Ernestine Grawe, 68, of the Nash Road, Town of Wheatfield, died this morning at her home. Born in Germany, Mrs. Grawe came to this country and the Town of Wheatfield 62 years ago.
She is survived by her husband, Gustave Grawe, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Neumann of North Tonawanda, and Mrs. Arthur Peiper, town of Wheatfield; six sons, Edmund, George, and Walter, of the town of Wheatfield; Herman and Benjamin of North Tonawanda, and Phillip of Tonawanda. Mrs. Grawe leaves also 35 grandchildren, one great grandchild, three sisters, Mrs. Jacob Kline, town of Wheatfield, Mrs. William Achterburg, town of Pendleton, an Mrs. AIbert Broecker of Pekin.
The funeral will be held Sunday at two o'clock from the late residence and 2:30 from St. John's church, St. Johnsburg, the Rev. Walter Thiemecke officiating. Burial will be in St. Johnsburg cemetery.

Mr. Grawe is a member of St, John's Lutheran Church and the St. Johnsburg Fire Company.
Surviving besides his wife, the former Minnie Heubner; are four sons, Wilbur, Town of Wheatfield; Edwin, Buffalo; Howard, Natural Bridge, N.Y., and Donald, Port Lavaca, Tex.; two daughters, Mrs. John DeVantier, Town of Wheatfield and Mrs. Homer Matheson, Childeraburg, Ala. Herman J. Grawe, 61, of 65 Fredericka St. died suddenly Saturday afternoon while at work at the Buffalo Bolt Company, Division of Buffalo-Eclipse Corporation. Mr. Grawe was born in Johnsburg and had been a resident of North Tonawanda for the past 37 years. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, nee Riedel. He was the father of Mrs. Earl Janowsky, Allan, William, Mrs. Carlton Reitch, Herman Jr. and Mrs. Frank Alliger III; brother of Edward of Johnsburg, George of Nashville, Philippineslip, Benjamin and Walter of North Tonawanda, Mrs. Charles Neuman and Mrs. Ruth Pieper. NORTH TONAWANDA - Walter H. Grawe, 70, of 3629 Klemer Road, Town of Wheatfield, died unexpectedly Saturday (Sept. 28, 1963) while visiting at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Alden (June) Golem, at Westfield. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, he conducted a monument business for 40 years and was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of the Adam Fire Co., the Tonawandas Post 264, American Legion, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Violet Cumrow Grawe; two sons, Willard W. and Lawrence W. She was the wife of the late Alden Golem. Beloved mother of Donald (Jeannette) Golem of Trucksville, PA, Donna Mae Barton, Alden (Ruth) Golem and Carol (Bert) Bullock, all of Dunkirk, NY. Grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Sister of Gloria (George) Jackson of Amherst and the late Willard and Lawrence Grawe; aunt of several nieces and nephews.

James Jon Pieper, age 85, of North Tonawanda, passed away Tuesday evening August 6, 2019 at Niagara Hospice House, Lockport. Jim was born on July 17, 1934 in Wheatfield. He was the youngest child of Arthur and Ruth (nee Grawe). He was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda graduating from the North Tonawanda High School in 1953. Jim served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a member of the Niagara Aerospace Museum and the Vintage Aircraft Group, American Legion, Sikora Post 1322, and St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Retired from Durez in 1980 after 31 years. 
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Diane (nee Wescott); two sons Timothy of Melbourne, FL and David (Cathy) of Fairview Heights, IL; one daughter Lynda (Paul) Schultz of Grand Island, NY; five grandchildren, Jonathan & Jenna Pieper, and Emma, Laura, & Rebecca Schultz; one sister-in-law Larene (Hall) Pieper, one-brother-in-law, Arthur (Chun) Wescott, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be arranged for Daniel A. Grawe, a truck driver, who died July 15 in Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo, after a motorcycle accident in Depew. He was 56. The Niagara Falls native was a graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School, Sanborn. Mr. Grawe was an Army veteran who served in Korea.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycling, gardening, camping and traveling.
Mr. Grawe was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Newfane.
He was a driver for ABF Freight of the Town of Tonawanda.
His minister, the Rev. Wayne Jagow, said family members are staying by the side of his wife of 32 years, the former Franziska Hepper, who was injured in the same accident.
Mr. Grawe also is survived by three daughters, Melissa Lemieux of Arlington, Vt., Nicole of Niagara Falls and Jennifer of Denver; and twin sisters, Margaret Failing and Martha Darlak, both of Wheatfield.

A Niagara Falls man whose motorcycle was struck by a car in Depew died early Thursday in Erie County Medical Center, leaving his family mourning his death and maintaining its vigil for his wife, who was critically injured in the same collision.
Daniel A. Grawe, 56, of Niagara Falls Boulevard, who was driving the motorcycle, died at 2:20 a.m., after he had taken a turn for the worse the night before.
His wife, Franziska, 52, remained in critical condition in the medical center.
"My heart just goes out to their three daughters," said the Rev. Wayne F. Jagow, their minister at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilson. "They're grieving on one side and having hope on the other. What a tension, in terms of emotions."
The Grawes were riding their motorcycle in Depew on Monday when the vehicle was struck broadside by a car at George Urban Boulevard and Transit Road shortly before 11 p.m.
Witnesses have told police that the car went through a red light before striking the Grawes' motorcycle.
The driver of the car, Jacob A. Hirsch, 19, of Depew, has been charged with two counts of vehicular assault, authorities said. Other possible charges are pending.
Following the accident, family members converged on the Trauma Intensive Care Unit in ECMC, where Franziska Grawe remained sedated in one room with a severe head injury, while her nearby husband was conscious before his condition got worse.
"When we went up there, he was aware what was going on, even though he couldn't communicate," Jagow said. "His daughters explained that things were OK with Fran. At one point, he was getting very agitated, because he wanted more information on her."
Even after Daniel Grawe's death, the hospital vigil continued by his wife's bedside late Thursday.
"This is one layer of tragedy upon another layer," Jagow said. "No matter what happens with Fran, this is a family that has been shattered by an irresponsible act."

Survivors include her loving husband, Marlin Andre Lemieux. They were married April 3, 1993; three children, Dalton (Christina) Lemieux, Hunter Lemieux and Lynnea Lemieux; Her mother "Marty"; a sister, Geanette (Joel) Prohaska; brother, Glen (Jody) Darlak; and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Robert Darlak.
Claudette was sometimes called Mama Claud by her many extra kids (friends of her children, players on teams, etc.) and Mayor, because you never went anywhere without running into someone who knew her.
