LOCKPORT — An elderly Lockport woman died
in Lockport Memorial Hospital today (Dec. 2, 1968)
four weeks after being struck by. a car in S. Transit
Street.'. .
Mrs. Elizabeth Meyers, 85, of
29 W. High St., had been a
patient at the hospital since the
Nov. 4 mishap.
An autopsy was being performed
this morning to determine
cause of death.
Born in Wolcottsville, July 6,
1883, she was the daughter of
Frederick and Anna Fleischer
Gense.
A resident of this city for the
last 69 years, she was a member
of the St. Peter's United
Church of Christ.
She and her husband, Joseph
Meyers Sr., recently celebrated
their 63rd wedding anniversary.
Beside her husband,-she is
survived by a son, Joseph Jr.,
and six daughters, Mrs. Harold
Sy, Mrs. Anna Downey, Mrs.
William Grcenman, Mrs. Thomas
Wilson, Mrs. William Hennessy
and Mrs. Harold Wells,
all of Lockport, 11 grandchildren
and 19 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Gaul
Funeral Home beginning Tuesday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.,
where services will be held
Thursday at 2 p.m.
Burial in Glcnwood Cemetery

Irene Downey, 82, of 29 West
High Street, a city employe,
died Sunday (May 9, 1971)
at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. John Van Bourgondien
of 9624 Tonawanda Creek
Road, Clarence Center.
A native and life-long resident
of Lockport, M r s .
Downey was born July 11,
1908, the daughter of Joseph
and Elizabeth Gense Meyers.
She had been employed at
the former Niagara Supply
Firm here as a secretary for
25 years. For the past ten
years, she had been employed
in the city treasurer's office
here.
Besides her daughter, she
is s u r v i v e d by four
grandchildren and five
sisters, Mrs. Harold Sy, Mrs.
William Greepman, M r s .
Thomas Wilson, Mrs. Harold
Wells and Miss Ruth Meyers,
and a brother, Joseph Meyers
Jr., all of Lockport.
Friends may call from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the
Gaul Funeral Home, 263 East
Avenue,. where services will
be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Dorothy Jo Sullivan Wells passed away March 9, 2015 in Niagara Hospice House. Born in Lockport on January 4, 1924 she was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Gense) Meyers. Dorothy worked for Harrison Radiator for 30 years in production retiring July 1, 1985. She was a member of the Lockport United Church of Christ, UAW Retirees, Navy/Marine Club, IOOB Moose Lodge, VFW, B. Leo Dolan Post 410 American Legion and Redman Club. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Harold “Butch” Wells who passed away in 1989 and was the former wife of the late Ward Sullivan. Dorothy is survived by her two children John (Dianne) Sullivan and Sandra Crimi; grandmother of Christine and Jennifer Sullivan, Tanisha Chambers, Tiffany Lippincott Wade, Tracy Crimi and late Mark Colletti; great grandmother of Myah Wade and DeShaan Vincent; sister-in-law of Sue Meyers; sister of the late Ruth Winters, Rosita Wilson, Evelyn Sy, Irene Downey, Josephine Greenman, Edith Myers, and Joseph Meyers; also several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Thursday, March 12th from 4-8 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will be held Friday, March 13th at 11 AM. MIDDLEPORT —
Audrey J. Jacobs of Middleport, died peacefully at the Briody Healthcare Facility with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Jacobs was born in Lockport, NY, on October 14, 1933 daughter of the late Harold and Evelyn (Meyers) Sy.
Mrs. Jacobs was a homemaker who has lived in Middleport since 1993 before that she had resided in Gasport. She enjoyed her family, crocheting, knitting and watching her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Rowland H. Jacobs; three sons, James (Maryellen) Jacobs of Middleport, Jeff (Darcy) Jacobs of Newfane and Gerald "Jake" (Roxanne) Jacobs of Middleport; four grandchildren, Christopher Jacobs, Brianna Jacobs, Ciara Jacobs and Andrew Jacobs, all of Middleport and one great-grandson, Logan. Also surviving is a sister Nancy (Norm) Zobel of Amherst; and a brother, Roland (Nancy) Sy of Lockport.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport where a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Obituary of Sandra Lee Crimi

Sandra L. Crimi passed away May 8, 2021 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst.  Born January 4, 1941 in Lockport she was the daughter of Ward Sullivan and Dorothy Meyers-Wells.  Sandra worked for Harrison Radiator in production for 23 years.  She was a member of the UAW Retiree’s Travel Club and enjoyed shopping, playing BINGO, going to the casino, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Sandra is survived by her daughter, Tracy Crimi; longtime companion Jerry S. Kirkpatrick; brother John L. (Diane) Sullivan.  She was predeceased by her son Mark J. Colletti.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrated Wednesday, May 19th at 1 PM in Christ Episcopal Church, 7145 Fieldcrest Dr., Lockport.  Interment was in Acacia Park Cemetery.  Visit pruddenandkandt.com.
