    Thomas Allis, 76 years old, a resi-
    d e n t o f Niagara Falls for 50 years
    and a veteran of the Civil war Is
    dead at his home, No. 1132 South
    avenue. Mr. Alliss was born in To-
    ronto. Ont., and came to this country
    with his parents when he was'only
    five years old, When the Civil war
    broke out he enlisted for service
    with the Union army and participa-
    ted In many of the important engage-
    ments of the war.
    Mr. Allls was employed for 25
    years by the International Railway
    and after leaving that company
    worked for the Erie railroad com-
    pany. For over ten years he was sta-
    tioned at the Cleveland avenue'
    crossing of the Erie as flagman but
    was compelled to give up the position
    about a year ago because of ill
    health. He leaves four daughters
    Mrs John Conneliv, Mrs. Albert
    Hasley Mrs Maude Cook and Miss
    Sadie Alliss all of this city and three
    sons Thomas and William 'of this
    city and Charles of St. Paul. Minn.
    Funeral services for Mr. Alliss will
    be held Monday afternoon at 2:30
    o'clock at his home. The Rev. Da-
    vld Henry Weeks of the Lplphany
    Episcopal church will officiate. Bur-
    will be In Rlverdale cemetery

    Mrs. Ella E. Henning, wife of E. H.
    Henning, division superintendent of
    the International Railway, died this
    morning at Memorial Hospital at
    about 5 o'clock. Mrs. Henning had
    been ailing for several years but her
    condition became so alarming the latter
    part of last week that it necessitated
    her removal from her home at
    No. 729 Spruce avenue to Memorial
    Hospital.
    Besides her husband. She is survived
    by her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
    Thomas Alliss of South avenue; four
    sisters, Mrs. J. Connelly, Mrs. A.
    Haseley, Mrs. H. Cook and Miss Sadie
    Aliiss and three brothers, William and
    Thomas of this city and Charles of
    St. Paul, Minn. Funeral arrangements
    have not as yet been completed

    The apparent victim of a heart
    attack, William H. Alliss, of 1644
    Cleveland avenue, was found dead in
    his room at that address late Saturday
    afternoon.- A neighbor. Henry
    Yngve, who had noticed a light
    burning in the Alliss room for two
    days, notified owners of the rooming
    house, who in turn called Police
    Lieutenants Piore Costanzo . and
    Norman Wagner. Coroner James
    Wm. Heary declared that Alliss had
    probably died Thursday night.
    Born in this city, Mr. Alliss was
    an employe .of the Auto Lite Battery

    corporation for 25 years.
    Surviving are a brother. Thomas
    and two sisters. Miss Sadie E. Alliss
    and Mrs. Grace Haseley. all of this
    city; another brother, Charles C. of
    S t Paul, Minn., and another sister,
    Mrs. George Schreiner, of Buffalo
    Funeral services will be held this
    afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the
    Rhoney funeral home, with the Rev.
    William Saye officiating. Interment
    will be in Rlverdale cemetery.

    North Ave., died Friday (Oct.
    7. 1966) at Mount St. Mary's
    Hospital after a lengthy illness.
    He was a native of Niagara
    Fallfl and had lived at the North
    Avenue address for more than
    50 years until being taken ill.
    He was a civil engineer for
    the city from 1920 until he retired
    in 1953.
    He was, the husband of Mary
    Alliss, who died in 1942.
    He was the father of William
    E. Alliss, who died in April
    1966.
    Surviving are three sisters
    Miss Sarah Alliss, Mrs. George
    (Maude) Schreiner and Mrs.
    Alexander (Grace) Haseley, all
    of this city.
    Funeral services will be held
    at the Rhoney Funeral Home
    Monday at 11:30 a.m., with the
    Rev. John E. Wickenden, Epiphany
    Episcopal Church, officiating.
    Friends may call at the
    funeral home from 2 to 5 and
    7 to 9 p,m. beginning today.
    Burial will be in Gate of
    Heaven Cemetery.

    Miss Sadie Alliss, 86, of 1945
    Lockport St. died in DeVeaux
    Manor Monday (March 29,
    1971) after a lengthy illness.
    She was a native of Niagara
    Falls and the daughter of the
    late Thomas and Elizabeth
    Smith Alliss, pioneer residents
    of Suspension Bridge.
    One of nine children, she was
    born within a block of her late
    residence, where she h ad
    resided for over 45 years. Miss
    Aliss was a stenographer with
    the Spiro Co. for many years
    until that company closed about
    1940.
    She was a lifelong member
    of Epiphany Episcopal Church.
    Surviving are two sisters with
    whom she resided, Mrs. Alexander
    (Grace) Haseley and Mrs-
    George (Maude) Schreiner.
    Funeral services will be held
    at the Rhoney Funeral Home
    Thursday at 11 a.m., with the
    Rev. John E. Widckenden of
    Epiphany Episcopal Church officiating.
    Burial will be in
    Riverdale Cemetery.
    The family will be present
    at the funeral home tonight
    from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday
    from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

    Grace Haseley.
    Mrs. Grace (Alliss) Haseley, 92, of 1945 Lockport St., died Friday (Sept. 14, 1979) in Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. She was a native of Niagara Falls and the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Smith) Alliss. She was the last member of nine children of the Alliss family, dying three months after her sister, Maude Schreiner. She was the wife of the late Alex Haseley. She is survIved by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Rhoney Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas R. Behm officiating. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. If preferred, contributions to St. Paul Calvary Lutheran Church will be acceptable as tributes, the family said.

    Grace married HASELEY, Alexander Friedrich Andreas on 9 Nov 1909 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY. Alexander (son of HASELEY, Lebrecht August and LANGE, Ernestine Louise) was born on 30 Aug 1887 in Town of Wheatfield, Niagara County, NY; died on 14 Jun 1929 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY.
