    Margaret E. "Maggie" Fortune Obituary

    Margaret E. ''Maggie'' Fortune 73 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Schoellkopf Health Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 6, 1951 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Velma (McCullough) Stahlman.


    Maggie worked at the Niagara Falls Community Mission and as a registered nurse at Erie County Medical Center. She was a faithful member of Bacon Memorial Presbyterian Church and she loved her dogs and cats.


    She is survived by her daughter, Alicia (Jamie) Richardson, grandson, Jackson; her partner of 40 years, James Copia; sisters: Joann (Rev. Richard) Neumann and Irene (Jeff) Fraser-Young. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Marcia J. Gilbo.


    Friends may call Wednesday, October 2nd from 3-6 PM at Bacon Memorial Presbyterian Church, 166 59th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 5:30PM, with Pastor Lisa Giacomazza officiating. In Lieu of flowers, donations in Maggie's memory may be made to Bacon Memorial Presbyterian Church, 166 59th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.     Marcia J. Gilbo , age 63, passed away May 16, 2020 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY,  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Velma (McCullough) Stahlman.  Marcia attended local schools.  She was a former employee of the Pizza Oven for over thirty years .
    Marcia’ s favorite adventure was thrift shopping , She also enjoyed attending concerts at Art Park in Lewiston, but most of all she cherished spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
    Marcia is survived by her children, Jessica Gilbo, Michael Gilbo and Erin (Edward) Tredo, her grandchildren Aaryk Gilbo, Lillee Gilbo, Michaela Gilbo and Edward Tredo VII, her three sisters, Maggie (Jim) Fortune, JoAnn (Rev. Richard) Neumann and Irene (Jeff) Fraser-Young. Marcia was blessed with her dear friends Deb Latham-Pembleton and Bonnie Coram-Lewis. Marcia was predeceased by the love of her life, Howard Irish, who passed away in 2013.

    Jessica was employed for 24 years at Tops International in Niagara Falls in the Bakery Department.  She will be remembered for her larger than life personality, her loud demeanor, love of dancing, and for living life to the fullest.
    In addition to her father, Jessica is survived by her sister, Erin (Edward) Tredo, her brother, Michael Gilbo, her nieces and nephews, Aaryk Gilbo, Lillee Gilbo, Michaela Gilbo, and Edward Tredo VII, as well several aunts, uncles and cousins.  She was predeceased by her “children” – her cat Puffy and her dog Abby.
    Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23 from 1 – 4 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will be held at 4 PM with her uncle, Rev.
