June L. (Townsend Armagost) Pressley, 93, passed February 11, 2017 at Northgate Health Care Facility under the care of Hospice after a lengthy illness. She was born in the Town of Cambria in the family home on Lower Mountain Rd. on September 22, 1923, the daughter of the late Clarence and Martha (Williams) Townsend.She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer D. Pressley and her former husband Earl H. Armagost.She was also predeceased by her stepmother, Frances Miller Townsend.

June attended Trott Vocational High School. She and her husband Elmer, owned and operated the Willow Motel on Niagara Falls Blvd, North Tonawanda for 22 years.She was a former member of the Town of Wheatfield Senior Citizens and the Town of Niagara Senior Citizens.She attended DeGraff Adult Day Care Center, North Tonawanda, where she enjoyed the staff, fellowship and activities.She was an avid bowler and reader and loved to travel and spend time with her family.  The family would like to thank both the Hospice and Northgate staffs for their love, care and compassion for “Junebug” as she was affectionately nicknamed.It was a tremendous comfort during a difficult time.
 
June is survived by her daughters Betty Armagost (Allen Sharp)(late Thomas) Shields of Dublin, GA; Nancy Armagost (late Robert) Adams of Niagara Falls; two stepdaughters, Doreen (Barry) Melton of Lewiston, NY & Elaine (Ross) Beecher of Bradenton, FL., one stepson Eric (Marie) Pressley, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, one brother Robert (Connie) Townsend of Phoenix, AZ, a cousin Margueritte (Peggy) Townsend Decker of Pennsylvania. Her blended family includes 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren a great-great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.

June was predeceased by her brothers Russell (late Katherine) Townsend, Glenn (late Grace) Townsend, Clarence (late Mamie) Townsend, Gerald (late Sarah) Townsend, Gorden (late Virginia) Townsend; four sisters; Frances (late Elmer) Honsberger, Mary (late Lawson) Kateley, Ruth (late Raymond) Schul and Joan Townsend; a stepbrother Earl (Jean) Miller and two stepsisters; Marilyn (late Frank) Richel and Audrey Goodenough.

David Barlow Swift of Burt, NY passed away on July 18, 2017 at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport, New York. He was born on April 15, 1947 in Lockport, NY, son of the late Robert and Genevieve Townsend Swift. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran serving in the Army as a Spec 4 during the Tet Offensive where he received the bronze star and the distinguished Soldiers Medal for bravery when he dove into a raging river saving the lives of Vietnamese children. After serving in the war he returned to his position at Harrison Radiator where he retired. He had a passion for antique cars and was one of the founders of the Olcott Cruise Night. He also enjoyed boating and fly-fishing on Lake Alice and operated a booth at Gordy Harper’s Bazaar specializing in classic vinyl records. He is survived by his fiancée Cindy Culverwell of Burt, NY, his daughter Amy Cummings (Lockport, NY) and son Ronald (Wende) Swift (Appleton, NY), four grand children; Brooke and Jameson Cummings of Gasport, NY and Andrew and Kevin Swift of Appleton, NY, sister Sue Ann (Douglas) Brown (Newfane, NY), step-daughter Hayley Lippman (Burt, NY) several nieces and nephews and life long friend Richard Leddy of Murfeesboro,TN. Dann Townsend, 78, of Appleton, passed away Feb. 28, 2021, after a long illness.
He was born Feb. 13, 1943, the son of the late Robert and Norma Cochran Townsend. 
After graduating from Newfane Central School, Dan enlisted in the Navy, where he served from 1961 to 1964, stationed at Patuxant, Maryland.
He retired from Delphi in 2002. He enjoyed working on old cars and participating in car shows, being a member of the Harrison Car Club and Niagara Cruisers. He enjoyed his grandchildren, and crafted little vehicles for them to ride around in on the farm. In later years, he crafted tiny lawn ornament airplanes, whose propellers twirled in the wind. He loved football and Nascar.
He is survived by his wife, Avis, a son, Jeffrey, and a daughter, Kimberly (Justin) Walker, both of California, two step children, Amy (Kevin) Pedley of Lockport and Ronald (Wende) Swift of Burt. He is also survived by his sister, Shelly Stranges of Lockport, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by a loving friend, Linette Pipiles. He was predeceased by his brother, Larry. 
There will be no visitation. Private services will be held for family and friends.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a 50 year member of South Wilson Fire Co. He was also a member of the Wilson town zoning board and the Wilson Conservations Club.

