William Zastrow, 63 years old, died
at his home at Bergholtz yesterday
from a fractured skull, sustained Saturday
when he fell from a ladder In
his barn
Zastrow left the house in ihe morning
to feed the livestock. It was necessary
for him to climb a ladder, leading
to the nay loft, to secure feed for the
stock. He had been absent for a
longer period than usual when Mrs.
Zastrow became alarmed and went to
the barn in search of him. She found
Zastrow lying on the floor at the foot
of the ladder, blood flowing from his
ears.
Zastrow died without having regained
conscienceness. Coroner J. E. Helwig
took charge of the case.
Besides his wife, Zastrow is survived
by two brothers, August and Ferdinand
Zastrow of Wilson, and one
sister. Mrs. August Ziehm of St.
Johns burg.
Zastrow was born in Germany. He
came to America 38 years ago, locating '
in the town of Wilson, where he resided
until taking up his home at
Bergholtz seven years ugo.
The funeral will be held Thursday
afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the
house and at 2 o'clock from the Holy
Ghost church, Rev. John Kuchcnbeeker
officiating. Burial will be at North
Ridge.

N O R T H TONAWANDA - Grover L. Ziehm, 65, of 6828 Sy Road, Town of Wheatfield, died unexpectedly Monday (Jan. 18, 1965), after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ziehm was born in Michigan and had resided in Wheatfield the greater part of his life. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bergholtz. He operated Ziehm's Motel in Niagara Falls Boulevard for about 30 years, retiring in 1964. Prior to operating the motel he was employed by Hooker Electrochemical Corp in Niagara Falls for 27 years, retiring about 10 years ago. Survivors include his widow, the former Clara Ferchen; two sons, Chester G. Ziehm,
Grand Island, and Maurice A. Ziehm, Schenectady ; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth
(Pearl) Ward and Mrs. Silvan (Yvonne) Bricca, both of Wheatfield; a brother, William

Dorothy worked at Harrison Radiator for 33 years. She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church, UAW Travel Club and Christian Woman Association. She and Roger also enjoyed there Thursday luncheons at the Rapids Fire Hall.

Obituary of Marlin Zastrow

Marlin “Red” Zastrow, 82, of Gasport, NY.   A devoted father, husband, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan 19, 2022.  Born in Wilson, NY to Elmer and Gertrude Zastrow on March 15, 1939.  Red retired from Harrison Radiator.  He was an active member of Terry’s Corners Firehall for 57 years.  
Red’s life revolved around his family, especially those of his six daughters.  He was a constant and loving presence in their lives, made the extra effort to stay in touch, share a good laugh and openly express his love for them. He had many friendships that spanned decades and always enjoyed a cold beer with friends.
He is survived by his sisters Myra Fry of Lockport, NY, and Annabelle (Arthur) Bird of Niagara Falls, NY.  His daughters Tammy (Rob) Flaherty of Annapolis, MD, Debbie (Mike) Palladino of Tonawanda, NY, Sherrie (Dan) MacNeill of Homer, NY, Kelly (Dale) Wick of Mendon, NY, Darcy Watson of N. Tonawanda, NY, Paula (Brian) LeBere of Englewood, FL, nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.   He is pre-deceased by his wife Carrol (Welton).  Sisters Joan Vought, Pauline Fry, Phyllis Shank, and brother Howard Zastrow.

Wesley W. “Sonny” Rohring, age 79, of Wilson entered into rest on Monday, August 2, 2021, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Wesley was born May 10, 1942, in Wilson, NY. He is the son of the late Wesley R. and the late Elsie (Zastrow) Rohring. Sonny was a graduate of Wilson H.S class of 1960. He married the late Carol Cecala on January 27, 1978. Sonny served in the U.S Army from 1961 to 1964. He was employed by the Operating Engineers Local # 463, also Hasley Construction. Sonny enjoyed building houses, construction and helping others. Surviving are his children, Samantha (Bill) Kennedy, Tamara Rohring and Susan (Eric) Hyjek; his siblings, Yvonne Gruper, Robert Rohring and Sally Brown; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Pearl B. Dixon, 94, wife of the late Herbert Dixon, Jr., died peacefully under the gentle care at the Niagara Hospice House, Lkpt, NY. Pearl was born in Wilson on March 13, 1926 to the late Clarence and Martha (Zastrow) Belschner, sister of the late Lester (Betty) Belschner and Eleanor Poole.
Pearl and Herb were founding member of the South Wilson Fire Company of which they took great pride.
She is survived by her son, Keith (Kathleen) Dixon of Wilson; her grandchildren, Derek (Cassandra) Dixon, and Stephanie (Scott) Wilson. Also survived by her great-grandson, Ty Owen Wilson. She was the beloved aunt of eight and great-aunt of 16.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

