Widely Known Tenth Street Resident Passes After Short Illness
William H. Neubauer, of 752 Tenth street, died at his home this morning, following an illness of three weeks. He was 66 years old. A native of Wheatfield, Mr. Neubauer has lived in Niagara Falls for the past 40 years. He was employed at the plant of the Aluminum Company of America for 35 years and had been retired for several years. He was a member of the Aluminum 25-year club and had a wide circle of friends, among whom he was held in high esteem. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Augusta (sic) Neubauer; one son, Edward Neubauer; three daughters, Clara and Martha Neubauer and Mrs. Grace Gall; two brothers, Philip and George Neubauer, and two sisters, Mrs. Rose Grose and Mrs. Minnie Reid, all of this city, and a third brother, Christ (sic) Neubauer, of Buffalo. Three grandchildren also survive. The funeral will be held from the family home at 2 p. m. Sunday. with services at 2:30 p. .m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church. Cleveland and Eighteenth street, with the Rev. Gustav H. Ziemer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.

George W. Neubauer, 421 Eighth street, veteran employee of the Aluminum Company of America, died early yesterday morning in Memorial hospital of a fractured skull, suffered a few hours earlier in a fall down a cellar stairway at
his home. Mr,. Neubauer was descending the stairs to look at the furnace when he tripped and fell, striking his head. Born in Bergholtz. Mr. Neubauer had lived in this city most of his life and was connected with the Aluminum company for more than
40 years. He was 67 years old. He was widely known and highly respected among a large circle of older residents of the city. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mathilde Neubauer; five children. Winifred G., Lawrence A., Roy W., Richard G., and Dorothy H.. all of this city: two brothers, Philip Neubauer, this city, and Christ Neubauer, Buffalo, and two sisters. Mrs. John Reid and Mrs. Jacob Grose, also of this city. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home and at 2:30 o'clock In Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church, South avenue, with burial in Oakwood cemetery ln the family plot.

Lawrence A. Neubauer, 82, formerly of LaSalle Ave., died Saturday (Jul 6, 1996) at St. Mary's Manor nursing home after a lengthy illness. He was borm May 19, 1914 in Niagara Falls, the son of George and Mathilda (Fritz) Neubauer. He attended local schools and was a 1933 graduate of the former Trott Vocational High School. Mr. Neubauer was employed for several years at the Kimberly Clark corporation, befor serving in the Philippines with the US Army Tank Corp. during WW II. He was then employed as a tinsmith with E. I. DuPont Co., Niagara plant where he worked for more than 30 years. He retired in 1976. A member of the former Trinity Lutheran Church, he served in various capacities, including elder and head usher. He also bowled in the church league. Mr. Neubauer was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the DuPont 25 year club. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lily "Joan" Bond of Niagara Falls, a son Richard Neubauer of Castleberry, Fla., two sisters, Winifred Meade of Lyons and Dorothy Albright of Lewiston; a brother Richard Neubauer of Lewiston, five grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Roy Neubauer. Visitation wil be from 2-4, and 7-9 pm today at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road. The Rev. Collision kills 2 Niagarans
DARIEN CENTER - Two Niagara County residents and a Pittsford man died, in a three-car collision Sunday near this Genesee County community. Seven others were injured. State Police said Mrs. Beata MilleviIle, 76, of 2035 Cayuga Drive Extension, Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Regina Ferchen, 76, of 3316 Evergreen Drive, North Tonawanda, were dead on arrival at St. Jerome Hospital in nearby Batavia. They were passengers in a car driven by Harold A. Proefrock, 52, of 7168 Nash Road, North Tonawanda, who was listed in satisfactory condition today at St. Jerome. His wife, Winifred Proefrock, 49, was in satisfactory condition in the hospital's intensive care unit. Mrs. Proefrock, who had been in critical condition Sunday, is Mrs. Milleville's daughter, a hospital spokesman said. Police said Frederick Treesh, 38, of Pittsford, near Rochester, the driver of the second car, was killed instantly. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred about 11:30 a.m. Sunday. His son Frederick Treesh, 9, was in satisfactory condition in the hospital's intensive care unit. He, too, was removed from the critical list this morning. James Karl, 34, and his son, Stephen, 9, both of Henrietta, were listed in guarded condition at Strung Memorial Hospital in Rochester. They were passengers in the Treesh auto, state troopers said. Arletta Nusinov, 23, of Baltimore, Md., the driver of the third car, was in satisfactory condition at St. Jerome. A passenger in her auto Kevin Sachs, 32, of Severna Park, Md., was treated and released, troopers said. Investigators said the accident happened when the car driven by Miss Nusinov, which was westbound on Route 20, crossed the center line and struck the eastbound Proefrock auto nearly headon. Proefrock's car then skidded out of control and struck the westbound Treesh auto. Troopers said everyone except the Treeshs and the Karls was wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.

