Edward W. Krull, a retired millwright and the last surviving charter member of the Pekin Volunteer Fire Company, died Wednesday (Aug. 14, 1996) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston. Krull, 91, was a resident of the Crestwood Health Care Center. He was born in Wheatfield and was a former resident of North Tonawanda and Niagara Falls. He worked as a millwright for 28 years at the former Hooker Chemical Corp. in North Tonawanda. He retired in 1967. Krull and his wife, the former Ida P. Schoder, who died in 1987, enjoyed farming and sold produce at a roadside stand in front of their Cayuga Drive home in Niagara Falls. He was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, Bergholz. Krull is survived by four sons, Karl of Ohio, Kenneth of Niagara Falls, Howard of Texas and Daniel of Ransomville; a daughter, Eva Miller; a sister, Loretta Heiman of Niagara Falls; 23 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. The Pekin Fire Company will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. Friday in the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Miss Mehls was a Niagara Falls native and a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
She was a secretary at Spirella Co. from 1941 to 1960, when she went to work as a private secretary at the Niagara Power Project, retiring in 1987.
She belonged to Grace Lutheran Church and several secretarial organizations.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Otto Redanz Funeral Home, 2215 Military Road, Town of Niagara.

Mehls , 72, of Townline Road, died Tuesday (June 23, 1992) in Veterans Hospital, Buffalo, after a long illness.

A native of Niagara Falls, he moved to Ransomville in 1965. He was an electrician for Vanadium Corp. from 1939 to 1941, when he entered the Army. He attained the rank of corporal during World War II and returned to Vanadium in 1945.

When Vanadium closed in 1960, Mehls joined the State Power Authority as an electrician, retiring in 1981.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; a son, Robert H. Strachen of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Patricia Ann Fechner; a sister, Verna Mehls of Niagara Falls; six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

WHEATFIELD - Paul F. Mehls, a former railroad car inspector, died Friday at home after a brief illness. He was 87.
A Niagara Falls native, he graduated from Trott Vocational High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He worked 43 years for Consolidated Rail Corp. and its predecessor railroads, retiring in 1978.
Mr. Mehls was an active member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls. He was a former council president, sang in the choir, taught adult Sunday school and was Sunday school superintendent.
He also belonged to a retired men's singing group, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and collected railroad memorabilia.
His first wife, the former Grace Boulden, died in 1988.
He is survived by his second wife of 10 years, the former Polly A. Fisher; two sons, Richard of Gasport and David of Franklintown, Pa.; two daughters, Karen Jackson of York Springs, Pa., and Linda Kurzik of York, Pa.; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 18th Street and Cleveland Avenue, Niagara Falls. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.

Karl was born in North Tonawanda, New York and was the eldest of six and last remaining of his generation. Karl was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy and served on the Submarines USS Piper and ship keeper of the USS Cod in Cleveland, Ohio. Karl died peacefully after suffering from Alzheimer's for several years. Interment and service at The National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024 on Friday, March 9th at 12:30 with a reception to follow. NORTH TONAWANDA — Carol A. (nee Krull) Cramer, age 70, of North Tonawanda, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Cramer was born in the Town of Cambria, December 28, 1940, daughter of the late Wilbur and Florence Krull.

Mrs. Cramer graduated from Starpoint High School. Carol's greatest joy was taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dale was born in North Tonawanda on October 23, 1963 to Dale and Carol (Krull) Cramer, Sr. He was a 1981 graduate of North Tonawanda Senior High School, employed 31 years at Buffalo Pumps of North Tonawanda, was active in union business, along with being a member of the Steel Workers Local #9436-4.
