Doris E. Maglie (Ellman), age 90, of Grand Island. Daughter of the late Hubert and Mildred (Krull) Ellman. Wife of the late Sal “The Barber” Maglie and the late Walter Novotny, has been called to rest with Jesus on January 24, 2018. She was the sister of the late Elaine Ellman.

A Graduate of North Tonawanda High School, Doris was a long time Legal Secretary for the law firm Cohen, Swados, Wright, Hanifin, Bradford, and Brett. Doris was also a life-time member of St. John Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, where she also attended grade school.

Doris had a passion for her Cocker Spaniel dogs. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, the occasional Manhattan, and crossword puzzles. She is survived by her daughter Holly (Novotny) & Richard Yager Sr., son Joseph Maglie, granddaughter Jamie (Fuhr) & Keith Krantz, grandson Richard Yager Jr., and Cocker Spaniel Zoe. 

Family and friends are invited to come pay their respects at Frethold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward RD. in North Tonawanda on Thursday February 1st from 3-8 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 2 at 1030 A.M. from St. John Lutheran Church, Ward Rd. and Niagara Falls Blvd. She will be laid to rest at St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Doris’s name to the ASPCA.
