    Notes:

    Fulton Times - 7/29/1914

Bernard Brady, 19 years old, a
    papermaker at the Volney Paper
Mill, who lived with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Wainman, 714 Hanbal
    street, was drowned at North
    Bay, Lake Neahawanta about 2:30
    Sunday afternoon.
A party of young men composed
    of Brady, Saul Carpenter, Henry
Matott and Harry Ketchum went to
the lake after dinner intending to en-
    joy boating and swimming.
    Immediately upon arriving the
party entered the water and as Mr.
Brady could swim no anxiety was felt
for him until he was noticed a little
later by his companions to need help,
but before he could be reached he
sank not far from shore. The plant
formation in the water' is particurly
thick at that part of the lake,
and it prevented anyone locating the
body. Later, by the aid of a pike
pole, the body was brought to the
    surface,
It is believed the young man met
    his death through cramps. Health
officer Whitaker, who was in charge
the case, believes death was due
entering the water too soon after
    eating.
A gloom has been cast over the
    surroundings of the pretty little
leasure spot, where scores of Ful-
ton's people enjoy many hours of
    real recreation. Sympathy is extended
the parents of the young man in
the tragic ending of so young a life.
