    David A. Van Wagner, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on November 20, 2022. Born in West Bingham, PA, he was the son of the late Harry and Hazel (Connolly) Van Wagner.
    David moved to Niagara Falls with his family and graduated from LaSalle Senior High School. He married his beloved wife, Linda (Fickett) Van Wagner on April 27, 1966 in Prince of Peace Church. He was employed at Keller Technology in Tonawanda, NY, as a machine assembler for over 40 years prior to retiring in 2001.
    David was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo’s Church, where he was a member of the Catholic Brotherhood, and volunteered assisting at the concession stand during Bingo. He enjoyed woodworking, as well as golfing and bowling. Above all, he especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
    In addition to his wife, David is survived by his children, David Paul (Katy Stinnet) Van Wagner and Melanie Van Wagner; his granddaughter, Rachael Van Wagner and great-granddaughter, Charlotte; three siblings, James (Denise) Van Wagner, Linda (Keith) Torgerson and Dan Van Wagner; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters.
    Visitation will be on Monday, November 28 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. David’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Leo’s Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.     James E. VanWagner Sr., age 82, died October 1, 2023 in the Martin Linsin Hospice Residence following a long illness.

    He was born May 7, 1941 in PA to Harry and Hazel (Connelly) VanWagner and had lived in this area most of his life. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of the Lockport American Legion and the Sutherland Lodge F&AM. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and taking trips to the casino. Mr. VanWagner was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

    He is survived by his wife of 37 years Denise, his children: Shannon (Carl) Nordvik of Lewiston, Dayna Wiepert of FL, James (Becky) VanWagner Jr. of Newfane, Krista (Mark) Roberts of Lewiston, Erica (Frank ) Colucci of Kendall, Angela Mann of Kendall, his sister: Linda (Keith) Torgenson of ND, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and his beloved dog “Bella”.

    There will be no calling hours. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date. Private interment will held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hospice of Orleans, 14080 Rt. 31 West, Albion, NY, 14411.

    LOCKPORT — Mary C. (nee Van Wagner) Cowling, 73, of Niagara Falls, NY, wife of the late Cecil R. Cowling, Jr., entered into rest on Saturday, September 11, 2010, in Niagara Hospice House, in Lockport, NY. Born on June 24, 1937, in Gold, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Connolly) Van Wagner.

    Mrs. Cowling attended local schools and graduated from LaSalle High School in 1955. For many years, Mary worked as a production worker for Carborundum, until her retirement in the early 1990’s. She enjoyed garage and estate sales, jig-saw puzzles, sewing and reading.

    Mrs. Cowling is survived by one daughter, Debra L. Cowling of Niagara Falls, NY; two granddaughters, Teri E. Cowling and Tonya E. Cowling, both of Sanborn, NY; two brothers, David (Linda) Van Wagner of the Town of Niagara, NY and James (Denise) Van Wagner of Medina, NY; two sisters, Linda (Keith) Torgerson of North Dakota and Anne Mere of Niagara Falls, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by two children, Terri Lee Cowling and Cecil R. Cowling III.

    There will be no prior visitation. Private burial will be held in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094. Arrangements were entrusted to the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007).
