Double Gombert Funeral to Be Held Tomorrow
An 82-year-old mother and her 48-year-old son, both members of an old and widely known Niagara county family, will be buried side by side in Memorial Park cemetery following funeral services tomorrow afternoon. The mother's funeral, originally set for this afternoon, was postponed last night following her son's death in Memorial hospital.
The mother is Mrs. Augusta Gombert, widow of Ludwig Gombert, who died Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Peter Ziemendorf, 1110 Ninety-first street, following a week's illness. Her son, Philip Gombert, also of 1110 Ninety-first street, was taken to Memorial hospital last Friday and died there last night. He had been in poor health for about a year.
The double funeral will be held from the Ziemendorf home at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, with services at the Zion Lutheran church, Cayuga drive, at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. George H. Hoyer, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Mrs. Gormert (sic) was a widely known resident of the old village of LaSalle. Her son was a native and lifelong resident of the LaSalle area. He worked as a farmer all his life. His survivors. besides Mrs. Ziemendorf, include another sister, Miss Minnie Gombert; two brothers, William and John H. Gombert., and an aunt, Mrs. Fred Kuhlman.

TOWN: OF WHEATFIELD July 7 - Funeral services for William Gombert, 74, Niagara Falls boulevard; will be conducted by the Rev. Walter F.; Thiemecke at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at the John's Lutheran church, St. Johnsburg, where Mr..Gombert had been a trustee and elder for many Years. Services at the church will follow 2 p.m. services at the Hamp Funeral home, 37 Adam Street Tonawanda. Mr, Gombert died late Saturday at the DeGraff Memorial hospital, North Tonawanda, after suffering. a heart-attack.. A native of Niagara Falls, Mr. Gombert had been a farmer in the Town of Wheatfield for the last 40 years. He had been a long time member of the St John's church and was an active member of the Benevolent association at the church. For the last 15 years he had served as an assessor for the town and was a charter member of the Adam's Fire department, Nashville. Surviving are his wife, Albertine (Walck) Gombert; a son Norman Gombert, here; two daughters, Mrs. Albert Zastrow here , and Mrs. Irwin Maerten, North Tonawanda; brother, John Gombert,. NIAGARA FALLS- John H. Gombert, 90, of 1879 Willow Ave., died Saturday (Nov. 11, 1972) at the Niagara Lutheran Home, Buffalo, after a long illness. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, he lived in the Niagara Falls area all his life. He was formerly employed by the Board of Education for 30 years retiring in 1952. Mr. Gombert was a life member of St. Paul-Calvary Lutheran Church. His wife, the late Elsie Heuer Gombert predeceased him in 1964. He is survived by a daughter, Marian L. Gombert; a son, George J. Gombert, both of this city; a sister, Mrs. Louise Ziemendorf of this city, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul-Calvary Lutheran Church, 18th. Funeral Services for Former Falls Woman Wednesday Afternoon.
NORTH TONAWANDA. Feb. 6-Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon for. Mrs. Sophia A. Getman, 23 years old, 299 Bryant street, who died at the DeGraff Memorial hospital Sunday night after a brief illness of pneumonia. She was born in Niagara Falls and had lived in North Tonawanda six months, having been a resident of Wheatfield before coming here.
Mrs. Getman is survived by her husband, Harry; a son, Jack Louis: parents, Mr. and Mrs. Williams F. Gombert; two sisters, Mrs. Albert Zatrow (sic) and Miss Alice Gombert, and a brother, Norman, all of the Town of Wheatfield.
Services will be conducted at the home of Mrs. Getman's parents on the Niagara Falls boulevard at 2 o'clock and halr an hour later at St. John's church in St. Johnsburg. The Rev. Walter Thiemecke will officiate and burial will be in St. John's Cemetery.

Surviving are her husband, Philip Wendt of Niagara Falls; two step-daughters, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Ferchen of Wheatfield and Mrs. Finn (Audrey) Follum of Niagara Falls; a brother, George J. Gombert of North Tonawanda; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Paul Calvary Lutheran Church, 18th Street and Cleveland Avenue, with the Rev. Douglas R. Behm officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Calvary Cemetery.

Ziemendorf, 78, died Friday (Dec. 25, 1992) in Sisters Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born in Niagara Falls, the longtime Town of Tonawanda resident served in the Marine Corps during World War II. A retiree of Kenworthy Graphic Services of Buffalo, Ziemendorf also worked for Moore Business Forms and Manhardt Printing.
He was a past president of the Buffalo Litho Club and past treasurer of the National Association of Litho Clubs.
An avid sports enthusiast, he was a softball pitcher, as well as a coach for local amateur softball and basketball teams.
He was a former member of the Western New York and American Rose Societies and a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Hilda Muenkel; two sons, Mark of Los Altos, Calif., and Kurt of Rochester; a daughter, Carey Williams of Melrose, MA.; two brothers, Edwin and Louis, both of the Buffalo area; and three grandchildren.
Burial will be in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery.

Gladene A Morgan was called to her heavenly home on June 24, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Morgan, she is survived by her children Marlene (Joseph) Carr, Andy (Mary) Pellitieri, Tom (Su) Pellitieri, and Ann Marie (Michael) Mogenhan. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, Kathy (Aaron) White, Sarafina (Pete) Likoudis, Jessica (Christian Baker) Brunetto, Paul (Meg) Pellitieri, Drew (Andrea) Pellitieri, Patrick Mogenhan, and Nathan Mogenhan; 5 great-grandchildren, Alek and Parker White, Niko and Augustus Likoudis, and Leonora Pellitieri; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also survived by sister-in laws Nancy (late Ken) Zastrow, Jackie (late Paul) Zastrow, and brother-in-law Raymond (late Nancy) Neyerlin. She was the daughter of late Albert and Gertude (Gombert) Zastrow. Gladene attended St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from North Tonawanda High School in 1951. She became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1960 where she faithfully served as President and Treasurer of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She also led many Bible Studies throughout the years. Gladene also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She made many lap robes, pray shawls and hats that she donated to the local VA Hospital and premie hats for the Children’s Hospital She also supported many charities and missionaries throughout her life. There will be no Prior Visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 107 Scott St. (corner of William St.) Tonawanda, NY at 11 am with the Rev. Michael Dobler officiating. Burial will be private. She is survived by her beloved husband, Raymond C. Neyerlin, Jr.; her son, Kevin and his wife, Stephanie; her daughter, Kristin and her husband, Nick; three precious grandchildren, Sidonia, Tabitha and Gabriel; her sister, Gladene; and her brothers, Ken and Paul; other relatives and many friends.
