Haseley Death Ruled Accidental; Police Don't Know Who Fired Shot
An Allegany County Coroner has ruled the death yesterday of an elderly Niagara Falls man as accidental but state police still do not know who fired the shot which killed 78-year-old Rudolph A. Haseley. The body of Mr. Haseley, who was a machinist, is being returned to Niagara Falls today, and funeral services will be helf Friday.
Survivors of the eight-man hunting party were to return to Niagara Falls today from Centerville in Northern Allegany county. One of the group, John Hollinsworth. 2215 Linwood Avenue was a member of a similar party when Mr. haseley's relative. Myron Haseley. was killed in the same area. Ironically, the accident happened November 25, 1947, just five years ago today. Another member of the party, George W. Piche. 1026 North Mililary road, found Rudolph Haseley. Because the bullet passed completely through the body, state police were unable to determine the size of the slug and are hampered in discovering if a member of the Haseley party or other hunters fired the fatal shot. Dr. H. K. Hardy, Allegany county coroner, said Mr. Haseley died of internal bleeding.
A son Arnold Haseley survives, as do two brothers Fred & Amos Haseley, and two sisters, the Misses Lucy and Rose Blumreich, all of this city. Mr. Haseley retired from the Titanium Alloy division of the National Lead Company after 32 years employment and then worked for Industrial Welding company. He was a native of Walmore, N.Y.
and lived in Niagara Falls 52 years. Services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Gridley Funeral home and at 2:30 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church with the Rev. Leonhardt Ludwig officiating. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery.

Amos A. Haseley, 83, of 1657 Niagara Ave., a retired Union Carbide Corp. electrician, died today (March 29, 1961) at Memorial Hospital after a long illness. A native of Walmore, Mr. Haseley made his home here for 61 years. He retired from the Union Carbide Corp. in 1951 after 47 years of service with the firm and was employed for seven years by the International Cooperage Co. Mr. Haseley was a charter member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was a member of St. Paul's Brotherhood, the Golden Age Club, and Niagara Falls Lodge No. 81, IOOF. Survivors include his Widow, Mrs. Louise Haseley, and two sisters, Miss Rose Blumreich and Miss Lucy Blumreich, all of this city. Several nieces and nephew also survive. Mrs. Lena Mante Dies at Walmore
Was Former Well Known Resident of Niagara Falls
WALMORE, June 22.-Mrs. Lena Mante, 52 years old, a native of this village, died suddenly of heart disease at 11:15 o'clock last night at the family home in the Lockport road, at the intersection of the Packard road. Mrs. Mante was a former well known resident of Niagara Falls, having resided in Niagara avenue there for many years. She was born in Walmore, a daughter of the late Charles Blumreich and Martha Schroder (sic). She was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran church and active in its organizations. While living in Niagara Falls Mrs. Mante was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical church, in Cleveland avenue, where her death will be mourned by a wide circle of friends.
Besides her husband, Albert G. Mante, she is survived by four brothers and two sisters, Frederick, Rudolph and Amos Haseley and Rose, Lucy and Edward Blumreich, all of Niagara Falls.
Funeral services will be held from the Lockport road home on Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, standard time, and at 2 o'clock at St. Peter's church. The Rev. Edward Grabau will officiate. Interment will be in Walmore cemetery.

SANBORN-Philip S. Haseley, 76, well known farmer, of the Town of Lewiston, died at his home in Walmore Rd., Monday (March 5, 1956). He had been in ill health for some time.

