Funeral services for Mr. William
F. Burger. 71, Niagara road, Bergholtz,
who died at his home yesterday
morning, will be held tomorrow
afternoon at 2: 15 from the
home and at 2:45 from St. Jacob's
church, Bergholtz.
He Is survived by his wife, Amllla:
two sons, Charles' and William, and
seven daughters, Mrs. John Schultz,
Mrs. Frank Wolf, Mrs. George
Magln, Mrs. Fred Werth, Mrs.
Phillip Wendt, Mrs. Walter Holland
and Mrs. Donald Toellner. all of
this city. He Is also survived by 16
grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

and Paul Stevens, who investigated,
Mr. Buerger was
hit by a car driven by
|ard J. Wudyka, 28, of 226
East Ave., North Tonawanda,
an employe of the Buffalo
Pump Co. in that city.
It was the 33rd traffic fatality
on county roads in 1961,
compared to 29 during a sim-
ilar period.
Troopers said Mr. Buerger
was crossing the boulevard in
a north-south direction when
he was struck in the eastbound
passing lane by the
car. He was thrown about 10
feet by the impact, troopers
said.
Mr. Wudyka told police he
vas passing a slow moving
vehicle when he suddenly
saw the figure of a man
through the window. He said
before he could do anything
he felt the impact. The driver
was not held.
Born in Bergholtz, Mr.
Buerger lived in this city for
the last 48 years. He was a
retired New York Central
Railroad employee.
Surviving are a daughter,
Mrs. John Moebius, Laurel,
Md.; a brother, William H
Buerger, Bergholtz; s e v en

NIAGARA FALLS - Mrs. Rose L. Schultz, 81, formerly of Weston Avenue, died Tues. day (Nov. 30, 1976) at Memorial Nursing Home, where she had been a patient for the past three years.
Born in Wheatfield, she was a longtime resident of this city and was a member of the St. Paul-Calvary Lutheran Church and the Ladies Organization of the Church. She was the wife of the late John A. Schultz who died in 1962.
Survivors include a son, Edward J. Bergholtz Youth Attending School Here Pneumonia Victim.
Rudolph Berger (sic), 19 years old, 2009 Eighteenth street, son of Mr.. and Mrs. William Berger (sic), of Bergholtz, died late yesterday of pneumonia in Memorial hospital, following a short illness. He was an employe (sic) of the Carborundum company and attended high school here.
He is survived, beside his parents, by two brothers, Charles and William, both of this city, and six sisters, Mrs. J. Schultz, Mrs. F. Wolf, Mrs. F. Werth, and Mrs.. G. Mayer, all or this city; Mrs. Phillip Wendt, of Buffalo and Esther and Gertrude at home.

VICTIMS OF CROSSING CRASH LAID AT REST
The final chapter in the Hyde Park boulevard grade crossing tragedy which claimed the lives of a man and a woman last Tuesday was written on Christmas Eve when funeral services were held for Mrs. Florence E. Burford, 25, of 2519 North avenue, one of the victims. Services will be held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buerger, 1839 South avenue, and at St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church. Cleveland
avenue and Eighteenth street, with the Rev. Alwin Prange officiating. Interment was made in Memorial Park cemetery. The pallbearers were Paul Mehls, Reinert Wendt, Howard Fitzgerald, Kermit Haseley, Lawrence Styshems and Herman Meyers. Services for the other victim, Nicholas Prank Hanson, 29, of 36 B. street, were held at the Grldley funeral home Thursday, with the Rev. Blake B. Hammond, rector of St. Peter's Episcopal church, officiating. Interment was made in Memorial Park cemetery.

Schultz worked as the marketing manager for 42 years, until his retirement in 1982.
He was a past council president of St. Paul-Calvary Church, a post he held for nine years. He was a past chairman of the church Worship Committee, a member of the church choir and a member of the board of directors of Meals on Wheels in Niagara Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; a son, John of North Tonawanda; two sisters, Gertrude Gombert of North Tonawanda and Helen DeVantier of Warren, Mich., and two grandchildren.

