CITY OF TONAWANDA — Jessie A. (nee Ross) Garrity, age 84, of the City of Tonawanda, Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Beechwood Continuing Care. A lifelong resident of the Tonawandas, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Lutetia Ross and was the sister of the late Florence, John, Iona, Samuel, Catherine, Dorothy, William, Anna and Janet. A 1946 graduate of North Tonawanda High School, she had been employed at both Remington Rand Corp and Riley Gear in North Tonawanda. Jessie was a longtime member of Tonawanda United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed Square and Round dancing and was active in bowling and golfing.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas E. Garrity; her daughter, Letetia (Mark) Dahlquist of Grand Island; three grandchildren, Thomas (Grace) Dahlquist, James Dahlquist and Nancy Dahlquist; and two sisters, Nancy Thorpe of Lockport and Marian (Leo) Ziegler of the Town of Tonawanda. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), in Tonawanda, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday by the Rev. Dorothea Schweitzer. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery.