Robert D. Townsend, 81 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away at home on October 13, 2018 surrounded by his loving family while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born November 28, 1936 in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Donald and Whilimenia (Strassburg) Townsend.
Bob was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls.  He attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational High School.  Afterwards he served in the United States Army from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1958.  On August 8, 1959, he married Nina I. (Dean) Townsend.  Bob began his career for Airco Speer in 1959 which later became Carbon Graphite retiring in 1999 as a millwright.  During that time Bob was a member of their bowling, golf and baseball teams. Bob was an extensive camper and traveler, taking numerous trips throughout the United States and abroad. He also loved to watch sports on television and was a passionate New York Yankee, Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan.  In his leisure time Bob enjoyed horse racing, the casino and playing the lottery.  Above all, Bob loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished spending time with them.
In addition to his beloved wife of 59 years, he is survived by his five children, Robert J. (Colleen) Townsend, Kenneth D. (Lori Munro) Townsend, Christine (Robert) Ventry, Richard S. Townsend and Kevin M. She was born June 15, 1940, in Niagara Falls, New York, daughter of the late Wilson "Bud" and Marie E. [Warner] Townsend.

She was a 1958 graduate of Wilson High School and Trott Vocational Nursing School.
Gail was a private woman who devoted her entire life to the care of others. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse with a career spanning over two decades serving hospitals in Ransomville, Niagara Falls, and Oneida and was active in private duty and on call nursing services as well. She retired in 1985 to care for her young son.
She tirelessly served the Lord her entire life, being active in churches in western New York, Redeemer Lutheran, Oneida, NY, and its successor, Grace Lutheran, Canastota, NY, where she also taught Sunday School.
She enjoyed numerous hobbies to include reading and cooking being at her families cabin in the Adirondacks, but most importantly, cherished her time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Charles J. Flay, Sr., they were united in marriage on June 2, 1962 in Cambria, NY, three sons, Charles J. (Cris) Flay, Jr. of Ronda, NC, John C. (Kathy) Flay of Dallas, TX and Jason C. Flay of Lexington, KY. three grandsons, Charles J. "Buddy" Flay, III, Daniel C. Flay, and "Beau" Hunter Flay, two brothers, Gary (Chris) Townsend and Gerald (Cynthia) Townsend, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Her family will be present on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church, 6630 Luther Street, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Philip N. Sallach officiating.

William Orndorff Life Story

William Orndorff, 59, of Largo, FL, passed away on January 15, 2024. He was born on January 23, 1964. William was a kind hearted, loving and generous person.

William is survived by his sister, Laurie Kosut (Darryl Kosut); nephews, Frank Coseglia and Chris Coseglia; niece, Courtney Coseglia (Wesley Dillon), and their 4 children, Evelynn, Elijah, Ezekiel, and Ezra and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Orndorff; mother, Shirley Peck and step-father, Alfred Peck.

William attended Niagara Wheatfield High School. Following his education, he served in the United States Navy for 9 years. William was proud of his military associations.

After his military service, William worked at General Abrasives, as a machinist. He then moved on to pursue a career as a firefighter at the Niagara Falls Airbase, where he retired. His dedication and bravery in serving the community will always be remembered.

William loved the outdoors, especially the Adirondacks. He also loved hunting, camping and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time in Florida.

His passing comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time. He will be sadly missed.

He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping with his friends and family. He also enjoyed spending time and repairing computers, as well as listening to his scanner radios. Above all, Bobby enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Townsend.  Paul enjoyed motorcycles, hot rods, and was a die hard Raiders fan.  Besides his mother Paul is survived by his wife of 30 years Cori (Provenzano) Townsend; daughters Cherylynn and Carissa Townsend; siblings Joseph F. (Linda) Townsend, Ray Thomas, Tina Rae, and late Tony Townsend; brother-in-law Richard (Darcy) Provenzano; also survived by his dog Diesel, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many great friends.

LOCKPORT — Tony Ray Townsend passed away November 20, 2010 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Born October 16, 1971, he was the beloved son of Agnes (nee Fura) and the late Raymond P. Townsend. Besides his mother, Tony left surviving his cherished son, Hunter S. Townsend, the pride of his life and fiancee, Kari Balk and her daughter, Michaila; brother of Joseph F. (Linda), Paul Raymond (Cori), Ray Thomas and Tina Rae; also left surviving, several aunts and uncles; seven nieces and five nephews; several cousins and many friends.

Tony enjoyed owning and operating TNT Paving and Sealing and Center Street/B & M Auto businesses. He attended St. Joseph's (All Saints) his entire life and also was an altar boy and later on, an usher there. His hobbies included hunting, playing cards, caring for his animals and dog Raider, and watching the Yankees, Raiders and Bruins. Tony spent most of his time helping others, especially his family. He will be sadly missed.