Fitzgerald on January 27 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church by Reverend Gustave Ziemer. In 1949 the family moved to Wilson where she and Howard owned and operated several restaurants in Wilson and Newfane. A life member of the Order of the Eastern Star Flagler Chapter #355, her husband predeceased her in November of 2000 and Sister Edith (Ray) Wendt. Dorothy is survived by three children, Maureen (Bob) Branch of Wilson, Claudia (Ray) Gow of Holiday, FL, Howard (Suzanne) Fitzgerald Jr. of Vernhelm, Germany; and God-child and niece, Delores (Richard) Whitcomb of Newfane. She is also survived and loved by her grandchildren, Kelli (Robert) Alaimo, Traci (Travis) Taylor, Candi (RandyCurry), Kristi (John) Confer, John Gow, Laura Gow Brown; several great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Harold G. MaGinn, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, found eternal peace on April 6, 2010. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 16, 1920, the son of the late George and Ella (Buerger) MaGinn. He attended local area schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He served his country as a SSgt. in the U.S. Air Force. On February 7, 1945, he married Mildred L. Moebius in Trinity Old Lutheran Church, Buffalo, NY She has preceded him in death in December 2009. Mr. MaGinn was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls and held the position of Council President a few times and also was a Bethel Bible instructor. He loved his church and his Lord. He also enjoyed golf in his earlier days and also loved entering contests and receiving mail. Survivors include two sons, the Rev. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.

Loraine Alice's Story
Loraine Alice Buerger Taylor, 90, of Eustis, FL, formerly of Portland, CT, wife of the late Robert G. Taylor died peacefully in Florida on Sunday, May 6, 2018.
Loraine was born to William and Josephine Williams Buerger on March 13, 1928 in Niagara Falls, NY, and was baptized into the Christian faith on March 25, 1928. On August 13, 1949, Loraine and Bob were united in marriage for 35 years until Bob's death.
She will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Bonnine Labbadia and her husband Vincent of Eustis, FL, and Virginia Duffy and her husband Steven of Hanover, NH; granddaughters, Wendy Violissi (husband Frank), Heather Hetrick (husband Robert), Taylor Leeser (husband Jonathan), Tamara Engler (husband Brian), Deanna Welsch (husband James), and Ilene Olson; four great-grandchildren, Thomas, Shelby, Alex, Chloe and her loving and dear friends. She is also survived by her brother, William E. Buerger (wife Helen) of Sanborn, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, father, sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Gordon Voelker.
Loraine cherished her faith and was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, was an active member of Women of the Church, Grace Guild, and sang in the choir for over 50 years. In addition to helping at the church whenever needed, she was a familiar face in the Portland community and a dedicated volunteer for many years at every election and at the Portland Food Bank. She loved meeting new people and treasured all her friendships.
An avid gardener, she was a long-time member of the Portland River Valley Garden Club and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her time working at Middlesex Eye Physicians for 33 years and considered them her second family.
Loraine will always be remembered for her warm smile, caring and thoughtful ways, helping and giving back to others and sharing her potato soup and German potato salad.
Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, CT on Monday, May 14, 2018, from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at 11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, 183 William St., Portland, CT, with burial immediately following at the Swedish Cemetery in Portland. William "Bill" BuergerAge 86 of Wheatfield, NY, went to his heavenly home, surrounded by his loving family, on December 7, 2022. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on November 3, 1936, son of the late William H. and Josephine (Williams) Buerger. Married 64 wonderful years (May 17, 1958) to his loving wife Helen (Haseley) Buerger. Bill was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church, Bergholz where he served as a trustee and volunteered for many years. He graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1955. Bill worked for Zimmerman Builders, Town of Wheatfield Highway Dept., for various construction/carpentry builders and retired in 1994 from the Town of Wheatfield Sewer Dept (sewer foreman). Bill was a 9 year member of the Air Force Reserve and served in active duty during the Berlin Crisis. He was a long standing member of the Wheatfield Republican Club and committeeman. Bill enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, family gatherings, traveling to visit out-of-town family and was a helpful carpenter/handyman to many. Survived by his dear wife; four children, Carol (Richard) Myers, Robert (Kimberly) Buerger, Brenda (Rodney) Wise, Bruce (Kristine) Buerger; ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was brother to the late Loraine (Robert) Taylor and Helen (Gordon) Voelker.He was grandfather to the late Jeremy Myers. Friends may call on Friday, December 16 from 12-2pm at St. James Lutheran Church, 2437 Niagara Road, Niagara Falls, 14304. Service will follow at 2pm with Pastor Randy Kaminska officiating. WHITCOMB, age 85 of Lewiston, NY, formerly of Niagara Falls and Olcott, NY, was called peacefully to her heavenly home on April 28, 2023, while at the Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 31, 1937; daughter of the late Reinert and Edith (Wolf) Wendt. she attended Hyde Park School, and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. "Bunny" as many known her, was employed at the former Bier's Clothing Store, and later worked as a nanny for several families. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, which many of her family will remember her by, with various items that were made over the years. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Richard C. Whitcomb, Sr. on November 2, 2013. They enjoyed many happy times together dancing, bowling, traveling, playing cards, time spent in Florida, and listening to music. She loved to cook and have the whole family over for dinners and gatherings. "Bunny" did enjoy her sweets, especially the marshmallow peeps and circus peanuts. She was a member of the former St. Paul - Calvary Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls, and was also a member of the Eagles and Elks.Survivors include three children, Richard (Cyntha) Whitcomb, Russell Whitcomb, and Debra (Russell) Loverde; four grandchildren, Elena (Christopher) Woods, Crystal (Leon) Blanchard, Jamie (Joseph) Spadolini, and Richard Whitcomb, III. Kermit F. Haseley, 54, of Saunders Settlement Road, an inspector at Buffalo Pumps in North Tonawanda for 33 years, died Thursday (June 11, 1998) at his home after a brief illness. He was born in Niagara Falls and was an exempt member of the Sanborn Fire Company. He was a former member of the Sanborn Band and a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Haseley enjoyed bowling and fishing. BERGHOLZ — Cary R. Ferchen, age 56, of Bergholz, entered into rest unexpectedly on March 11, 2011 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on September 10, 1954 to the late Robert and Phyllis (Wendt) Ferchen.

A graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School, he later attended college and was employed as a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 2009 after 29 years of service. Cary enjoyed playing cards, gardening and was an avid sports fan, of which he followed the Yankees and Buffalo Bills.

Survivors include his wife, Laura L. (Cramer) Ferchen. They were united in marriage October 6, 1993; six children, Christopher (Michelle) Ferchen, Donna (Ronald) Licht, Timothy (Francie) Ferchen, Johathan Ferchen, Lisa (Andrew) Ferree and Erin (Michael) Jankowiak; a sister, Claudia Ferchen; four grandchildren, Savannah, Andrew, Hannah and Madison; and a aunt, Audrey Follum.

Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Jeremy W. Myers, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Friday. May 3, 2019.  He was 28.  He was born in Lewiston, New York on November 14, 1990, a son of Richard and Carol (Buerger) Myers also of Sanborn. 
Jeremy was employed by Aavid Niagara as a machine operator.    As a small child, began his love of working with his hands, he was especially mechanically gifted.  His interests were motorsports; building and dirt biking.   He loved his close family and friends immensely and was a wonderful uncle to four beautiful nieces.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Richard D. Myers, II (Isabel) of Silver Springs, MD; Jason Charles Myers of Sanborn; his sister, Kaylie Ann Myers of Buffalo; maternal grandparents, William E.  and Helen (Haseley) Buerger of Sanborn;  his four nieces, several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Herbert and Ruth (Dean) Myers.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 17th after 4:30 PM  in the Forestview Church,1250 Saunders Settlement Road, Niagara Falls, where it's Pastor Ronald Maines will conduct memorial services at 5:30 PM.  Dinner will directly follow the services at 6:30 PM in the fellowship hall of the church.  All are welcome to attend.  The Lane Funeral Home, Inc., is handling the arrangements.
