PEKIN - Mrs. Amanda Mielke, 80, of Upper Mountain Road, died today (March 22, 1979) in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston.
She was a native of Bergholtz and had resided in Pekin for the past 62 years. She was the wife of the late Elmer Mielke who died in 1965.
She was a member of St. Andrews Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and Altar Guild of the church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Delbert (Marian) Ellman, Mrs. David (Norma) Stoltzenberg and Mrs. Marvin ( Phyllis) Stoelting, of Pekin; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Donald Mielke. There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Andrews Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Albert H. Gaal officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family said contributions to the Lutheran Service Society will be acceptable as tributes. A member of the Operating Engineers union, he worked on the construction of Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston; the Grand Island Bridges; and the Niagara Power Project, Lewiston. In addition, he was a co-owner of the former Bergholz Garage. A lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church, he held various positions, including representative of the finance committee and an elder. He also was a charter member of the Wheatfield Business Association. Schmidt enjoyed fishing, bowling and euchre. A lifelong resident of Wheatfield, he also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe. His first wife, Jeanette Blaise Schmidt, died in 1975. Survivors include his second wife, the former D. Jean VanNorman; three sons, Lawrence of Fayetteville, Ga., Charles and Dennis; a daughter, Katherine Harrison of Aurora, Colo.; a stepson, Scott Nestler of Los Angeles; a stepdaughter, Lori Nestler of Amherst; two sisters, Hilda Jensen of North Tonawanda and Lavina Moll; and 10 grandchildren. War Veteran Dies Suddenly
TONAWANDA, March 20 - Robert H. Sattelberg, 30, Errick road, Town of Wheatfield, died, suddenly last evening while attending services at St. John's Lutheran church, St. Johnsburg. Mr. Sattelberg was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield and a veteran of World War 2. He was employed by the Carborundum company, Niagara Falls, for more than ten years where he was a supervisor. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church, St. Johnsburg, and the St. of the Johnsburg Volunteer Fire company and Tonawandas Post 64, American Legion. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sattelberg, Wheatfield; two brothers, Chester, North Tonawanda, and Roger, Town of Wheatfield. The body is at the Hamp Funeral home, 37 Adam street, Tonawanda, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Walter J. Thiemecke will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by Tonawandas American Legion post.

She was also a member of the Friendship Club in Sanborn.
Her husband of 49 years, Philip E., died in 1991.
Survivors include a son, Gary Sr. of Lockport; a daughter, Beverly Zdrojewski of Hartland; two brothers, Robert Witkop and James Witkop, both of North Tonawanda; a sister, Edith Strothmann of Sanborn; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was a charter member of Wheatfield Post 1451, American Legion, and a charter member of the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company and its Benevolent Association.

NORTH TONAWANDA — Norma L. (nee Mielke) Stolzenburg, age 90, of North Tonawanda, NY, was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. Born in the Town of Cambria, NY to the late Elmer and Amanda (Gombert) Mielke, she was the wife of Franklin F. Jagow, who entered into rest in 1966; the wife of David Stolzenburg, who predeceased her in 1997; and was the sister of the late Donald Mielke, Marian Ellman and Phyllis Stoelting. Norma attended LaSalle Jr. and Sr. High Schools. She had been employed as an assembler at Radatron in North Tonawanda for over 20 years. Norma was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Wilson. Her joy was her family and their time together. She enjoyed collecting recipes and was well-known for her delicious pies and homemade baked goods.

