the Inter - Community Memorial
Hospital, Newfane. Father of Clifford
W. Beers of Rochester,
grandfather of Mrs. Willis Brietsman
of East Aurora, Mr. Thomas
W. Beers of Detroit; brother
of Mrs. Bert S. Pettit of Newfane,
Royce L. Beers of Detroit and
William H. Beers of Southern
Pines, N. C; also survived by
one stepson. Van C. Miles of
Newfane; six great - grandchildren,
two step - grandchildren
and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at their convenience
at the Glenn H. Corwin
Funeral Home, Inc., 2670 Main
St., Newfane, where the family
will be present beginning this evening
from 7 to 9 and Thursday
from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9. Funeral
services will be held Friday, Aug.
W, 1962, at 2:30 p.m. Interment
will be in Wright's Corners Cemetery.

Peers, Ridge Road, Ridgewood,
died today (Aug. 8; 1962)
at Inter Community Memorial
Hospital on his 86th birthday.
He had been a patient there
for the last two weeks.
Bom here Aug 8. 1882. he
was a son of the late William
H and Edna Mason Beers. He
was a veteran automobile
dealer beginning in 1910 with
the Chevrolet Co. He was
later In the same business in
Lockport and Albion. At one
time he was a salesman
the Friends Manufacturing
t o . Gasport.
Mr. Beers had lived at
Rldgewood since 1922 and for
the last 12 years he spent his
winters in Daytona Reach.

His first wife, Sesa Berean
died Sept. 20, 1938. They had
been married 59 years
He is survived by his wife,
Lillian M Beers, a son Clifford
W Beers. Rorhevter. a
lister. Mrs Bert S. Pettit, two
brothers. Rovce Beers;. Detroit,
and William H Beers,
Southern Pines, N.C. Two
grandchildren. six greatgrandchildren,
a stepson, Van
Miles, Newfane, end two stepgrandchildren,

LOCKPORT-A farm machinery
salesman, Herbert Beers, 37. was
burned to death early today by a
fire of undetermined origin which
destroyed his home in the Ridge
road, one-half miles east of Ridgewood.
N. Y., with a loss estimated
by firemen at $5,000.
The fire was well advanced when
a passing motorist discovered at
about 1 o'clock this morning and
aroused Mr. Beers' father, Charles
W. Beers, who resides next door.
It was then impossible to enter the
burning building.
Wrights' Corners and Newfane
village firemen found the charred
body several hours later after hundreds
of gallons of water, carried
by tank trucks, had been poured
into the smouldering ruins.
Mr. Beers, who was employed by
his father In the farm machinery
business at Ridgewood, Is believed
to have retired. Firemen believe
that he awakened and made an
unsuccessful effort to get out of the
burning half-story wooden structure
as his body was not found in
the part of the ruins where his
bedroom was located.
His wife. Mrs. Mary Hannigan
Beers, who had been out for the
evening, returned while firemen
were fighting the blaze and was
prostrated' with grief. Besides his
wife and parents. Mr. Beers leaves
one brother. Clifford W. Beers, of
Rochester. N. Y., who was formerly
in the automobile business here. At
one time Herbert Beers was employed
bv his brother in the automobile
field.
The destroyed home was owned
by Charles W. Beers, and was believed
to be about 100 years old. It
had been recently remodelled.
Wright's Corners firemen, under
Chief Ray Dlrling, were first on the
scene and were followed by the
Miller Hose company. Newfane. N.
Y.. under Chief Edwin Rowland.
The fire was beyond control when
they arrived and hose lines were
concentrated on the sleeping quarters.
Chief Dlrling estimated that 6,000
gallons of water were used. Dr.
Mabel Carrner. coroner, of Newfane,
and State police at Lewlston, N. Y ,
were notified.

LEWISTON - Elizabeth
Breitsman, 24, died of multiple
internal injuries last Thursday
in Mount St. Mary's Hospital
after an automobile accident.
She is survived by her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis
Breitsman Jr. of Lewiston; two
sisters, Melissa of Lewiston
and Mrs. Donna Farlow of
Cazenovia; two brothers, John
of State College, Pa. Charles of
Ligoner, Pa.; her grand-
mother Mrs. Willis J. Breits-
man of Medina; an uncle
Rbert Breitsman of Medina;
and an aunt, Lois Franklin of
Medina.
Funeral services were held at
White Haven Cemetery in
Pittsford on Saturday.

Melissa Ann Dowd, of Youngstown, NY, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, in Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
She was born on November 6, 1960 in Ellwood City, PA, the daughter of the late Willis J. and Joanne (Beers) Breitsman.
Missy earned a bachelor's degree at the University of Buffalo in Psychology with an emphasis in holocaust studies.
She was a devoted volunteer at the Summit Life Outreach Center in Niagara Falls where she touched the lives of young mothers, providing them with immense support and guidance.
Missy had a passion for travel, fitness, gardening, nature, and horses. She maintained acres of rose, hydrangea and peony gardens at her horse farm in Youngstown, where she practiced the equestrian art of dressage with her beloved horse, Solo.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Michael J. Dowd; her children, Charles(Jessica), Wilson, Marny (Rene) and John "Sam" (Maggy) Dowd; and was the sister of Donna (Rickey) Farlow, John W. (Kristy Schubel) Breitsman, and Charles W. (Randy Leslie) Breitsman; her mother-in-law, Patricia (late John) Dowd; also 20 nieces and nephews and three grand-nieces.
Missy was the sister of the late Elizabeth Sue and Ann Elizabeth Breitsman.
Her family will be present on Friday from 11 AM -3 PM and 5-7 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, Lewiston, NY. Due to current regulations, building capacity and social distancing will be monitored, facial coverings are also required. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the wishes of her family.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to the Summit Outreach Center, 1622 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301 or to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.
