    LOCKPORT - A retired bank custodian, Herman F. Bugenhagen, 84, of 223 Waterman St., died Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 13, 1965) at his home. He had been ill one year. Born Jun 18, 1880 in Clarence Center, the son of Theodore and Louisa Brunning Bugenhagen, he has lived here 60 years. He was formerly employed at the united Board and Carton Co. here for 15 years and later worked as custodian
    of the Lohrman Building for five years. He was employed as custodian at the Niagara County bank office of the Marine Trust Co. of Western New York for 30 years before his retirement 10 years ago. He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church of Lockport. He and his wife, Lydia Dewitz Bugenhagen, were married Nov. 29, 1922, in Buffalo. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Howard Wendel and Mrs. Harold Conlin, both of Lockport, and Mrs. Arnold Luskey. Middleport; two sons, Emory F. and Raymond H. Bugenhagen,
    both of Lockport a sister, Mrs. Marvin Raquet, Clarence Center; two brothers Fred Bugenhagen, Lockport. and Edward Bugenhagen, North Tonawanda; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Lange Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service
    will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by Rev. Harry D. Hawthorne, pastor of the First English Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Clarence Center

    LOCKPORT — Marian Bugenhagen Luskey, age 101, of Lockport, NY, died peacefully in her sleep at Odd Fellow and Rebekah Health Facility on Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Born on March 6, 1910 on Lewis St. in Lockport, she was the daughter of Herman and Augusta Heiman Bugenhagen.

    She graduated from Bryant & Stratton College and worked at Harrison Radiator and Lockport Cotton Batting. In 1937, she married her late husband, Arnold F. Luskey and in 1946 they moved to Middleport where she lived for 40 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family, especially all her grandchildren. Before moving to Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Facility, she resided happily at The Lockport Presbyterian Home for almost four years. While there she was named Queen of Old Home Days for Lockport's celebration last summer.

    Survived by daughters, Susan Morrison (Gerald) and Jane Corser (Don); five grandchildren, Mark Morrison (Virginia), Michael Morrison (Corey), Melinda Morrison Scales (Bryan) and Jeff and Chris Corser (Laura); four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ciara and Jack Scales and Andrew Corser; her brother, Raymond (Mary) Bugenhagen; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Arnold F. Luskey in 1969; her brother, Emory Bugenhagen; her sisters, Marguerite Wendel and Frances Conlin; and sisters-in-law, Helen Bugenhagen and Helen Donald.

    A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Lockport Presbyterian Home, 305 High Street, Lockport, NY. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Lockport Public Library.

    Obituary of Raymond Bugenhagen

    Raymond Bugenhagen of Lockport passed away on May 5, 2022 at the age of 96 years.  He was born on October 5, 1925 in Lockport to the late Herman and Lydia (Dewitz) Bugenhagen.  Ray served in the US Navy during WW II from 1943-1946 and was a signalman 2nd Class aboard the USS LSM 532.  He earned his graduate degree from GMI, Flint, Michigan in 1952, retiring as a Superintendent of Industrial Engineering for Harrison Radiator, GMC  in 1983.  Ray was an active volunteer at ENH – Lockport site for several years and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
    He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Virginia (Connor) Bugenhagen in 2012, his son James in 2010, also sisters Marguerite Wendel, Marian Luskey, Frances Conlin, and brother Emory Bugenhagen.
    Ray is survived by his daughters Molly (John) Fachko, Judith (Michael) Mack, twin daughters Laurie Bugenhagen and Maureen (the late Leonard) Connolly; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

    H. Douglas Conlin passed away February 5, 2020 under the care of his loving family and Niagara Hospice. Born June 23, 1939 in Lockport he was the son of Harold H. and Frances E. (Bugenhagen) Conlin. Doug was a DeSales High School graduate Class of 1958 and served in the in the US Air Force active duty for two years at Lowry Air Base in Denver, CO and six years in the 107th Tactical Fighter Wing, Air Force National Guard in Niagara Falls. He worked as a stock man for A&P in Lockport, the FBI in Washington DC where he was a fingerprint technician, and from 1964-1994 for Delphi Harrison. Doug was a life member of both the Council 319 Knights of Columbus and Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly 754. He and his family were very active with the 4-H being awarded Family of the Year and also active with Opportunities Unlimited being awarded the Opportunities Unlimited Family Recognition Award. Doug enjoyed family celebrations, was devoted to assisting his family members with their various activities, enjoyed dining out, and Sunday afternoon rides to Olcott Beach.     Joan F. Bertino passed away June 30, 2022 under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born June 17, 1942 in Lockport she was the daughter of Harold and Frances (Bugenhagen) Conlin.  Joan earned her Bachelors of Science in Education from SUNY Geneseo.  She started working for Pittsford Central School District in 1964 and retired from the Lockport City School District in 2000.  Joan was a member of St. John the Baptist RC Church, sorority Alpha Kappa Phi, and the Lockport Women’s College Club.  She enjoyed gardening, attending arts and crafts shows, going to the theater, and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.  Joan was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Bertino who passed away November 7, 2005.
    Joan is survived by her children Joseph (Conny) Bertino, Stephen Bertino, and Julie (Jeffrey) Hopcia; grandchildren Lucy and Isabelle Bertino, Marnie, Chloe, and Michael Hopcia; siblings Anne (Dr. William) Smith and the late H. Douglas Conlin; also survived by her sisters-in-law Linda E. Conlin, Cecelia Boudreau, Joyce Bevins, Mary Ferguson-King, Sally Bertino and several nieces and nephews.

    NASHUA, NH — James D. Bugenhagen, of Nashua, NH, died at his home Friday, April 23, 2010, after a brief illness. Born in Lockport on July 5, 1953, he was the son of Raymond Bugenhagen of Lockport and the late Mary (Connor) Bugenhagen. He was a graduate of Lockport High School, Class of 1971. Jim resided in Londonberry, NH for several years before moving to Masua, and had been employed as a driver with Eastern Propane & Oil of Hudson for over 20 years. He loved his family and friends and will be remembered for his kindness to others. Jim enjoyed barbecuing, fishing, playing his guitar, loved football and was a huge New England Patriots' fan, and loved animals, especially his dog, Maggie.

    Besides his father, Jim is also survived by his wife, Jenny Harris Bugenhagen, with whom he shared 14 years; father of James (Laura) Bugenhagen, Jr., Michael (Denise) Bugenhagen and Katie Bugenhagen; step-father of Michelle Stover; grandfather of Emily, Jack and Kyrah Bugenhagen; brother of Molly (John) Fachko, Judy (Michael) Mack, Maureen Connolly and Laurie Bugenhagen; also several nieces and nephews.
