    OCALA, FL — Dorothy Seefeldt, 84, was called to her heavenly home on September 22, 2010 in Ocala, FL. She was born Dorothy Ruth Oliphant, August 2, 1926, in Niagara Falls, NY. Dorothy lived most of her life in the Ransomville area. She retired after 20 years as a Billing Clerk for The Town of Porter in July 1988. She was a member of the Ransomville Garden Club for many years and served as the first and only woman Fire Commissioner in New York State. She retired to Florida in her later years and, most recently, lived in Dunnellon, FL. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post #4781 in Ocala, FL. Dorothy enjoyed her many years vacationing at their cottage in Canada with friends and family. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, but most of all her time spent with her many friends and loving family.

    Mrs. Seefeldt is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Bernard S. of Ocala, FL; sons, David B. (Lynne) Seefeldt of Ocala, FL, Bruce Seefeldt of Niagara Falls, NY, Thomas H. (Sandra) Seefeldt of Sanborn, NY, Peter R. Seefeldt (Lettie) of Ransomville, NY, and daughter, Jane (Tom) Stevens of Ashville, OH, along with 16 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Helen (Harold) Denny, Marjore (S. John) Eodice; two brothers, Charles (Betsy) Oliphant, James (Barbara) Oliphant. She was predeceased by sister, Betty (Malcom) Goodman and her parents, Ennis and Margret Oliphant. Dorothy is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many special close friends.

    A Memorial Service to be held Sunday, September 26th at Hiers-Baxley TimberRidge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St., Ocala, FL. Dorothy will be placed in the Columbarium at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Ransomville Volunteer Fire Company, Ransomville Fire Co. No. 1, 2521 Youngstown-Lockport Rd., Ransomville, NY 14131.

    Charles "Chuck" Oliphant, age 86, of Ransomville died on Thursday, August 7, 2014 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston after a lengthy illness. Chuck was born on July 22, 1928 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Ennis and Margaret (Heywang) Oliphant.
    He was Trouble Lineman employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. for 35 years, retiring in 1989. Chuck married Elizabeth "Betsy" A. Ross on July 28, 1951. Betsy predeceased him on October 14, 2012. He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston. Chuck also volunteered with the Niagara County Meals on Wheels Program for over 20 years. He enjoyed being with his family and gaming at casinos.
    He is survived by his four sons, Mark (Kathleen), Rick, Robert (Shelly Martin) and Bruce (Stephanie) Oliphant; his grandchildren, Arron, Sara, Eric (Nicole), Bryan (Hailey), Jennifer, Thomas, Charlie, Raymond, Sydney, and Austen; his great grandchildren, Ronin and Ellori; a brother, James (Barbara) Oliphant; two sisters, Marjorie Eodice, Helen (Harold) Denny; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Benjamin Oliphant; a daughter-in-law, Helga Oliphant; and two sisters, Betty Jane Goodman and Dorothy Seefeldt.
    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Saturday, August 16th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.     Marjorie M. Eodice, age 96, of Youngstown and wife of the late Sandillo John “Bondy” Eodice entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Marjorie was born December 29, 1923 in Niagara Falls, NY. She is the daughter of the late Ennis and the late Margaret (Heywang) Oliphant. She married Sandillo John " Bondy " Eodice on December 9, 1943, he predeceased her on April 30, 2002. She was employed by Barnum’s Pharmacy in Youngstown as a Clerk and also at Bell Aircraft as a clerk. She loved to Crochet, enjoyed Fishing and Camping.She is survived by a son; John (Priscilla) R.     James E. Oliphant, of Lockport, NY died Saturday July 28, 2018 at Niagara Hospice House after a lengthy illness. Born in Niagara Falls on December 05, 1943 to the late Ennis and Margaret (Heywang) Oliphant. He graduated from Lewiston- Porter High School in 1961 and entered the U.S Army on May 1965 until his honorable discharge May 1967. Jim was the owner and operator of the Wilson Boat House for 26 Years, retiring in 1999.
    He was totally dedicated and involved with his family. He was a member of the Wilson Lion’s Club; the “Investment Club”, St. John the Baptist RC Church, Lockport, and former Eucharistic Minister at St. Brendan on the Lake RC Church in Wilson. Jim was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan, a member of the American Legion, and enjoyed his hunting trips and casino trips.
    On January 27, 1968, Jim married Barbara (McAvoy) Oliphant. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Nadine (Paul) Kurial; Scott Oliphant; Lisa Rogers and Kevin (Crystal) Oliphant, 8 grandchildren; Kelsey; Noah; Morgan; Michael; Katelyn;  Kaylee; Payton; and Taylor; 1 great grandson, Easton; 2 sisters, Marjorie Eodice and Helen Denny and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Charles “Chuck” Oliphant and sisters Dorothy Seefeldt and Betty Jane Goodman.

