Mr. Ferchen was a lifelong member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, a charter member of the First Volunteer Fire Company of Bergholz and a member of the Farmers Cooperative Extension of Lockport. He is survived by a sister, Miss Regina Ferchen; two aunts. Mrs. Johanna Hensel and Mrs. Anna Neubauer, both of Michigan, and many cousins. The family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hamp Funeral Home Inc. Adam-Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church Bergholz. Pastor Robert Lehman will officiate. Interment in St James Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial Fund or to the Lutheran Vespers are preferred by the family. Friends received by the family from 7 to 9 TONIGHT at the funeral home by members of the Bergholz Fire Company.

    NORTH TONAWANDA - Cornelius W. Ferchen, 78, of 3316 Evergreen Drive died Friday (May 19, 1972) at DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in the Town of Wheatfield, he was a lifelong resident of North Tonawanda. He was a member of St. James Evangelican Lutheran Church, a charter member of the First
    Volunteer Fire Co. of Bergholz and a member of the Farmer Cooperative Extension of Lockport. He is survived by a sister, Regina Ferchen; two aunts, Mrs. Johanna Hensel and Mrs. Anna Neubauer, both of Michigan, and many cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Robert Lehman will officiate. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery. The family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Hamp Funeral Home Inc., Tonawanda. Members of the Bergholz Volunteer Fire Co. have requested a meeting at the Town Fire Hall at 7 p.m today. The group will proceed to the funeral home to pay due respects to Mr. Ferchen, who was a charter member of the fire company.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY at the Hamp Funeral Home Inc., Adam and Seymour Sts. Tonawanda Funeral services will be held at a time and place to be announced.

    North Tonawanda - Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church for Regina Ferchen, 77, of 3316 Evergreen Drive, who died Sunday (Aug. 26,1973) in a three-car collision in Darien Center. Miss Ferchen was a passenger in a car driven by Harold A. Proefrock of 7168 Nash Rd., North Tonawanda, which was struck by an oncoming car driven by a Baltimore, Md. women who had swerved across the center of the road. Miss Ferchen was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. She was the sister of· the late Cornelius Ferchen and is survived by many cousins. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday at the Hamp Funeral Home .Inc.

    Collision kills 2 Niagarans
    DARIEN CENTER - Two Niagara County residents and a Pittsford man died, in a three-car collision Sunday near this Genesee County community. Seven others were injured. State Police said Mrs. Beata MilleviIle, 76, of 2035 Cayuga Drive Extension, Niagara Falls, and Mrs. Regina Ferchen, 76, of 3316 Evergreen Drive, North Tonawanda, were dead on arrival at St. Jerome Hospital in nearby Batavia. They were passengers in a car driven by Harold A. Proefrock, 52, of 7168 Nash Road, North Tonawanda, who was listed in satisfactory condition today at St. Jerome. His wife, Winifred Proefrock, 49, was in satisfactory condition in the hospital's intensive care unit. Mrs. Proefrock, who had been in critical condition Sunday, is Mrs. Milleville's daughter, a hospital spokesman said. Police said Frederick Treesh, 38, of Pittsford, near Rochester, the driver of the second car, was killed instantly. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred about 11:30 a.m. Sunday. His son Frederick Treesh, 9, was in satisfactory condition in the hospital's intensive care unit. He, too, was removed from the critical list this morning. James Karl, 34, and his son, Stephen, 9, both of Henrietta, were listed in guarded condition at Strung Memorial Hospital in Rochester. They were passengers in the Treesh auto, state troopers said. Arletta Nusinov, 23, of Baltimore, Md., the driver of the third car, was in satisfactory condition at St. Jerome. A passenger in her auto Kevin Sachs, 32, of Severna Park, Md., was treated and released, troopers said. Investigators said the accident happened when the car driven by Miss Nusinov, which was westbound on Route 20, crossed the center line and struck the eastbound Proefrock auto nearly headon. Proefrock's car then skidded out of control and struck the westbound Treesh auto. Troopers said everyone except the Treeshs and the Karls was wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