Elenor (Haseley) Yarrington, formerly of Niagara Falls, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in Columbia, South Carolina. She was 91. She was born in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY on June 3, 1917, a daughter of the late Fred and Mary (Reafsall) Haseley. She attended area schools. Mrs. Yarrington retired as a library clerk from the former LaSalle High School in 1979. Prior to the Niagara Falls Board of Education, she worked for the Niagara Falls Housing Authority. While living in Niagara Falls, she was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church for many years. An avid camper, she also belonged to the National Campers and Hikers, Niagara Camping and Apple Pushers Campers. She was a member of the Fire Bells and during WW II the Air Raid Wardens. She enjoyed craftwork and making Christmas socks for her family and friends, craft shows, time with her grandson, Patrick, traveling with her family, especially the annual trips to Cedar Point. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (William) Butler of Columbia, SC; her grandson, Patrick Butler; and a cousin, Candace Frerk of Tonawanda. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Norman Yarrington in December 1991. NIAGARA FALLS - Arnold F. Haseley, 63, of 4815 Lafayette Circle, died Friday (March 14, 1975) in Memorial Medical Center after a short illness.
Mr. Haseley was a native of Niagara Falls and was traffic manager for the National Lead Co. where he worked for the last 35 years. He served in the U.S. Army band during World War II.
He had been a musician playing trumpet with the Vaughn Monroe, Buddy Rogers and Willard Alexander orchestras. He was the past president of the Niagara Falls Traffic Club and was a member of' the Buffalo Transportation Club.

Haseley, 81, had cancer for five years.
He was one of the original members of the Niagara County Milk Producers Co-op and a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in North Ridge.
He also was an original member of the Wild Turkey Federation and enjoyed hunting, especially wild turkeys.
Haseley is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Ruth L. McFeaters; a daughter, Linda Rodger of Lockport; a sister, Dorothy Sears of Appleton; and three grandchildren.
Burial was in Budd Cemetery.

Richard was born October 9, 1920 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Louis and Celeste (Walck) Geltz. He was a graduate of Trott Vocational High School in Niagara Falls and was a lifelong resident. Richard was a Millwright, employed by Wendt's Manufacturing in Niagara Falls, NY, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Richard was an avid bowler, fisherman and model ship builder. He loved baseball, especially the NY Yankees. He married Caroline (Coyle) Geltz on December 12, 1970. Caroline predeceased him on November 6, 2006. Kenneth L. Geltz, lifetime area resident, passed away on Monday, February 09, 2015 at Buffalo General Hospital after a brief illness. He was 91. He was born in the Town of Niagara on October 11, 1923, a son of the late Louis and Celeste (Walck) Geltz. He attended local schools and then entered the United States Army Air Corps in 1944 and served in Japan during World War II until his honorable discharge in 1946.

After the War he worked as an industrial welder at Bell Air Craft and then as a heavy equip- ment operator and Foreman for the Town of Lewiston, retiring in 1986 as a Foreman in the drainage department.

He married Shirley Mae Taylor in 1948 and they remained happily married for 66 years until his passing. He was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley M. Geltz; two sons, Ronald (Patricia) Geltz of Lockport and Robert Geltz of Niagara Falls. He is also survived by two grandsons, Stephen (Jenny) and Matthew Geltz and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Richard (late Caroline) Geltz and two sisters-in-law, Rebecca (late Richard) Taylor and Marion (late William) Mussel.

Councilman Lawrence A. Walck, 66, died Thursday (Jan. 3, 1991) after he was stricken at his home on Upper Mountain Road.
A native of Wheatfield, Walck had been a Cambria town councilman for 12 years and intended to run for re-election next fall.
He had no opponent in his last campaign for re-election in 1987, when he was nominated by the Republican and Conservative parties.
Walck retired June 30 as a compositor at the Tonawanda News after 42 years in the printing industry.
He began his apprenticeship at the Lockport Union-Sun and Journal, then worked at the Niagara Gazette. He joined the Tonawanda News in 1960 and had served as chapel chairman for the International Typographical Union.
He was a 17-year member of the Pekin Fire Company, serving in various offices, including as treasurer.
He also was vice president of the Exempt Firemen of Pekin, local publicity director for the Lutheran Laymen's League and a member of Messiah Lutheran Church of Lewiston.
Walck had coached baseball in Cambria and was a member of the Tonawanda and Niagara County Sportsmen's associations.
Survivors include his wife, the former Jean Becken; two sons, Jerry of Lewiston and Donald; two daughters, Patricia Purdy of Williamsville and Pamela; four brothers, Herbert and Clarence, both of Lyndonville, Earl of Niagara Falls and Delbert of Chesapeake, Va.; two sisters, Margaret Budnack of Newfane and Edith Sherbert of Rochester, and five grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Monday in the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, Bergholz. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst.