NEWFANE — Eleanor L. Poole, of Newfane, wife of Ira M. Poole, entered into rest Friday, January 4, 2013 in Newfane Rehab & Health. Eleanor was born in Wilson, NY on August 15, 1927. Daughter of the late Clarence and Martha Zastrow Belschner.

Eleanor worked at the Lockport Felt Company for 28 years. She enjoyed bowling, camping and fishing.

Mother of Gerald (Bonnie) Poole of Newfane, Ira E. (Marie) Poole of Newfane, and Barbara Herring of Wilson. Sister of Pearl (Herbert) Dixon of Wilson and the late Lester Belschner. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

John A. Miller, of Wilson, NY, passed away on January 4, 2020 at Buffalo VA Hospital. Born in Wilson, NY, on December 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Herbert A. and Mabel (Zastrow) Miller.
John married Clarinda Miller of Sanborn, NY, on September 15, 1962. She predeceased him on August 1, 1992.
John served in the US Army and was stationed in Japan from 1953 to 1955. He then worked at Continental Can Co., in North Tonawanda, and was a school bus driver for Niagara Wheatfield CSD. John was a lifelong farmer in Wilson and Cambria. In addition, he owned and operated Miller Farm Produce Containers. John and his family went to North Tonawanda Farmers Market with vegetables and his wife's homemade pies for many years. He was active in Niagara County Farm Bureau, 4-H, and Pekin Grange. He was also an exempt member of South Wilson Volunteer Fire Company.
In his younger years, John was an avid bowler who belonged to two leagues. He loved watching sports, everything from high school basketball, any type of baseball, and especially Sabres hockey. John enjoyed reading newspapers and biographies, and doing puzzles. Following his retirement, he volunteered delivering Niagara County Home Delivered Meals.
John is survived by his sister, Marjorie (David) White of Wilson, NY; four children, Gary Miller, Beth (late Eliot) Ulrich, Colleen (Chris) Liberto and Valerie (Greg) Nix; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many dear in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Chester G. Ziehm, 71, a resident of Grand Island, died Tuesday (Jan. 24, 1995) in Sisters Hospital.
Ziehm was born in the Town of Wheatfield and served in the Army in Europe during World War II.
He graduated from the University of Buffalo School of Business Management and worked for several years at Carborundum Co. and Standard Oil Co. in Cleveland.
He was a member of First Trinity Lutheran Church. He also was a charter member of Wheatfield Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Grand Island Rod & Gun Club.
Surviving are his wife, Rosemarie Brym-Conrad Ziehm; three sons, David of Bergholz, William of Chicago and John of Niagara Falls; a daughter, Marion Wendt of Grand Island; a brother, Morris of Schenectady; two sisters, Pearl Ward and Yvonne Bricca, both of Wheatfield; and six grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday in First Trinity Church, 1570 Niagara Falls Blvd., Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Forest Lawn, Buffalo.

TONAWANDA, Aug. 19. (AP)-Doris Ziehm, two-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Ziehm. died at a hospital today from the effects of gasoline which she drank at her home last night.
The child, her parents said, left the dinner table last night and went out in the yard to play. A short time later the parents heard a scream and upon investigation found the child lying in the yard with a small gasoline can in her hand. At the hospital it was said the child died from an internal hemorrhage and convulsions brought on by the gasoline she had drunk.
Besides the parents, a sister, Pearl, and a brother, Chester, survive. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home and half an hour later at St. Jacob's Church, Bergholz. The Rev. Otto Bruss will conduct the services and burial will be in St. Jacob's cemetery

