    Soon After Induction.

    The body of Private Norman A.
    Schultz, 32, son of Mr. and Mrs. Al-
    bert schultz, of 169 Eighty-first
    street, this city, who was found dead
    at Camp Robinson, Arkansas, last
    Tuesday, will be sent to this city for
    funeral services and burial, the Rev.
    George Hoyer pastor of the Zlon
    Lutheran church, Cayuga drive, said
    today. The time of the arrival has
    not been determined by members of
    the young selectee's family.
    The Rev. Mr. Hoyer said that the
    parents of Private Schultz received
    a telegram from officials of the
    Arkansas camp Friday night, informing
    them of his death. They
    had received no previous information
    regarding his death, Mr. Hoyer
    said, before they read the announcement
    in the Owl edition of the Gazette
    on Friday afternoon.
    Private Schultz had been employed
    as janitor of the Cayuga
    drive church. He left this city with
    one of the last groups of selectees
    sent by the La Salle area draft
    board and was stationed at Fort
    Niagara two days before being sent
    to Camp Robinson. He had been
    missing since May 3, according to
    statements of camp officials.
    According to an Associated Press
    dispatch Friday, Private Schultz's
    body was found in a sewer manhole
    at the Arkansas camp. Besides
    his parents he Is survived.by a brother,
    Herbert, and five sisters, Mrs.
    George Swift, Mrs. William Thompson,
    Mrs. Truswell and Mrs. Flateau,
    all of this city, and Mrs. Bennett, of
    Cleveland, O.

    Obituary of Betty Jane Schmoyer Betty Jane Schmoyer, age 89 of Youngstown and Ft. Meyers FL, died Monday November 2, 2015 at her summer residence in Youngstown after a brief illness.Betty was born April 24, 1926 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late George and Irene (Schultz) Swift. She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and on August 16, 1946 she married Paul J. Schmoyer. Paul was the founder and owner of Schmoyer Co. Inc. which developed and managed Willow Beach Campgrounds in Youngstown. Paul predeceased Betty in 2014, but she was very active in the operation of Willow Beach. Betty was a member of the Lutheran Church of The Messiah in Lewiston and a member of the Service Guild beginning in 1961. She also enjoyed her annual involvement in the Lewiston Peach Festival.She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Diane) Schmoyer, Kyle (Harold) Sachs, and Stephen (Denise) Schmoyer; her grandchildren, Adam, Matthew, Christine, Colin, Christopher, Benjamin, and Sarah; three great grandchildren; and four sisters, Phyllis (late Ed)Schroeder, Patricia (late Roy) Shafer, Georgia (Jim) Faassen, and Jill (late Jack) Mears. She was predeceased by a brother, George Swift.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 28, at 11:00 am in the Lutheran Church of The Messiah, 915 Oneida St., Lewiston, with the Rev. Thomas Mason officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of The Messiah.     Born on June 12, 1959 in Niagara Falls, NY Scott was the son of Patricia Shafer of Youngstown, NY. He is survived by two children, Jennifer (Jonathan) Payne and Dr. Jonathan Shafer; sister Dr. Starrin Shafer; brother Steven (Stephanie) Shafer; grandchildren Natalie and Emilee and extended family. He was predeceased by his father Roy Shafer and a sister Suzanne Koepsell.
    A graduate of North Tonawanda High School, Scott earned a degree in Applied Science, Computer Aided Design and Mechanical Engineering Technology from Niagara County Community College and began his career in the engineering and construction industries. Scott worked construction for Herbert F. Darling Inc. and Schmoyer Construction Co., engineering for Delphi Thermal and most recently as a Project Manager with Shannon Enterprises in North Tonawanda.
    An avid sportsman, Scott enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved tending his garden in the summer months, snowmobiling in the winter and supporting the Buffalo hometown teams.
    Scott loved spending time with his family including his special Aunt Jill, his mother Pat and was especially proud of the accomplishments of his daughter Jennifer and son Jonathan.
    Visitations will be held on FRIDAY (Dec 14) from 4-8 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY 14131. Burial will take at 11:00 AM on SATURDAY in Oakland Rural Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Ransomville Vol Fire Co. or Roswell Park Alliance Foundation PO Box 631 Buffalo, NY 14240 in support of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

    Youngstown - Suzanne T. (Shafer) Koepsell, age 45, of Youngstown, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 30, 2009 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Suzanne was born August 19, 1963 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, the daughter of Roy J. and Patricia A. (Swift) Shafer of Youngstown.She was a 1982 graduate of Niagara Lutheran High School in North Tonawanda as well as a graduate of the Cheryl Fell School of Business in Niagara Falls. Suzanne had worked at Fairchild Manor Nursing Home in Lewiston as a Nurse’s Aide and had also worked as a private Home Aide. Most recently, Suzanne had worked in the hospitality industry. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Niagara Falls. Suzanne enjoyed music, reading, animals, and gardening but most of all she loved being with her two sons and family.She is survived by her sons, Tyler R. and Joshua S. Koepsell, both of Lewiston; her parents, Roy J. and Patricia A. (Swift) Shafer of Youngstown; a sister, Starrin R. Shafer of Greenville, SC; two brothers, Scott S. Shafer of Ransomville, and Steven S. (Stephanie) Shafer of Greenville, SC; her former husband, Jeffrey Koepsell of Lewiston, and several nieces and nephews.Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N.