HERBERT A. WALCK Mr. Herbert A. Walck, of the Town of Ridgeway, passed away on Saturday evening, March 1, 2008 at the Medina Memorial Hospital. Mr. Walck was born in Wheatfield, September 7, 1925, a son of the late Andrew and Edna (Wendt) Walck. On March 5, 1949, he married the former Janet Lund and the couple were longtime area residents. Active in the community, he was a member and Trustee of the Lyndonville United Methodist Church, Past President of the Lyndonville Lions Club, a longtime member of the Ridgeway Republican Committee and the Lyndonville Area Foundation. He was very interested in antique automobiles and was a member of the Pierce Arrow Club, Antique Automobile Association of America, Model T and Early V8 Club, and enjoyed attending Cruise Nights and the Hershey Flea Market. He was an avid reader. Twenty six years ago, he donated a kidney to his son, Stewart. He was employed by several Western New York publications including the Medina Journal Register, as a printer, and retired from FMC as a mechanic. He was well- known in the area for his heating and plumbing abilities. Survivors include his wife, Janet; a son, Stewart (Bonnie) Walck of Albion; two daughters, Sandra (Will) Zwink of Albany and Barbara (Michael) Halpern of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, Brenden, Alison, Jennifer and Jack; a sister, Margaret (Robert) Budnack of Newfane; two brothers, Earl Walck of Niagara Falls and Delbert (Margaret) Walck of Chesapeake, VA; two sisters-in-law, Jean Walck of Sanborn and Edna Walck of Ridgeway; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Leonard Thiele Dies in Hospital
NORTH TONAWANDA-Leonard Thiele, 50, of 7491 Shawnee Road, Wheatfield, died unexpectedly Thursday (July 2, 1964). He was stricken while at his place of business and was pronounced dead on arrival at DeGraff Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Thiele was a lifelong resident of Wheatfield and, was co-owner of the Thiele Coal and Feed Corp. and co-owner also of the Witnauer Fuel Co. Inc.
He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran I Church, in which he was a Sunday school teacher for 32 years and served on the Church Council for six years. He was also a member of the Thiele was a member of the church. (sic)
In other associations, Mr. Theile was a member of the board of directors of the Niagara Savings and Loan Association, a director of the Empire State Petroleum Association, a member of the Oil Heat Institute of Buffalo. In the latter organization, he was chosen "Man of the Year" in 1962. He was a director of the Eastern Federation of Feed Merchants and formerly served on the United Community Fund campaign here.
Survivors include his widow, Elizabeth Mackinsen Thiele; a daughter, Mrs. William (Marie) Cole; a son, Paul Thiele, and a brother, Eugene Thiele, all of this area.

NORTH TONAWANDA -Mrs. Helen Thiele Haseley, 41 of 4202 Lockport Road, Lockport, whose husband Gordon is town justice in Pendleton, died Sunday (Dec. 1, 1968) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after an illness of a year. Born in this city, she was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church.

After telling Johnson he
had a plumbing job at near
by Niagara County Infirmary,
Domediori said the two sat in
Johnson's car and talked. He
later decided to "frighten

SANBORN-Philip (Pete) W. Haseley, 47, of 5888 Walmore Road, died Friday (Feb. 24, 1967) in Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital after a four-day illness.
He was born in the Town of Lewiston on May 8, 1919, the son of Philip F. Haseley and Anna DeVantier Haseley. He had lived all his life at the Walmore Road address where he operated a farm.
Mr. Haseley was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Walmore, and was a member of the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. band for many years.
Survivors include his widow, the former Carol Bohl; a son, Robert, and a daughter, Judy, both at home; a brother, Mervin P. Haseley of Sanborn; a nephew, Paul Haseley, Sanborn, and several aunts and uncles.