Morris (Moe) Ziehm went home to be with his Lord & Savior January 16, 2021 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, November 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Grover and Clara Ziehm. Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Yvonne. Children Doris Krom (Tom), Douglas Ziehm (Sharon), Deborah Adams (Christopher), Daniel Ziehm (Lucinda). Morris graduated in 1959 from the University of Buffalo School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science , then earned a Master of Science in Engineering from Union College. He was an associate professor of mechanical technology at Illinois Central College from 1968-1974. He then worked as an engineer at GE Large Steam Turbine retiring in 1994 after 29 years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and an active member of the church council for many years. A life long member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Wheatfield, where he formerly served as a Trustee and worked on the church cemetery. Gordon was a member of the American Legion- Wheatfield Post 1451, the Jaycee's, Wheatfield Democratic Club, and a 63 year member of St. Johnsburg Fire Company.

Glenwood W. Zastrow, 72, of Williams Street, a past commander of Lake Ontario Post 313, Veterans of Foreign Wars, died Sunday (June 7, 1998) in St. Mary's Manor Nursing Home, Niagara Falls, after a brief illness. A native of Niagara Falls, Zastrow was a graduate of North Tonawanda High School. He moved to Youngstown in 1953. He served in Europe with the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1949. Zastrow was a graphite machinist for Carbon Graphite Group for 43 years until he retired in 1995. He was a member and elder of St. John Lutheran Church; a life member and past commander of the VFW Post, which he also served as chaplain for 20 years; president of Branch 471, Aid Association for Lutherans , for 12 years; past president of St. John Singles and Doubles Club; and a member of the Youngstown Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, the former Shirley I. Amsdill; three sons, William F. of Lakewood, Colo., Stephen R. of Corpus Christi, TX, and John C.; and a brother, Elton of Niagara Falls. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Lockport St. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

RANSOMVILLE — Rose A. Kroening, of Ransomville, NY, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2012, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, NY. She was born in the Town of Wheatfield, on February 2, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles and Arline (Jacobs) Zastrow. Mrs. Kroening was employed at Mt. View Health Facility for many years. She was a volunteer with LADD in Niagara Falls and was a member of the Ladies Aide at St. Andrew's Church. Mrs. Kroening enjoyed gardening around her home. She was the wife of the late Raymond C. Kroening, who died in October of 1980.

Mrs. Kroening is survived by three sons, Ronald (Sandra) Kroening, David (Sue) Kroening and Mark (Donna) Kroening, all of Ransomville, NY; two daughters-in-law, Janelle Kroening and Debbie Kroening; one sister, Doris Tudor. Also survived by fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Donald and Gary Kroening, sister of the late Chester, Robert, LeRoy and Willard Zastrow.

TOWN OF CAMBRIA — LeRoy W. Zastrow, age 82, of the Town of Cambria, died Sunday, October 23, 2011, in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport.

LeRoy was born October 24, 1928 in the Town of Cambria, the son of the late Charles and Arlene (Jacobs) Zastrow. He was a lifelong resident of Cambria, until his declining health made it necessary for him to reside at the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Center in Lockport these past few months. LeRoy was a Heavy Equipment Operator, employed by the Town of Cambria Highway Dept. for 30 years, retiring in 1984.

He was a member of Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church in Newfane, the Cambria Volunteer Fire Co. and Exempt Member, the Wilson Conservation Club and the Newfane Senior Citizens, with whom he enjoyed traveling.

LeRoy married Eleanor “Ellie” M. Tompkins on August 30, 1947. Ellie predeceased him on July 13, 2003. He is survived by his children, Michael W. (Terry) Zastrow, Terry Zastrow, Penny (Ed) Dysard and Judy (David) St. Onge, all of the Town of Cambria; two sisters, Rose Kroening of Pekin and Doris Tudor of Orange Co., NY; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three brothers, Chester, Robert and Willard Zastrow.

