Marrott of Ellisville, MO, and Layne M. (Larry) O'Bryant of Puyallup, WA. He is also survived by one brother, Myrlin K. (late Betty) Strassburg of Wheatfield; and by twenty grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Harland and Orville Strassburg and Verna Farquharson.

    The family will be present on Saturday for visitation from 10-11 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM. Memorials may be made in his name to the American Legion Post #969, Sanborn, NY or to the Pekin Fire Co., 3024 Upper Mountain Rd., Sanborn, NY 14132.

    SALT LAKE CITY, UT - Jennifer Audentia Strassburg, 61, longtime resident of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away on July 4, 2014, being cared for by her three sisters in Puyallup, WA, having suffered many months with the effects of cancer. She was the daughter of Hope Forster Strassburg and the late Everen Strassburg. She was born in Niagara Falls on November 27, 1952.

    Jennifer was a graduate (1970) of Niagara-Wheatfield HS, excelling in music, academics and sports. She worked for the Town of Niagara for many years supervising the park at Nevada Avenue School. Jennie was a fine trumpeter who was a member of the Niagara Falls Concert Band. Her undergraduate degree in education and music is from Brigham Young University (1974). She was a member of the BYU Marching Band which performed at the presidential inauguration of Richard Nixon. Her graduate degree in school curriculum and administration is from University of Phoenix.

    Jennifer's career as an honored music teacher spanned almost three decades. She taught, coached and directed countless choirs and musicals at West Lake Jr. High School in Salt Lake City, UT. In 1988-89, she was named Granite District Education Foundation Teacher of the Year, and served as a Foundation Board Member until retirement. In 1995-96, she was awarded Teacher of the Year for the Granite District. She was her district's teachers union president for two years and a Teacher Mentor from 1996-2002.

    After her retirement from teaching, Jennifer kept active with other employment managing a law firm, serving as interim chair for the "Belle S. Spafford Endowment" in Social Work at the University of Utah, working as the director of curriculum for 22 campuses at the Center for Excellence in Higher Education, and helping to develop an online business with her sister, Heather. Jennifer was an avid audiophile, loving recorded and live musical performances. During her life, she played tennis at a very high level helping to develop and administer Stanford University's youth program, "Tennis 'N Tutoring," in Salt Lake City. She held many stake and ward positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was especially involved as a music director, gospel doctrine teacher and a Relief Society leader. She was also an avid genealogist.

    Jennifer is survived by her mother, Hope; and her five siblings with their spouses, Bruce and Denise (Lacey) Strassburg of Wilson, NY, Heather and H. Cal Squires of Sarasota, FL, Chris and Sheila (Smith) Strassburg of Lewiston, NY, Valorie and Kevin Marrott of St. Louis, MO, and Layne and Larry O'Bryant of Puyallup, WA. She has twenty-four nieces and nephews, and seventeen great-nieces and great-nephews, all who were the "lights of her life." The Jennifer A.