She is survived by three sons, Rev. Wayne F. (Maureen) Jagow of the Town of Lockport, NY, Daniel J. (Maria) Jagow of Coppell, TX, and Robert G. (Laura) Jagow of Lakeland, FL; six grandchildren, Rev. Andrew W. Charlie was a life-long member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Bergholz, where he served as Vice-President, Treasurer, Choir Director, and Sunday School teacher. Charlie was the former co-owner and operator of Bergholz Garage, and former owner of Kroening's Garage, in Sanborn. He was also a member of the Bergholz Fire Company, where he was a former chief, and a former EMT with Tri-Community Ambulance Service, Inc. Charlie was the son of the late Harold and Jeanette M. Schmidt. Step-son of Jean Schmidt. Sweetie to his wife of 42 years, Laurie (nee Sprenger); Dad to his two children, Wayne (Molly) and Jeanette; Grampa to his two grandchildren, Maxx and Layla; brother to his three siblings, Dennis (Laurie), Larry (Lori), and Kathy (Leighton) Harrison, and step-brother to Lori (Brian) Burgin and Scott Nestler. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and comedian, with his outgoing personality. ROCHESTER —
On July 7, 2013, I passed from the land of the dying into the land of the truly living. Heaven is now my home and there is no more sorrow, no more grief, no more tears. When you read this, I will already be enjoying eternal life with my Lord and Savior Jesus. However, as I write these words I grieve about leaving my loved ones behind. They include my beloved wife of 34 years, Dawn (Henry) Witkop, who has been my rock, along with my dear son and daughter, Adam Witkop, and Kristen Witkop. I also leave behind much loved sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law along with numerous aunts and uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews.
I will skip the part where I list all of my life's accomplishments because they don't mean much after death. In fact, they don't mean much now as I type these words. Instead I will share with you something of the utmost importance.
Life is indeed short and no one knows when their time here will be up. It is my prayer that you won't face death without knowing Jesus. The Bible states that the wages of sin is death. We are all sinners and would be condemned to an eternity in Hell if it weren't for Jesus. Jesus is the Son of God and was sent to Earth to take the just punishment for our sin as our substitute. He rose from the dead to show His victory over sin and death. To be forgiven, all we have to do is accept Jesus as our Savior. Jesus did the rest. Randy M. Stoelting, 62, of Ransomville and Pekin entered into rest unexpectedly on December 04, 2022, at ECMC. Randy was born on July 24, 1960, to the late Marvin and Phyllis (Nee Mielke) Stoelting. He attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School till 8th grade going on to graduate from Niagara Wheatfield High School and the University of Buffalo, receiving a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.Randy worked for many years as a laborer with the family business, Stoelting Machine Inc. in the Hamlet of Bergholz, until his retirement. After retirement, he found himself carrying out the duties as a funeral assistant, being the “right hand man” to his dear close friends Stephen and Brad at the Hardison Funeral Home Inc. and helping Stephen assist several other funeral homes in the area. He loved to spend time with his family and friends going to raffles, parties and enjoying, food and a few cold Mountain Dews. Randy along with his parents and brother were life members of St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Randy his father, and brother were also life members of Tri-Community Ambulance Inc. with over 20 years of service His three children were his entire world, until his first granddaughter Lucy was born on December 3rd, 2020, Randy loved their weekly babysitting days, Tuesdays and Thursdays were Lucy and Papa days. On November 15th, 2022, his second granddaughter Alessia was born and even though their time together was short he absolutely loved her and cherished their time. Randy’s third granddaughter Clare joined this world on December 6th, 2022, shortly after his passing, but it was known that he already loved her and will continue to in spirit.Surviving are his children; Justin (Katie) Stoelting, Kari (Nick) Piazza, Kaylee Stoelting; his granddaughters, Lucy Stoelting, Alessia Piazza and Clare Stoelting; several aunts, an uncle, many cousins, and many dear friends who were more like family. Kevin R. Stoelting born in Niagara Falls, New York on September 8, 1964, he was the son of Marvin and Phyllis (Mielke) Stoelting. Kevin attended Holy Ghost Lutheran School and was a 1982 Graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School and 1984 graduate of Niagara County Community College. He worked as an arborist, machinist, mechanic and welder at the family business, Stoelting Machine, Inc. for his whole life. Kevin was a lifetime member of Tri-Community Ambulance Service, Inc., member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Pekin, where he was the head chowder chef, and he shot darts in the T-NT electronic dart league. Kevin loved his family and friends, helped anyone in need, and cherished every moment spent with his nieces and nephew, Kari, Kaylee and Justin. Kevin entered into rest and was called to his heavenly home on December 14, 2015 at Mercy Hospital, Buffalo, New York at the age of 51.

Predeceased by his mother in 2010, he is also survived by his father and a brother, Randy. At Kevin's request, a graveside service was conducted by the Rev. R.P. Vogeler, in St. Andrew Lutheran Cemetery on December 18, 2015, with no prior visitation. Memorial contributions may be made To St. Andrew Lutheran Church.

BUFFALO — Daniel A. "Dano" Wolf, 42, of Buffalo, NY, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Tuesday January 17, 2012 at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Margaret (Lasher) Wolf (Richard E. Baldwin) of Buffalo, NY, and the late Gerald C. Wolf.

Daniel attended local schools including Niagara Falls High School and the former Trott Vocational High School. He was employed as a carpenter for Warren Solariums, Inc., in Tonawanda, NY. He also worked as a bartender and bouncer for several area establishments. Daniel was an avid dart player and participated in several local tournaments. He also enjoyed watching movies and golfing.

In addition to his mother; he is survived by two children, James M. (Tiffany) Wolf of Niagara Falls, NY and Kayla D. Haren of Florida; two grandchildren, James Wolf, Jr. and Aaliyah Wolf; sisters, Lori Wolf, Mary (Richard) Keller, both of Niagara Falls, NY; one brother, Glenn (Jean) Wolf of Niagara Falls, NY; his nieces and nephews, Richard Wolf, Ashley Wolf, Brandon Steinman and Jessica Williams; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