She became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1960 where she faithfully served as President and Treasurer of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She also led many Bible Studies throughout the years. Gladene also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She made many lap robes, pray shawls and hats that she donated to the local VA Hospital and premie hats for the Children’s Hospital She also supported many charities and missionaries throughout her life. There will be no Prior Visitation. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 107 Scott St. (corner of William St.) Tonawanda, NY at 11 am with the Rev. He was born in Lockport, NY on November 11, 1945, son of the late Levi Greenwald and Alice Zastrow Greenwald. Gary served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War, where he served 3 tours of duty. He worked for the Village of Wilson. Gary loved the Outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and helping anybody with a project. He was a member of the Wilson Conservation club, Wilson American Legion, Vietnam Veterans of America 268, Ridgewood Bible Church and was a Boy Scout Leader.
Father of Frederick Greenwald. Grandfather of Skyler Greenwald. Brother of Vallie (Gary) Alt, Carlton “Corky” (Kelly) Greenwald and the late Brenda Donovan. Theresa A. St. Onge, age 54 of Ransomville, died Thursday July 26, 2018 in the Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a brief illness.
 
Theresa was born March 14, 1964 in Lockport, the daughter of Mary (Antoncich) Zastrow, and the late Edwin A. Zastrow, Sr. She was a 1982 graduate of DeSales High School and was employed as a Dietician by Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston.
 
Theresa was a communicant of Immaculate Conception RC Church in Ransomville. She was the greatest baker and enjoyed gardening and working on the family farm. Her greatest joy was being with her children and nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to her mother, Mary, she is survived by David St. Onge; her children, Kayleigh, Christina, and Joseph St. Onge; her sisters, Judith (Michael) Waite, Constance Zastrow, Mary Anne (Daniel) Johnson, Elizabeth (Michael) Herlan, Bernadette (Stephen) Chunco, Nadine Braman, and Jacinta (Chad) Beckon; her brothers, Edwin, Jr., Joseph. Linda, together with her husband Lawrence, owned and operated Soos’ Oliver St. Café for 38 years. She was the founder of Oliver Street Community Pride, where she spent many hours applying for grants and raising money for signage, planters, and benches along the length of Oliver St. She also initiated the Pony’s on Parade which line Oliver St. She participated in and contributed to the “Glory Be to Kids” softball tournament. She was a member of the Pierogi Ladies at O.L.C. church. In her spare time, she knitted hats, mittens, and scarves for the less fortunate children of the Black Rock area through the Boys and Girls Club. She did all these things while raising two sons. Linda was an unbelievably giving person. Beloved wife of Lawrence Soos, who was a former mayor of North Tonawanda. Dear mother of J. C. Jufer and Michael Jufer. Sister of Connie (Jim) Lykins, Valerie (late Dan) Drotter, Kim Zastrow, Ronald Zastrow, and the late Eleanor Hanes. Sister-in-law of David Hanes, aunt of many nieces and nephews. LOCKPORT — Joyce L. (Kruzicke) Hess, May 9, 2013, after a long illness, with her family at her side. Born July 30, 1953 in Newfane, she was a daughter of the late Norman R. and Loraine L. (Zastrow) Kruzicke.

She attended Wilson schools and met and married Clyde Hess May 12, 1973, after dating for five years. Joyce worked for George Bradley tying grapes, worked at Kramp Cold Storage as a bagger, worked at Oldham Saw as a torch repair inspector, and helped cleaned the Hub Hotel with her father, Norman Kruzicke. She was the caregiver of her dad for 10 years. She loved gardening, flowers, the outdoors, camping, bird watching, her dogs and cats, and spending time with her family. Family meant a lot to her.

Surviving is her husband of 40 years, Clyde R. Hess; son, Clyde (Ellen) Hess of Barker; three grandchildren, Michael of Wilson, Nathanael and Benjamin of Barker; a niece and nephew, Nicholas and Samantha Seefeldt of Wilson; three brothers, Roger (Peggy) Kruzicke of Dansville; Robert (Reeny) Kruzicke of Wilson; Rodney (Fran) Kruzicke of Wilson; and a sister, Lori (Brian) Seefeldt of Wilson. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

