    NORTH TONAWANDA - August H. Harms, 75, died Monday night at his home, 798 East Robinson street. He was born in Germany and had been a resident of North Tonawanda for the last 53 years. He leaves his wife, Mary, nee Wittkopf; six sons, Charles, Edward, Alfred, George and Benjamin, of North Tonawanda and Theodore of Williamsville; a daughter, Mrs. Gustav Ewald, of North Tonawanda; 17 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the residence and at 2:30 o'clock at the St. Peter's church on Thompson street. The Rev. Earl Papke will officiate and burial will be in St. Matthew's cemetery.

    Lumber City War I Vet Dies at 70
    NORTH TONAWANDA - Edward Harms, 70, of 88 Hagen Ave., died Friday (Aug. 14, 1964) in Verteran's Administration Hospital, Buffalo. He was a lifelong resident of this city, a World War I Army veteran and a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran church. He was the husband of Golda Woodrich Harms, who predeceased him. Survivors include a son, Le Grand Harms, this city; five brothers, Charles, Benjamin, and Alfred Harms, all of this city, Theodore Harms, Buffalo, and George Harms, Lakeland, Fla., and three grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wattengel Funeral Home, where services will be conducted by Rev. A. W. Moldenhauser(sic) at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery.

    Audrey D. Duscher surrounded by her family on November 16, 2013 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. She was born in North Tonawanda on June 9, 1927 to the late George and Della (Walter) Harms.
    Audrey was a life-long resident of North Tonawanda and she worked in the family real-estate business. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pendleton, where she was active in many church groups. Audrey was also a member of Tan Tara Country Club.
    Audrey is survived by her beloved husband of over 66 years, Allen Duscher. Dear mother of Larry (Holly) Duscher of Pendleton and Gail (Ross) Martin of Lockport. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Audrey is predeceased by a granddaughter, Emily Gail Martin.
    Services will be private. Arrangements were made by Ross Funeral Home Gaul Chapel, Lockport, NY. Memorial contributions to a charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

    Benjamin W. Harms Jr.
    Benjamin W. Harms, Jr., 38, formerly of North Tonawanda, died Saturday (May 17, 1969) at the San Francisco General Hospital, San Francisco, Calif., where he had been a patient since Feb. 16, 1969. A native of North Tonawanda, he was born March 23, 1931, the son of Benjamin W. and Grace Szalla Harms. He had been a resident of the San Francisco area for the last five years and was employed as a machinist by a cabinet making firm. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserves from 1950-53. He is survived by his parents of North Tonawanda; five brothers, Albert, Bruce, David, Brian, and Michael Harms all of North Tonawanda; three sisters, Mrs. Edmund (Loretta) Schultz of East Aurora, Mrs. James (Dorothy) Hines and Mrs. Samuel (Karen) Mangel, both of Niagara Falls. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Taylor and Reynolds Funeral Home, Lockport, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The Rev.     Nancy Ruth Musall (nee Stange), age 73, of North Tonawanda, February 25, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House, after a brief illness. Nancy was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aide and the Altar Guild. Nancy had retired from Ricmar Electric. She enjoyed quilting, baking and camping. She was the daughter of the late William and Ruth Stange.
    Beloved wife of Richard Musall; dear mother of Timothy (Maryellen) Musall, Kenneth Musall, Suzette (William) Drenko and Amy (Jon) Chase; grandmother of seven grandchildren. Sister of Carol (Stanley) Woodcock of Pendleton and the late Colleen Syruws. Sister-in-law of William Syruws of Bergholz; aunt of several nieces and nephews.
    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Thursday & Friday from 7-9 PM.     BERGHOLZ — Colleen Ann Syruws, (Stange), age 61, of Bergholz, was called to her heavenly home on January 23, 2013, at her residence, under the care of her loving family and Niagara Hospice. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on March 12, 1951, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Ewald) Stange, Jr. Colleen was a 1969 graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School and was previously employed as a clerk at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was a lifelong member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Wheatfield, and she cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.

    Survivors include her devoted husband, William R. Syruws. They were united in marriage on August 24, 1974; two daughters, Lorrie (William) Weir and Lynn (Benjamin) Willis; two sisters, Nancy (Richard) Musall and Carol (Stanley) Woodcock; and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Peyton, Charles and Adelaide.

    Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz), in Wheatfield on Friday from 4-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Ronald D. Oravec on Saturday at 11:00 AM in St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road. Interment in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Jack was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Navy as a pipe-fitter. he later worked for Bell Aerosystems, Harrison Radiator, in Lockport, New York.
    Jack is survived by his loving wife Diane L. (Wisnieski) Harms, beloved father of Jennifer (Brian) Young, Jody (Jason) Warnke, and the late Jeffrey L. Harms, son of the late Arlene and LeGrand Harms, son in law of Henry and Shirley (Hill) Wisnieski, brother of Paul (Karen) Harms, Nancy (Harms) Kendziora, brother in law of David, Daniel (Brenda) Wisnieski, Debra (Bruce) Good, and Douglas (Patricia) Wisnieski, grandfather of Jillian and Christian Young, also surviving are many nieces and nephews. 
    Friends may call Saturday from 1-4 PM at the Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda,Where funeral services will follow. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo.

    OBITUARY

    Of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away after a courageous battle on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY.   He was born in North Tonawanda, NY,  on July 16, 1948, the son of the late James and Dorothy [Harms] Hines.
    His family moved to Niagara Falls, where he attended local schools and graduated from Niagara County Community College and had  completed  additional courses  at UB. 
    Jim served with the US Army, during the Vietnam War.   
    He worked for local companies including Washington Mills, General Abrasives, Carborundum, before retiring from UNIFRAX as a master technician in 2013.   
    Jim was a life long member of the Community of Christ Church, where he was an ordained minister.  He was a man of great faith and had performed several weddings and funerals.
    Jim loved woodworking and fixing things.

    He was the husband of the love of his life, the late Patricia N. [Hamam] Hines, who passed away in March of 2011, they were married on February 23, 1974.

    Jim is survived by daughter Kristen N. (fiance Dave Holliday) Hines, a sister Cheryl Hines, also many nieces, nephews and friends. He was the brother of the late Elaine Hines.

    His family will be present on Sunday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM.

    Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice.
    Interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
