    CITY OF TONAWANDA — Violet M. (nee Jendrian) Wells, age 90, of the City of Tonawanda, died on Monday, May 6, 2013, after a brief illness. Born in Buffalo, NY, she had been a resident of Tonawanda for more than 60 years, and was the wife of Robert W. Wells, who died in 2002; and mother of Cheryl McCarthy, who died in 2003. Violet was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in the City of Tonawanda, Order of the Eastern Star Auxiliary, and the Tonawanda Senior Citizens.

    She is survived by two children, Marlene (the late Kenneth) Lynch of Dunkirk, NY, and Brian (Bethann) Wells of West Falls, NY; two grandchildren, Steven (Kim) Lynch and Diane McKune; and three great-grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley Lynch, and Alexa McKune.

    Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-7 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), City of Tonawanda. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 9, at 11 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church, corner of William & Scott Sts., City of Tonawanda. Friends invited. Rev. Andrew Abraham and Rev. Robert L. Rickus will officiate. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice Foundation of WNY, P.O. Box 590, Buffalo, NY 14240; or to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 107 Scott St., Tonawanda, NY 14150.