early Sunday resulted in
the death of a Wilson youth and
injuries to his two passengers.
Pronounced dead within minutes
after arrival at Lockport
Memorial Hospital was the driver,
Leonard E. Klumpp, 19, of
3279 Beebe Road, Town of Wilson.
Injured were Robert L.
Smith, 20, of 19 Highland Ave.,
here, owner of the car, who
was listed in critical condition
today in the intensive care unit
of Sisters Hospital, Buffalo, and
Daniel Fraser, 20, of 150 Washington
St. here, who was listed
in fair condition at Lockport
Memorial Hospital.
Police said the deceased had
suffered internal injuries. The
Smith youth suffered head injuries
and bruises and the Fraser
youth suffered a laceration
of the scalp, right arm and
multiple contusions and abrasions.
No Skid Marks
Sgl. Henry Newman of the
local police reported no skid
marks visible in the accident,
which occurred about 2:20 a.m.
in Walnut Street- near Cleveland
Place.
He said the car apparently
left the road at a curve in Walnut
Street, striking a tree in
front of 577 Walnut St.
Klumpp and Fraser were
wearing seat belts. Smith was
not.
Horn in.1949. the victim would
have celebrated- his 20th birthday
June 7. He was the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Klumpp,
who survive him.
A 1968 graduate of Wilson
Central School, he had been
scheduled to report for induction

Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on November 8, 1957, she is the daughter of Silvin and Yvonne (Ziehm) Bricca.
Lori was a 1975 graduate of Niagara Wheatfield High School, was employed at the Newfane Postal Office and Mark Smith Insurance in Lockport. She was a former member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, in North Tonawanda. Hobbies included arts and crafts, and baking.
Lori was predeceased by her husband, Michael Myrtle in 2006. Survivors include her parents of Grand Island; a brother, Owen (Melanie) Bricca; four sisters, Naomi (James) Parkinson, Heidi Wallace, Rachel (Vincent) Corulli and Amy (Fred) Deer; several aunts and uncles and many nieces and nephews.

Marla B. (Zastrow) Hansen, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital. She was 51. She was born in Lewiston on February 28, 1964, a daughter of the late Elton F. and Berylmarie (Sawyer) Zastrow. She attended local schools and graduated from LaSalle Senior High School in 1982. Marla then attended Buffalo State College where she received her Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Education.
She was a longtime member of Riverside Presbyterian Church and she enjoyed reading (especially Stephen King), photography, wine collecting and attending independent wrestling events but most of all she was a loving wife and mother.
Marla is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, Francis “Frank” Hansen and two daughters: Janine (Michael Caldarelli) Hansen and Jennifer (Andy Winters) Hansen. She is also survived by two siblings: Mark and Marshall Johnson. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother Martin Johnson.

Donald Upton, formerly of Wilson, passed away September 27, 2015, after a two year battle with cancer. He was born January 26, 1963 to Melvin and Jean (Zastrow) Upton, who predeceased him. Don graduated from Wilson Central. He moved to Arizona 20 years ago, where he worked a a commercial electrician.

Don is survived by his wife, Alyssa (Farace) Upton; his stepsons, Ryan and Anthony; and his beloved pets, Lucky and Bella. Mr. Kroening was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years,  Sandra L. [Travers] Kroening, two sons Jeffrey and Timothy (Rachel) Kroening, two daughters Rebecca (William) Davis and Katherine (John) Northam, six grandchildren Abigail, Emily, Mason, Reagan, Bryce and Colton, two brothers David (Sue) and Mark (Donna) Kroening, two sisters-in-law of Janelle and Debbie Kroening, also many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Kroening was the brother of the late Donald and Gary Kroening.
Private funeral services were held at the wishes of his family.
Memorials may be made in his name to St. John's Lutheran School.

SANBORN — Donald R. Kroening, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012, in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital Lewiston, NY. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on May 2, 1952, the son of Rose (Zastrow) Kroening and the late Raymond Kroening.

Don graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School in 1970. He was employed with Harrison Radiator, later Delphi, for over 35 years, before retiring in 2005. Don was an Exempt Member of the Pekin Fire Company. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was an avid sportsman.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 38 years, Janelle L. (Wendt) Kroening; three daughters, Melissa (Gordon) Hermanson, Jr. of Sanborn, NY, Kelly (Bryan) Lane of Rochester, NY and Rachel (George) Sisson, Jr. of Amherst, NY; one granddaughter, Kaylee Lane; three brothers, Ronald (Sandra) Kroening, David (Sue) Kroening and Mark (Donna) Kroening, all of Ransomville, NY; one sister-in-law, Debra Kroening; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Don was the brother of the late Gary Kroening.