BERGHOLZ - Marion G. (Haseley-Walck) DuBois, 82, of . Niagara Falls Boulevard, died Friday July 5, 1996) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 12, 1913, in Wheatfield, the daughter of Adolf and Eleonore (Retzlaff) Haseley.
On Sept. 21. 1935, she married Arthur P. DuBois in Niagara Falls.
Mrs. DuBois was a member of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church. where she belonged to the Ladies Aide (sic) and Alter Guild for many years. She also was an exempt member of the Bergholz Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.
She enjoyed needlepoint and crocheting.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Duane DuBois of Wheatfield; a daughter, Jane Andrews of Sanborn; two brothers, Melvin Walck of Farmington, Mich., and Norman Walck of Sanborn; two sisters, Helen Waldkoetter of North Tonawanda and Doris Toellner of Madison Heights. Mich.; two granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Chester Walck.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, where the Ladies Auxiliary of the Bergholz Fire Co. will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. today. WHEATFIELD - Agnes V. Walck, of Wheatfield, died Friday in Elderwood Health Care Center at CrestWood. She was 95.
Born Agnes Pfohl in the Town of Wheatfield, she attended local schools. She was a devoted homemaker and a lifelong, active member of St. Peter's Evangelical
Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was a member of the Women of the Church.
She also was a member of the Sanbornite Senior Citizens and enjoyed many trips with the group.
Her husband of 52 years, Theodore J., died in 1983.
Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Hildebrandt of Sanborn; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Hubert F. Pfohl, 89, of Sanborn, NY, died Monday September 8, 2003, after suffering an apparent heart attack at home.
He was born in the Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY, on April 16, 1914, the son of Anton and Elsie [ Haseley ] Pfohl, where he attended local schools. Hubert worked most of his life as a farmer, he had also been employed for 16 years, for the New York State Highway Department.
He was a life long member of St. Peter Evangelical Church, Walmore, NY, where he had served as an elder and trustee. He was married in St. Peter's Church on October 30, 1938, to the former Norma A. Walck.
He was a loving and devoted husband and father, especially to his daughter Karen, who predeceased him.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Norma, two daughters, Beverly [ Charles ] Pendergast; Janet [ David ] Tober, both of Sanborn, NY; a sister, Agnes Walck, of Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY; five grandchildren, Kristen [ Marty ] Kenny; Mark [ Nancy ] Miller; Rachel [ Daryl ] Haseley; Beth [ Steve ] Guidetti; Michael [ fiancé Lisa Rynn ] Tober; 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

WHEATFIELD - Erwin G. Pfohl, 75, of Lockport Road, died Dec. 15, 1993, in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda.
Pfohl was born in Wheatfield on Nov. 12, 1918, the son of Anthony and Elsie (Haseley) Pfohl, and was a lifelong Wheatfield resident. In 1948, he and Clarence Kroening formed a partnership to operate the Sanborn Milling Co. Inc. He later bought Kroening's share. and continued to operate the business for another 15 years until his retirement in 1983.
Pfohl was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sanborn, where he held various positions over the years. He. was an exempt member of. the Sanborn Fire Co. and the Sanborn Lions Club, and a former member of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eleanor H. Devantier) Pfohl; a daughter, Ann Kroening of Sanborn; a son, Eugene Pfohl of Sanborn; a brother, Hubert Pfohl of Sanborn; a sister, Agnes Walck of Niagara Falls; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at the DuBois Funeral Home, Bergholz, and St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Sanborn. Burial was in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.

Services for Erwin G. Pfohl, former owner of Sanborn Milling County, will be held at 11:30 A.M. Saturday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road. Burial will be in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. Pfohl, 75, of Lockport Road, died Wednesday (Dec. 15, 1993) in DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda, after a long illness. A lifelong resident of Wheatfield, he began a partnership in 1948 with Clarence Kroening in Sanborn Milling Co. After 30 years, Pfohl bought out Kroening's share and continued to operate the business until he retired in 1983. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he held various positions. He was a member of the Sanborn Lions Club, an exempt member of Sanborn Fire Company and a former member of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club. Survivors include his wife, the former Eleanor H. DeVantier; a daughter, Ann Kroening; a son, Eugene; and a brother, Hubert; all of Sanborn; a sister, Agnes Walck of Niagara Falls; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

