Tonawanda, Wednesday
(Sept. 3, 1980) at DeGraff
Memorial Hospital after
a lengthy illness. Mr.
Mavis was a member of
Gratwick Hose Co., a
charter member of the
Adams Fire Co., a
member of the
Firemen's Benevolent
Assoc, and a member of
St. Mark Lutheran
Church.
He is survived by his
wife, Louise (Pat) (nee
Gee) Mavis; a daughter,
Mrs. Stanley (Phyllis)
Brzezinski of the Town of
Wheatfield, a son, Reuel
(Renee) Mavis of
Clarence, N.Y.; seven
grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren;
three sisters, Mrs
Lillian Strong of North
Tonawanda, Mrs. Albert
(Winifred) Sattelberg
and Mrs. Geraldine
Graf, both of the Town of
Wheatfield, several
nieces and nephews.
The family will receive
friends at the Fretthold
Funeral Home, Inc., 1241
Oliver St., at Ward Rd.,
North Tonawanda
Thursday and Friday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Services will be held at
the funeral home
Saturday at 11 a.m., the
Rev. Thomas K. Spahn
will officiate. Interment
Elmlawn Cemetery. If so
desired, memorials may
be made to St. Mark
Lutheran Church.
