    Rachel M. Fowler, 54, of

    Road, Town of Lewiston, died
    unexpectedly Saturday (Nov.
    2', 1968), at Mount St. Mary's
    Hospital. She suffered an apparent
    heart attack.
    Mrs. Fowler was born July
    12, 1914" in Lockport and had
    lived at this address for 17
    "years.
    She is survived by her husband,
    Clayton, and three
    daughters, Mrs, C l a r e n ce
    (Nancy) Poteet, of Pensacola,
    Fla.; Mrs. Raymon (Donna)
    Swain, this city, and Mrs.
    Vincent Greenleaf, of "Wilson;
    a sister, Mrs. Glen Bistoff of
    Lyndonville, N.Y; and two
    grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be
    held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at
    the Hardison Funeral Home,
    Lewiston. The Rev. William
    Devine, of the United Presbyterian
    Church, Town of
    Niagara, will officiate.
    Burial will be in North
    Ridge cemetery.
    Contributions may be made
    to the American Heart
    Association. .
    Friends may call from 7
    p.m. to 9 p.m. today, and
    2 .to. 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to
    9 p.m. Monday.

    LEWISTON - Mrs. Rachel
    M. Fowler, 54, of 1645 Saunders
    Settlement Road, wife of Clay-
    ton Fowler, died unexpectedly
    Saturday (Nov. 2, 1968) at
    Mount St. Mary's Hospital here.
    Mrs. Fowler was pronounced
    dead on arrival at the hospital
    after being stricken with an ac-
    ute coronary occlusion at her
    home.
    She was born July 12, 1914 in
    Lockport, a daughter of John
    and Edith Sanders. She had liv-
    ed in Lewiston for the past 17
    years.
    Surviving, besides her husband,

    are two daughters, Mrs.
    Clarence (Nancy) Poteet of Pen.
    sacola, Fla., and Mrs. Raymond
    (Donna) Swan of Niagara Falls;
    a stepdaughter Mrs. Vincent
    Greenleaf of Wilson; a sister,
    Mrs. Glenn Bistoff of Lydonville,
    and two grandchildren.
    Funeral services were held
    this afternoon from the Hardison
    Funeral Home, Ridge and
    Fourth Street, here. The Rev.
    William Devine, pastor of Niagara
    United Presbyterian
    Church, Town of Niagara, officiated.
    Burial was in North Ridge
    Cemetery.

    Rachael married RANKIE, Mervin R on 19 Jun 1936 in Town of Lockport, Niagara County, NY. Mervin (son of RANKIE, Frederick and HOCHADEL, Annie) was born about 1913 in New York; died in 1948. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

    Donna L. (Rankie) Swann of the Town of Lewiston passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2020 in Niagara Hospice House. She was 78. She was born February 17, 1942, the daughter of the late Mervin and Rachel Rankie.
    Donna was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children. She loved the times she spent with her dear family and friends, including breakfasts at Jay's Place and her ice cream from Hoover's Dairy.
    Donna was predeceased by her husband, Raymond F. Swann in 2010 and a sister, Nancy Poteet. She is survived by her two children, LuAnn (Beryl) Coleman and Brian (Kristin Johnson) Swann; her step grandchildren; and step great-grandchildren; many wonderful friends, Carol, Izzy, Louise, Yvonne and Max; her wonderful neighbors, whom she thought of as family, Lysle and Betsy Newberry.
    Per Donna's final wish, she donated her body to the University of Buffalo Medical School. The interment and services will be private at the convenience of the family in North Ridge Cemetery.
    The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to all the staff at Niagara Hospice House, who provided great comfort to her and her family in her final days.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice Inc., or a favorite charity of one's choice.

    Donna married SWANN, Raymond F on 4 Sep 1965 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. Raymond (son of SWANN, Raymond and YOUNGMAN, Vera) was born on 8 Dec 1938 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY; died on 6 Sep 2010 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
