    short illness. A lifelong resident of
    the town, he retired as a farmer
    eight years ago.
    Mr. Schroeder Is survived by his
    wife. Louise Vosteen Schroeder; a
    daughter, Mrs. Benjamin E. Mueller,
    of the Town of Wheatfield; three
    grandchildren, a brother. Louis
    Schroeder, of Lawton. S. D And two
    sisters. Mrs. Rose Jagow. this city,
    and Mrs. Emily Zimmer, of Philadelphia.
    Funeral services will be held tomorrow
    at 2 p. m. from the residence
    and at 2:30 o'clock at St.
    John's Lutheran church, St. Johnsburg.
    The Rev. Walter Thlemecke
    will officiate and Interment will be
    in the St. John's cemetery.

    Mrs. Emma A. Strassburg, 72, a life-long resident of the town of Wheatfield, died last night at her home on the Oderboltz road, near Bergholtz, after a prolonged illness. She was born in St. Johnsburg. Surviving are a husband, William F., two brothers, Edward Schroeder of St. Johnsburg and Louis Schroeder of Devil's Lake, N. D., and two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Zimmer of Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Rosa Jagow of St. Johnsburg. Rites will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hamp Funeral Home, 37 Adam street, and at 2:45 from the Holy Ghost Lutheran church in Bergholtz. Rev. John Kuchenbecker will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Ghost cemetery.

    A life long member of St. John Lutheran Church, Wheatfield, he was a social member of St. Johnsburg Fire Company, member of the Wheatfield Seniors, the Historical Society of North German Settlements, and enjoyed traveling. Robert was employed at Ken Wendt's Propane Gas Service, Sanborn, until his retirement. 
    Survivors include his loving wife, Leona A. (Schumacher) Schroeder, they were married November 22, 1947; two sons, Donald of Wheatfield and Ronald of New York City; a brother, Roy Schroeder; cousins, Doris Wollaber and Marilyn Winters; and several nieces and nephews. 
    Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael Borgstede, on Saturday at 11:00 AM in St. John Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. 
    Memorial contributions may be made to the church, or St. Johnsburg Fire Company.

    Of the Town of Wheatfield, NY, passed away on  Sunday, April 16, 2023, at his home.  He was born in the Town of Wheatfield, NY on June 2, 1928, a son of the late Edward and  Ella [Hoffmeister] Schroeder.
    Mr. Schroeder served with the US Army from 1955 to 1957.
    He was employed with the Town of Wheatfield Highway Department for over 25 years, retiring in 1989.
    Mr. Schroeder enjoyed classic cars, antiques, riding his Harley and traveling.
    He is survived by two nephews Ronald and Donald Schroeder, his dear friend Carole Kincaid and her daughter Natalie (Erick Underwood) Borga, also many cousins  and friends.
    He was the brother of the late Robert Schroeder.
    His family will be present on Friday from 12-1:00 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Michael Borgstede officiating.
    Interment with Military Honors in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.