Jim was an Administrative Analyst with IBM in Buffalo for 30 years before retiring. He was an excellent 1st baseman and loved to bowl and golf over the years. An avid sports enthusiast, he was a fan of the Bills, Sabres and Yankees. Jim had been a member of Rescue Fire Company #5 for more than 65 years, was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1451 in Wheatfield, and had served as an usher and Eucharistic Minister at St. Jude the Apostle R.C. Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ann (nee Sando) Neubauer; two daughters, Diane (Joseph) Quinn and Judith (late Ronald) Williams; five grandchildren, Heather (Tom) Marinello, Shaun (fiance' Jacqueline Schmit) Quinn, Carrie Williams, Stacey Williams and Kelly (Robert) Bucci; and a great-granddaughter, Adeleia Marinello. He was a member of the Coast Artillery Corps of the U. S. Army. He was inducted January, 1942. CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH — Lawrence Neubauer, 86, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2012, surrounded by his family. Mr. Neubauer was born and raised in Bergholtz, NY, where he played drums in the Bergholtz German Marching Band and served with the US Army Air Force in WWII.

He relocated his family to Cuyahoga Falls after he accepted a job as an engineer with Goodyear Aerospace in 1959. Larry volunteered at Summa St. Thomas for nearly 25 years and enjoyed performing with Senior Singers. He was active in the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls where he taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon and Elder. He had his private pilot's license and was an avid aviator, golfer and woodworker. He received numerous professional, military and volunteer awards. He touched many lives and hearts through his work and various activities.

Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Kathleen; brother, Wallace Neubauer; and sister, Irene Ketch. He is survived by his daughters, Wanda (John) Hicks of Akron, Eileen Moore of Akron, Sue (Don) Wells of Cuyahoga Falls, Cindy Neubauer of Silver Lake, and Cheryl (Victor) Noviski of Mentor; grandchildren, James, Crystal, Casey, Dana, Michelle, David, Cory, Mark, Daniel, Sarah, and David; great-grandsons, Jeremiah, Jayden, Dustyn, Cameren, Bryden and Ayden; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

BUFFALO - Marilyn Rose Thaler (Force), age 78, of Niagara Falls, was called to her heavenly home on May 22, 2014, after a lengthy illness, in Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 30, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Marion (Neubauer) Force. Marilyn attended local schools and was an active member of St. James Ev. Lutheran Church in Bergholz. She was also a Queen Mum with the Red Hat Society and a member of the Wheatfield Seniors. Marilyn enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, and enjoyed traveling.

Marilyn was predeceased by two husbands, Harold Bucholtz and Don Thaler; and a brother, Herbert Force. Survivors include four children, Danny (Patty) Thaler of Wheatfield, Paul Thaler of Niagara Falls, Wendy (Gary) Scarantine of Clarence Center, and Randy (Deb) Bucholtz of Plancentia, CA; two brothers, Melvin Force of Niagara Falls and Edward Force of AZ; a sister, Elaine Force of Rochester; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Helen (Gaul) Boyll, 94, of Thurber Rd., formerly of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack Robert Boyll who passed away in 1981. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank Leslie Gaul and Grace Augusta (Neubauer) Gaul.

 
Helen was a 1944 graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She worked as an operator for AT&T before proudly becoming domestic engineer in her own home once her children were born. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a volunteer financial secretary for Meals on Wheels for 18 years.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, music, camping, volunteer work and Mah Jong. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Girl Scout Brownie Leader and was a member of the Lewiston Senior Club.  She enjoyed traveling and had visited places such as Sydney, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Oahu, Yokosuka Japan, and Semarang, Indonesia.

 
Helen is survived by her children, Harrison Boyll of Putnam, and Jennifer Lombardo and her husband Peter of Putnam; her sister, Jean Gaul of Bradenton, FL; her brother, John Frederick Gaul and his wife Nancy of Bradenton, FL; her sister in-law, Dorothy Goodwin of Seymour, Indiana; her grandchildren, Stephanie Anne Murray, Casey Mathew Dundon, Christopher Jack Dundon, Carlo Paul Lombardo, and Julia Anne Lombardo; her great-grandchildren, Richard Evan Murray, and Ruth Ann Murray; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, a great great niece and a great great nephew.  She was predeceased by her sister, the late Joyce L. George Collins, 80, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Raymond and Mildred (Neubauer) Collins.

George was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. He served in the U. S. Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas until his honorable discharge. On July 7, 1956 he married Theresa (Conny) Collins at Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Collins predeceased him on January 17, 2007. George was employed as a supervisor at Greif Brothers in Niagara Falls, NY for more than thirty five years until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed tennis, horse racing, vacationing and traveling. But most of all, George's greatest joy was spending time with his family.

