    Wayne M. Herman, age 82 of the Town of Lockport, NY, formerly of Wheatfield, was called to his heavenly home on September 3, 2023 at Buffalo Mercy Hospital. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on July 30, 1941; son of the late Martin and Esther (Werth) Herman. After graduation from high school, Wayne served in the United States Army. A lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, in Wheatfield, he was employed for 51 years at Midland Asphalt, in Tonawanda. Wayne was also a member of St. Johnsburg Fire Company, for 67 years. His hobbies and inerests included gardening, vacationing, tractors, was a Buffalo Bills fan, the companionship with his dogs, but most of all, the quality time spent with his family.Survivors include his loving wife, Lynda J. (Sanders) Herman, whom he married March 18, 2006; four children, Sherri (John) Ober, Tricia (Geoff) Breeze, Timothy (Tammy) Herman, and Theresa (Justin) Cushman; a sister, Sharon Muir; brother, Wesley (Barbara) Herman; Grandchildren, Tyler, Daniel, Brianna, Dylan, Caleb, Ashton, Sabrina, Ryan, Trevor, Mia, Amelia, Oakley, Rodney, Joshua, and Latricia; and several great-grandchildren.Wayne was predeceased by a son, Rodney Herman; and brother, Sherwood Herman.Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Wheatfield), Niagara Falls, NY 14304, on Wednesday (September 6) from 2-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael Borgstede, on Thursday (September 7) at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, corner of Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road, in Wheatfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, or St. Johnsburg Fire Company.

Life member of Western New York Water Works Association, past president of the former Niagara County Water Works Association, was employed 46 years for the Wheatfield Water Division, eight years as the superintendent, and a Plumbing Board member. Active life long member of St. John Lutheran Church, Wheatfield, serving six years as a trustee and ushered weekly. He was well known for his strawberries. Surviving is his wife, mother, children: Darlene Herman, Jeffrey (Karen) Herman and Debra Herman; grandchildren: David, Diana, Jennifer, James and Emily; sister, Sharon (Lee) Muir; and brothers, Wayne (Lynda) Herman and Wesley (Barbara) Herman. Services will be on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road. Memorials may be made to the church, or American Heart Association. Arrangement were with the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME.