SWANSON, Ruth L. Ruth L. Swanson entered Life Eternal on January 29, 2020 at the age of 88. Ruth was born in N. Tonawanda, NY on July 2, 1931. She attended St. Mark's Lutheran School in N. Tonawanda for eight years. She often referred to those years as the Foundation of her Christian walk with God. After graduating from N. Tonawanda High School, she attended Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio with honors and obtained her R.N. degree. A few years later she graduated from Pacific Christian College in Fullerton, California with her B.S. degree. Ruth met Donald Swanson (February 9, 1935 - August 28, 2018) who was attending Concordia Lutheran Seminary in St. Louis, MO. They were married on August 17, 1958. She had been planning to be a missionary nurse in New Guinea but she often said, "God had a different mission field for me." She and Don were blessed with three beautiful children: son Jonathan, daughter Mary and son David. The family was active together in full time ministry in many parts of the USA and Hawaii. Ruth continued to have passion for the churches around the world and for about 10 years she visited with Christians in Africa, Samoa, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, New Guinea, Central America and Madagascar especially after her children were grown. Ruth continued to share those mission experiences at many churches in the USA. In 1990 she was commissioned as an associate in ministry and she and her husband Don worked together as a team. Ruth loved life and shared that zeal openly. Many times she remarked, "I pray that someone might have been affected to grow as a Christian because of my life." Services will be held at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 1700 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Coeur d'Alene, ID on Saturday, February 8th at 1PM.

She was born in Los Angeles, CA, on January 27, 1938, the daughter of the late Cecil and Esther [Mueller] Strehlow.
Marie moved to North Tonawanda in the 1940's with her family and graduated from North Tonawanda High School.
She worked in the Melody Fair box office and sports box office at Niagara University where she became the payroll clerk in the Human Resource Department for 23 years, before retiring in 2002.
Marie was a founding and long time member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda where she served faithfully as an organist for 49 years.   Her love of music was shared with many through choir, Sunday school, vacation Bible School and instrumental duets.    She helped start and participated in many of the church women's organizations.
Marie was the first crossing guard for the West Street School in Sanborn and a dedicated charter member of the Sanborn Historical Museum.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years Glenn L. Wienke, three daughters Karen (Bryan) Richardson, Kathy (Rob Sobczyk) Richardson and Kris (Rick) Schrader, six grandchildren Craig (Ashley) Richardson, Julie (Kyle) Stevener, Michelle (Lance) Rolston, Kimberly Richardson, Brittany (Christian) Nole and Brandon Schrader, three great grandchildren Alexis, Natalie and Jackson, a brother Donald (Clara) Strehlow and a sister Donna (Tony) Ventresca, also several nieces and nephews.
Her family will be present on Friday from 3-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 1534 Ruie Road, North Tonawanda, NY.

Wolcottsville Man Found Dead In Car
AKRON - A Wolcottsville man was found dead in his car on Maple Road early Sunday morning, apparently from carbon monoxide poisoning according to Erie County sheriff's deputies. Bernard Bruning, 29, of Campbell's Inn, Block Church Road, was found by William Pogel of Akron, said Deputy Thomas Weston. Detective William Dispensce said the Bruning car, which had been parked at the side of the road, had a faulty exhaust system. A native of Newstead, Mr. Bruning was born Nov. 27, 1941, the son of Mr. and Mrs, Edwin Bruning. He was a member of St-Michael's Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville and a former member of the Wolcottsville Volunteer Fire Co. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Hilda B. Geltz of Niagara Falls; two sons, Mark and Steven of Maple Road, Akron, and a sister, Miss Gladys Bruning of Barker. BATAVIA — Neil E. Krull, age 79, of the Town of Hamburg, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at the Batavia VA Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. Born in North Tonawanda, NY, he was the son of the late Edward and Irene (Haseley) Krull. Mr. Krull was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He had been a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda for many years, and was known for his ministry of delivering tapes of Sunday sermon messages to church shut-ins. He also had been a past President of the Residence Council at Brompton Heights.

He is survived by two children, Sandra (Mark) Flanigan of the Town of Pendleton and Daniel (Susan) Krull of Niagara Falls, NY; five grandchildren, Mark Jr., Stacy and Stephanie Flanigan, and Alexis and Abigail Krull; his former wife, Barbara (Robert) Thomson; two sisters, Phyllis Phillips of North Tonawanda and Ellen "Bunny" Eberwein of the City of Tonawanda; and a brother, Roger (Linda) Krull of North Tonawanda.

