    NORTH TONAWANDA — Genowefa Jennie (nee Wilk) Moderacki, 87, passed away January 16, 2011 at the Clairebridge Senior Living. She was born February 19, 1923 to the late Frank and Julia Wilk; married the late Henry E. Moderacki; and was predeceased by her siblings, Josephine (Edward) Darlak, Tessie (Stanley) Witkowski, Ben Wilk and Helen Wilk. Jennie loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

    She is survived by her daughter, Janice LaManna; son, Henry M. Moderacki; brother, Edwin and the (late Mary) Wilk; grandsons, Michael (Julie) LaManna, Russell (Jennifer) LaManna; granddaughter, Gina (Dan) Baughman; great-grandchildren, Ian, Nathan, Lauren LaManna, Kylie, Kamryn Baughman; sister-in-law, Joan and the (late Benj) Rakowski; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

    The family will be present to receive family and friends Wednesday, January 19, 2011 from 4-8 PM at the Colucci Funeral Home, 652 Oliver St. at Fifth Ave., North Tonawanda. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 20th at Colucci Funeral Home at 8:40 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, 626 Oliver Street at 9:30 AM. A graveside service will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Tonawanda. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in JennieÕs memory to the Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, New York 14094-1231

    NORTH TONAWANDA-Ben-
    jamin F. Wilk, 38, of 1414 Weav-
    er Pkwy., was electrocuted in an
    industrial accident an pronounced
    dead on arrival at DeGraff Memo-
    rial Hospital Wednesday (Oct. 22,
    1958).
    Coroner John C. Kinzly, who is
    investigating the death, said he will
    rule on the cause on Friday. Wilk
    was employed as a setup man at
    the R.T.Jones Lumber Co., Mich-
    igan Ave. It was reported he came
    in contact with a 440-volt wire
    leading to one of the machines.
    A lifelong resident of this city,
    Mr. Wilk was a graduate of North
    Tonawanda High School and was
    active in baseball and softball. He
    served as a sergeant in the Army
    during World War II and was a
    member of Our Lady of Czesto-
    chowa and its Holy Name society.
    Surviving are his wife, Dorothy
    Borowiec Wilk; his mother, Mrs.
    Julia Wilk; brother, Edwin Wilk;
    four sisters, Mrs. Edward Darlak,
    Mrs. Stanley Witkowski, Miss
    Helen Wilk and Mrs. Henry Mod-
    eracki, all of this city.
    Prayers will be said at 10:30
    a.m. Saturday at Niagara Memorial
    Chapel, followed by Requiem
    Mass at 11 o'clock at our Lady
    of Czestochowa Church. Burial will
    be in Ml. Olivet .Cemetery. Military
    rites will be conducted at the
    cemetery by Battery A, 62nd Artillery,
    Amherst.

    Robert E. Darlak, age 65, of Wheatfield, entered into rest peacefully June 13, 2009, with his family at his side, after a brief illness. Born February 13, 1944, son of the late Edward and Josephine Darlak. A U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War and based in Camron Bay, he was employed at Unipunch Products, Buffalo, over 30 years and S and R Instruments for 10 years. Robert loved hunting and fishing at Honeye Lake, loved the Buffalo Sabres, Buffalo Bills, NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren and family.Survived by his wife of 40 years, Martha L. (Grawe) Darlak; father of Claudette (Andre) Lemieux, Jeanette (Joel) Prohaska and Glen (Jody) Darlak. Papa of Dalton, Hunter and Lynnea Lemieux, Cole and Cloe Darlak; sister, Lorraine Richau and grand-dog, Ursula Prohaska. Predeceased by a sister, JoAnn Sikora. Claudette earned her Masters Degree in teaching, and was employed as a Kindergarten teacher, in the Starpoint Central School District. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda, her number "1" hobby was watching her kids play their many sports games and tournaments, enjoyed coaching softball, and the quality time spent with family while traveling, shopping and camping.
    Survivors include her loving husband, Marlin Andre Lemieux. They were married April 3, 1993; three children, Dalton (Christina) Lemieux, Hunter Lemieux and Lynnea Lemieux; Her mother "Marty"; a sister, Geanette (Joel) Prohaska; brother, Glen (Jody) Darlak; and many dear friends.
    She was predeceased by her father, Robert Darlak.
    Claudette was sometimes called Mama Claud by her many extra kids (friends of her children, players on teams, etc.) and Mayor, because you never went anywhere without running into someone who knew her.
    Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Friday (August 14) from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Earnest Green III, on Saturday (August 15) at 5:00 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 453 Old Falls Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY 14120. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a cancer or breast cancer foundation of your choice.
