    Funeral of Beloved Pioneer Resident Will Be Held Friday
    Mrs. Rose Hannel, one of the pioneer residents of the north end of the city, passed away this morning. She was born, March 11, 1852, at Rodelstadt, Germany, and attained the age of 71 years. Coming to Niagara Falls at an early age, she was married to Alexander J. Hannel of Alsace Lorraine, France, who died early in life, at the age of 40 in the year 1856. There were nine children, seven of whom are at present residents of Niagara Falls: Mrs. Jacob Kelberer, Mrs. Chester Collard, Mrs.. David Leighton, George Hannel, Charles Hannel, Mrs. Albert Slack. Mrs. Robert Golinski. Miss Emma Hannel is the wife of the Rev. Dr. John O. Sparmon, pastor of the first M. E. church, Arlington, N. J., who will participate In the funeral services. Albert Hannel lives at Melbourne, Florida. Besides 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. J. Seller and Mrs. D. Lippert survive her. Always warm hearted, generous, cordial and friendly, Mrs. Hannel had, a host of friends. With a character above reproach she graced the community. She had all the qualities which dignify and endear motherhood and thus she established a home which exemplified the highest ideals. She was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Her religious devotion was characterized by that sincerity which everyone respects and her religious life was a continual inspiration; Blessed with large gifts of the heart in particular, she became a blessing. The funeral services will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the residence of Charles Hannel, 370 Spruce avenue.

    William Alexander Kelberer, 87, of Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born on February 19, 1921 in Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, he was the son of the late Alexander F. and Ruth (Plumbsteel) Kelberer. On May 29, 1941, he married the former Evelyn M. Sawyer in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY.Mr. Kelberer was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY, attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. William served in the United States Navy, during World War II, from February 19, 1944 until his honorable discharge on January 28, 1946. From 1940 to 1958 he worked for EI DuPont and later for George’s Appliance, Niagara Welders and aided in the construction of the New York State Power Authority, and then for 24 years he worked for General Motors in Tonawanda, Erie County, NY, where he retired from. Mr. Kelberer was a member of the UAW Local #774, the 40 and 8 Society and the American Legion LaSalle Post #1142, where he served as Post Commander. William enjoyed electrical and mechanic work and watching football.In addition to his beloved wife of 67 years, Mr. Kelberer is survived by three sons, Larry W. (Terry) Kelberer of Colorado Springs, CO, Gary A. (Bonnie) Kelberer of Cheltenham, MD and Alexander G. (Cindy) Kelberer of Cape Coral, FL; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. William is also survived by one sister, Gail M. Mason of Niagara Falls, Niagara County, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by one son, William D.     NIAGARA FALLS —
    Richard G. Kelberer, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Niagara Falls, NY, following a lengthy illness. Born on November 1, 1926 in St. Louis, MO, he was the son of the late Clarence and Isabel (Briggs) Kelberer.
    Mr. Kelberer came to Niagara Falls, NY as a child with his family and attended local schools. For over thirty-years, Richard was employed by the Red Coach Inn in Niagara Falls, NY. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mr. Kelberer enjoyed traveling and classic movies. Richard took great pride in his home town of Niagara Falls.
    Mr. Kelberer is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a close friend, Henry Murray of Niagara Falls, NY. Richard was predeceased by one brother, Robert Kelberer; and special cousins, William Kelberer, Mildred "Millie" Neville and Helen Mayne.
    There will be no prior visitation. Private graveside services will be held in Riverdale Cemetery in Lewiston, NY. Arrangements have been entrusted to the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007).

Community College, a former teacher at Starpoint and Niagara Wheatfield CSDs, a pilot with Niagara Helicopters Ltd. He was a “jack of all trades “ in accomplishing domestic repairs and renovations, he enjoyed tinkering with many projects as he was able to repair anything with his vast vocational experiences. Kenny was an avid fisherman, golfer and bowler but most of all, loved being around his family.
    Kenny is survived by his beloved wife, JoJo DePadre-Wendt, children Ann Marie (Dennis) Wheeler, and Justin B.W. DePadre, devoted Poppy of Brett Brosnan and Drew Brosnan .  He was predeceased by his brother Robert Wendt.  He was the cherished uncle of Keni-Lyn Wendt, in addition to many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
    Visitation will be held Friday April 5, 2019 from 5-7 PM at The M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 Military Rd. Niagara Falls, NY.  Where a prayer service will follow at 7PM. Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