    Newfane - Betty Jane Goodman, age 85, longtime resident of the Town of Newfane, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010 at her residence under the loving care of her family and Niagara Hospice. Betty Jane was born January 1, 1925 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Ennis and Margaret (Heywang) Oliphant and was a 1942 graduate of Wilson High School. During WW II, Betty Jane was employed at Bell Aircraft as a "Rosie the Riveter". She married Malcolm "Bose" Goodman on October 19, 1946 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge in the Town of Cambria. Betty Jane was the owner/manager of Betty Jane Cabins and co-owned with her husband, Goodman's Garage, both located at Goodman's Corners in Newfane. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge and enjoyed knitting, crafts, quilting, and canning.     NEWFANE - Gerald E. "Ed" Goodman died, suddenly, at his home on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the age of 59.

    Ed was born July 24, 1954 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Malcolm E. and Betty Jane (Oliphant) Goodman. He was a 1972 graduate of Newfane High School and had attended Niagara County Community College. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in October of 1972, and served until his honorable discharge in July of 1975. Along with his brother, Stephen, Ed owned and operated Betty Jane Cabins in Newfane. He had also worked at Lebrag-Garbel Welding in Lockport.

    Ed was a life member of the Niagara County Motorcycle Club, a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Newfane, and the Antique Motorcycle Club of America. He was appreciated for his knowledge and lifelong passion for old machinery, particularly his antique motorcycles. Ed was a lover of music, and especially enjoyed playing his guitar. He also was an avid reader.

    He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rebecca A. (Hoffner) Goodman; his children, Jenifer A. Edgar of Newfane, Ellen M. (Leo) Walker of Asheville, NC, Natalie J. (Josh) Verheyn of Indiana, and Gloria (Bart) Langendorfer of Ransomville; his grandchildren, Nyx Verheyn, Duane Langendorfer and Julius Walker; two brothers, Stephen (Susan) Goodman of Newfane and Douglas Goodman of Port Townsend, WA; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Friday from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 21, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. David Duke officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria.     RANSOMVILLE — Ransomville - Benjamin J. Oliphant, age 20 of Ransomville, died unexpectedly on Saturday, October 16, 2010 in Niagara Falls, NY. Ben was born December 31, 1989 in Lewiston, NY, the son of Robert Oliphant of Ransomville and Maribeth (Drendall) Oliphant of Sanborn. He graduated in 2008 from Niagara Academy in Sanborn. Ben had been employed for a time by Smokin' Joe's. He loved music and his life's ambition was to become a professional DJ.

    He is survived by his father, Robert Oliphant (Kathleen Robinson) of Ransomville; his mother, Maribeth (Drendall) Oliphant (Doug Lorenze) of Sanborn; two brothers, Thomas and Charles Oliphant, both of Sanborn; his step-sisters, Kyle Robinson and Rochelle Frerichs; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Betsy Oliphant of Ransomville; and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

    Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston, on Friday, October 22nd from 2 - 4 and 7 - 8:30 PM. A Memorial Service will begin at 8:30 PM in funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Academy, 3181 Saunders Settlement Rd., Sanborn, NY 14132.
