    PHILLIPS - Richard E. Phillips, 61, of the Town of Wheatfield Wednesday (May 30, 1984) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr Phillips was a lifelong resident of this area, a veteran of World War II and former employee of Bell Aircraft. He is survived by his wife, Shirley (nee Lovegrove) Phillips; a daughter. Miss Jillann S Phillips, at home; three sons, Richard E. (Charlene) Phillips Sr . of North Tonawanda, Timothy E. (Linda) Phillips of Fulton, N Y , and Michael W. (Teresa) Phillips of Sanborn ; six grand children, Richard E Jr., Robert M., Timothy P., Carrie Anne, William J. and Mark A.; his mother, Mrs. Emma Phillips and two sisters . Miss Shirley Phillips and Mrs Earl (Patricia) Leverentz, both of North Tonawanda. Graveside services were held this morning at St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery with the Rev Thomas K. Spahn officiating. He had worked as a project manager for Ames Department Stores and as a long-haul truck driver. He was a lifelong member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. He was the son of the late Richard and Shirley (Lovegrove) Phillips. Beloved father of Mark (Kristina) Phillips, grandfather of Alexander Phillips. Brother of Jillann (Timothy) Poole of Tonawanda, Timothy (Linda) Phillips of Lakeland, FL, and the late Richard (late Charlene) Phillips. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. He enjoyed playing Lotto, he was an avid sports fan, especially the L.A. Dodgers. He was the husband of the late Charlene (Schoenfeldt) Phillips. Beloved father of Richard (Kristen) Phillips and Robert (Rory) Phillips. Grandfather of Emily, Charlene, Corina, and Nicholas. Great-grandfather of Noah and Ellie. Brother of Timothy (Linda) Phillips, Michael Phillips, and Jill (Timothy) Poole. Uncle of several nieces and a nephew.
    Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St., at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Tuesday from 12 Noon to 2 P.M. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery. Guest register available at frettholdfuneralhome.com.
