North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 9/16/1926

Ernest C. Broecker. 78 years old
died yesterday afternoon at his home
on the Nash road in the town of Wheat
field after a lingering illness. He was
born in Germany. He had been a
resident of Wheatfield for the past 38
years He is survived by a wife, two
sons, Henry F. Broecker and George
Pankow; one daughter, Mrs. Anna
Bergholz and two grandchildren, all
residents of Wheatfield. The funeral
will be held Sunday afternoon at 9
o'clock from the house and half an
hour later at the St John's church at
St. Johnsburg. Rev. Walter Thiemecke
officiated. Burial will be in the St.
John's cemetery.

TOWN BUILDING INSPECTOR DIES
Town of Wheatfield, Jan 18 - Building inspector Henry F. Broecker 65, of Ward Rd. died last night shortly after being admitted to DeGraff Memorial Hospital, North Tonawanda. He had just returned from a Town Board meeting, when he was stricken ill at his home. A life long resident of the town, Mr. broecker was a building contractor for 25 years. He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of Town of Wheatfield Post, American Legion. He was a member of St John's Lutheran Church and of the Lutheran Layman's League. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Mellenthine Broecker, a daughter Mrs. Emmet Killian, a brother George Pankow, and one granddaughter, all of the Town of Wheatfield. Funeral services wll be held at 2 pm at the home and at 2:30 o'clock at St. John's Church. The Rev J. Walter Thiemecke will officiate. Interment will be in St John's Lutheran Cemetery.