George is survived by three children George (Catherine) Collins of Maryland, Randy Collins of Niagara Falls, NY and Terri (Ralph) Guadagno of the Town of Niagara, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by two brothers Norman Collins and Glen Collins.

LEWISTON — Mary Louise Moore, 90, of Ransomville, NY, a loving mother, grandmother and sister, died peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital. Her life began February 2, 1923 to the late John P. and Hilda (Sweet) Conrad.

Her entire life was spent in Western New York where she was employed by Moore Business Forms in Niagara Falls, until she retired in 1985 with 35 years of service. She was a Charter member of the Lutheran Church of the Messiah, Lewiston, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #374, Ransomville.

"Gram," as she was most often called, spent most of her free time knitting, crocheting and sewing for her family. Her peaceful, kind soul spent countless hours at her craft donating quilts, throws, hats, bibs and many other items to friends, hospitals, charities and whoever she came in contact who was in need. Ever patient, ever supportive, loving unconditionally, she will be forever cherished and sadly missed by her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Suzanne (late Edd) Keenan of Enfield, CT, John (Umpon) Moore of Lewiston, Kathleen (Robert) Gratz of Ransomville; grandchildren, Albert (Sharon) Keenan, Wendy (Peter) Konstantakos, Melisa Keenan, April (Adam) Doktor, Tracey Smith; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a sister, Jean Knack of Lewiston. Paul R. Thaler, 62, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on July 28, 2019 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY.  Born April 22, 1957, he was the son of the late Don and Marilyn (Force) Thaler.
Paul graduated from the former LaSalle High School in 1975.  Shortly thereafter, he took a job at the University at Buffalo working in Research Support, retiring in the early 2000’s. Paul was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and biking.  Despite the loss of his arm as a teenager, Paul managed to both cross country ski and shoot archery.  He was a former member of the LaSalle Sportsman’s Club, the Niagara County Sportsman’s Club and the Buffalo Nordic Ski Club. He was also a member of the Forestview Church of God.
Paul is survived by his loving daughter, Kristen (Bert) Dyster, his siblings, Danny (Patty) Thaler, Randy (Debra) Bucholtz, Wendy (Gary) Scarantine, as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 5th from 3 – 7 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will be held at 7 PM. Becoming suddenly ill while visiting
in this city last night,' the 14-
month-old son . of Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Beehler, Danville, Ind., was
rushed to, ML St. Mary's hospital,
where he was pronounced dead on
arrival.
The baby, Larry Richard Beehler,
and his parents were, visiting Mr.
Beehler's brother,. Edwin Beehler,
183S Niagara avenue, when he suddenly
became ill and was taken to
the. office of a physician and then
rushed to the hospital.
Coroner James W. Heary, who investigated,
said that an autopsy performed
today showed that death was
due to pneumonia. He issued a certificate
of death due to natural
causes.
The child, is the grandson of Mr.
and Mrs. Vernon L Beehler, Ransomville
and had one brother, Leslie
Beehler.
Funeral services will be held at
the Rhoney Funeral home tomorrow
at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Arthur
H Schmoyer officiating. Interment
will be in Memorial park

Sharon Lee (Collins) Ferenc, 65, of
Niagara Falls, NY passed away at home
on Monday, August 10, 2015. Born in
Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter
of Maxine (Adams) Jones of
Jamestown, NY and the late Norman
Collins.
Sharon was a lifelong resident of
Niagara Falls. She attended local
schools and graduated from Niagara
Falls High School. She was employed at various local retail stores
including the former Hills Department Store and most recently at
Sam’s Club in Niagara Falls. Sharon had a passion for animals and
also enjoyed baking and cooking. She was extremely dependable,
always putting the needs of others ahead of herself. But most of all,
Sharon loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, Sharon is survived by her three children,
Rob (Katie) Ferenc of Kenmore, NY; Melissa (Parag) Parikh of
Amherst, NY and Kristine (Craig) O’Donnell of Ransomville, NY;
five grandchildren, Tyler Ferenc and a baby on the way, Malena
Parikh, Anjali Parikh, Sydney O’Donnell and Stella O’Donnell; six
siblings, Neil (Kathy) Collins of Florida, Nadine (Bill) McKeown,
Todd (Kathleen) Collins both of Niagara Falls, NY, Joddie Olson of
Indiana, Wendy McKotch and Lauren (Lisa) Collins both of
Jamestown, NY as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also
predeceased by one brother Norman Collins.
There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at a
later date and time to be announced. If desired, memorial donations
may be made to Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo
Foundation, 1028 Main St. 4th Floor Buffalo, NY 14202.