Donald L. Walck, 53, died Friday (July 19, 2002) in a one-vehicle accident in Dansville.
Walck was born in Niagara Falls and graduated from Starpoint Central High School in 1968. He also attended the Orleans-Niagara Board of Cooperative Educational Services and Niagara County Community College. He served in the Navy from 1968 to 1972 as an aviation electrician. He was stationed at various times in California, VA and Jacksonville, Fla. He made two six-month cruises to Antarctica. Walck worked as a machinist at Ford Motor Co.'s Buffalo Stamping Plant in Hamburg for the past eight years. Before that, he had worked at Eastman Kodak County, Rochester, and at Midland Machinery County, City of Tonawanda. Walck was a member of Lutheran Church of the Messiah, Lewiston; Wheatfield Post 1451, American Legion; and the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. NIAGARA FALLS — Richard R. Mang, of Niagara Falls, died Saturday, January 7, 2012, at home. He was 88. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on July 13, 1932, the son of Raymond and Lillian (Ziehl) Mang. He attended schools here, including Kelly Business Institute.

Richard served in the US Army from 1952-1954, stationed in Germany. He, along with his dad, owned and operated Mang's Fish Market for many years, until his retirement in 1996. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed woodworking.

He was predeceased by his wife, Norma (Fuller) Mang on August 6, 1996.

Survivors include his step-daughter, Nancy Reid of Kenmore; four step-grandchildren, David and Scott Woolsoncroft, Jacqueline Plunkett and Tammy Kopack; several great-grandchildren and cousins, and a dear friend, John W. Willmott of Niagara Falls.

Beloved husband of Julien (nee Rettig) Thiele; father of Jennifer (Jim) Wanamaker of Wheatfield and Jeffrey (Michele) Thiele of Amherst; grandfather of Emily and David Wanamaker, Andrew and Caroline Thiele; son of Elizabeth Thiele of Eustis, FL and the late Leonard Thiele; brother of Marie (William) Cole of Eustis, FL and is survived by many other loving family members.

Nadene Anne Thiele Maxwell passed away on February 8, 2024. She was born on March 26, 1944 in Lockport, NY, daughter of the late William F. and Jane (Morrill) Thiele. Predeceased by her husband, Donald W. Maxwell and infant sister, Jeanine Louise Thiele.


Following GRADUATIONS FROM Lockport High School in 1962 and Bryant & Stratton Business Institute, she was employed as a secretary at Simonds Saw & Steel Co. and Harrison Radiator Div., GMC, while being an active member in the National Secretaries Association, Int’l.


Nadene and her husband married May 10, 1982 in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida, where they enjoyed retirement living for 19 years, prior to their return to Lockport in 2000


She is survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside service will be held for family and close friends in Corwin Cemetery.

Of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Sanborn, on November 7, 1929, the daughter of the late Edward P. and Florence [Pfohl] Walck.


Mrs. Wendt attended local schools and was employed with the National Grinding Wheel, the Sanborn Greenhouse and as a cleaner at St. Peter's Lutheran School for many years. She was actively involved with the Sanborn Fire Company Band and with the Women of Church quilting group. Mrs. Wendt loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing Bingo and shopping.


She was the wife of the late Bertrum Wendt, who died in January of 2000.
Mrs. Wendt is survived by her daughters Darlene C. (James) Giannini, Sally A. (Michael) Kelley and Laurie L. (Peter Eodice) Wendt Draper, four grandchildren James Giannini, II, Rochelle (Brian) Wylke, Jessica and Jenna Kelley, six great grandchildren Elyssa, Brianna, Landen, Kaden, Kendra and Jaxon, and was the sister of Gilbert I. (Carol) Walck, Jerauld F. (Kay) Walck and Janice (Martin) Wick, she also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Arnold E. Walck.


Her family will be present on Friday from 3-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 6167 Walmore Road, Sanborn, NY, with the Rev. Kenneth Spitler and the Rev. Jonathan Haseley officiating.