The family will be present on Monday from 4-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM at the Community Bible Church, 4168 Church Road, Lockport, NY, with the Rev. Brad Delp officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to the Community Bible Church. Interment at Mount View Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.

Judith A. "Judy" St. Onge, age 66, of the Town of Cambria, died on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 in the Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst, after a lengthy illness. Judy was born on February 12, 1948 in Lockport, NY, the daughter of the late LeRoy and Eleanor (Tompkins) Zastrow.

A lifelong resident of the Town of Cambria, Judy was a 1966 graduate of Wilson High School. On August 26, 1967, she married David St. Onge and together they raised three children. Judy was a Clerk employed by Peter's Dry Cleaning in Lockport for 21 years. For the past three years she worked as a School Bus Aide for the Ridge Road Bus Lines. Judy enjoyed gaming, knitting, and above all else, being with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, David; two sons, David and Darren St. Onge; a daughter, Sue Beyer; her grandchildren, Kayleith, Christina, and Joe St. Onge, Zach and Kenzie Beyer; a brother, Michael (Terry) Zastrow; and two sisters, Terry Zastrow and Penny (Ed) Dysard, all of the Town of Cambria.

Terry Zastrow, age 63 of North Ridge Road Town of Cambria, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday October 11, 2014 in the Buffalo General Medical Center.

Terry was born January 25, 1951 in Newfane, NY, the daughter of the late LeRoy and Eleanor (Tompkins) Zastrow. She was a 1969 graduate of Wilson High School and after graduation she started working as a clerk for the U.S. Post Service in Wilson, a position she held until her retirement in 1992.

Terry had a heart of gold and a smile that would make you smile. She was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Newfane, loved knitting, ceramics and painting.

She is survived by a sister, Penni (Ed) Dysard, a brother, Michael (Terry) Zastrow, and a brother in law, David St. Onge all of the Town of Cambria; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved with all her heart and will be sadly missed by them all. She was predeceased by a sister, Judith "Judy" St. Onge.

Douglas W. Zastrow, age 60, of Lockport, died on Friday, January 11, 2013 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst, NY, after a lengthy illness. Doug was born on February 4, 1952 in Newfane, the son of the late Willard F. and Shirley (Wilkins) Zastrow.
He was a 1970 graduate of Starpoint High School. Doug was an assembly line worker, employed by GM Harrison Radiator/Delphi in Lockport for 30 years, retiring in 2001. He was an avid hunter, NY Yankees Fan, and sports enthusiast. Doug enjoyed bowling, baseball, golf, and watching football. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by a son, Robert D. (Andrea) Zastrow; a daughter, Veronica (Norman) Thuman, both of Lockport; his grandchildren, Kenneth, Nicholas, Kelsey, Norman, III, Jacob, Aliyah, Rebecca, Gabriela, and Isabella; a brother, Duane W. Zastrow of Clayton, NC; a sister, Darlene A. Zastrow of the Town of Cambria; a cousin, Christine Sattelberg and her daughter, Amanda; two nephews, Chad and Jeremy (Amie) Zastrow; and a great-nephew, Cyrus Zastrow. He was predeceased by a brother, Donald F. Zastrow.

LOCKPORT — Donald F. Zastrow, age 57, of the Town of Cambria, died Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, after a lengthy illness.

Don was born June 21, 1953 in Lockport, the son of the late Willard F. and Shirley A. (Wilkins) Zastrow. He was a 1971 graduate of Starpoint High School and had served in the U. S. Marine Corps, honorably discharged in 1973. Don worked for Bob McCollum Farms in the Town of Cambria for 20 years.

He is survived by a sister, Darlene A. Zastrow of the Town of Cambria; two brothers, Douglas W. Zastrow of the Town of Cambria and Duane W. Zastrow of North Carolina; his nieces and nephews, Chad and Jeremy Zastrow, Veronica (Norman) Thuman and Rob (Andrea) Zastrow; and cousin, Christine Sattleberg and her daughter, Amanda, who helped him throughout his illness.

Don had requested that his body be donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Buffalo.
