Emma Handrich Kratz, 87 died suddenly Tuesday (Oct 23, 1962) at her home, Fisk Road, Wolcottsville. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville. Her husband, Louis Kratz, died in 1952. Surviving are a son, Elmer Kratz of Wolcottsville; three daughters, Mrs. George Altman and Mrs. Roy Raduns, both of Middleport and Mrs. Herman Buth of Wolcottsville; a sister Mrs. Rose Fritsch and brother, Henry Hanrich, both of Wolcottsville; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Obituary of Ruth (Frisch) (Clark) Harold

Medina/Middleport:  Ruth F. Harold, 103, passed away at Medina Memorial Hospital North Wing April 25, 2021.  She was born February 13, 1918 in Wolcottsville a daughter of the late Rudolph and Rose (Handrich) Frisch.  Ruth had lived all of her life in the Middleport, Medina, Wolcottsville areas.  She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Wolcottsville and loved knitting, shopping and spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Robert Clark and Walter Harold; sisters, Edna Cummings, Gertrude Fissler, Alma Smith, Lydia Eick, Thelma Dunn, Minnie Noviak and Nora Frisch.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Sargent of SC., Kent (Linda) Clark of Alabama and Karen (Ronald) Matusak of Middleport; 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St. Middleport on Friday April 30, from 3:00-5:00 followed by her funeral service at 5:00pm.  A private graveside service will be held at Royalton Mt. Ridge Cemetery.
Ruth’s family would like to thank everyone at the North Wing for their tender, loving care given to our mother over the years.

Edna Mae Cummings, 92 of Wolcottsville NY, went home to be with her Lord on November 25, 2015 at the Brothers of Mercy Rehabilitation & Care Center/Hospice Buffalo. She was born on April 19, 1923 in the town of Royalton, NY and was the youngest daughter of (10) to the late Rose (Handrich) & Rudolph Frisch of Wolcottsville, NY.

Edna was a homemaker, and later a career in food processing with RJR Foods, Inc. in Lockport, NY until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Hunts Corners.

She was the wife of the late Leverne E. Cummings, who died February 8, 1996.

She is survived by one sister, Ruth Harold (97) of Medina, NY and 6 children, Dale (Rebecca) Cummings, Larry (Linda) Cummings, Clifford (Marilyn) Cummings, Jack (Roberta) Cummings, Gloria Cummings, and Claudia (Timothy) Hurne. Edna was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Eugene A. Eick, age 87, of Middleport, entered into rest on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born February 4, 1929 in the Town of Royalton, NY, he is the son of the late Loren and Lydia (Wruck-Frisch) Eick.
He worked at Harrison Radiator in skilled trades for many years. Gene served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Dolores Harch December 29, 1948 at St. Michaels in Wolcottsville. They have been married 67 years. Eugene has lived in the Middleport area all of his life. Eugene enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a lifelong member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Middleport. Gene was a member of the local RC Club and enjoyed building and flying remote controlled airplanes. Eugene won the Golden Hammer Award from Motor Trend Magazine for hand built custom made sport car. He also enjoyed working around the house.
Surviving is his loving wife, Dolores J. (Harch) Eick; and daughter, Debra (Dr. Mark) Perry of Lewiston.
Also surviving Eugene are his grandson, Bryan (Amy) Perry of Grand Island, Doctors Gregory (Melissa) Perry of Cohoes, NY, and Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Perry of Ransomville. Great-grandfather of Carter and Aria, and Oliver and Emma. Brother of Gary (Peggy) Eick of Gasport and the late David and Gerri (Harch) Eick. Several nieces and nephews also survive Eugene.

LOCKPORT — Edward W. Schultz, of Gasport, passed away Friday evening, March 15, 2013, at Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, NY.

Mr. Schultz was born in Medina, NY on August 7, 1940, son of the late Walter and Alice Schultz.

Mr. Schultz had lived in the Gasport area all of his life and was a graduate of Royalton-Hartland High School. He and his wife, Marjorie Schultz, were married June 27, 1970, and she predeceased him on May 10, 2010.

Mr. Schultz was employed as a machine operator for Associated Brands in Medina, NY and he enjoyed building crafts, his dogs and he also enjoyed watching hockey.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Paul (Karrie) Foster of Lockport, Brian (Norma Jean) Foster and Jeffrey (Debi) Foster, all of Medina; eight step-grandchildren and nine step-great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Dorothy Levan of Medina; his nieces and nephews, Doug and Sharon Levan, Althea and Charlie Jurs, all of Medina, Kathy Kelsey of Newfane, Nancy Bellamy of Middleport, Kevin Levan of Albion, Joanne Levan of Topeka, KS, and several other nieces and nephews.

Gary Taylor Obituary

On December 15, 2023, Gary W. Taylor, age 80 entered eternal rest peacefully after a short illness. Gary was born on February 7, 1943, in Medina NY to the late Franklin and Helen Taylor. He grew up in Lyndonville/Medina and resided much of his life in the towns of Newfane and Lockport. Gary was a truck driver by trade and was always looking for the next business adventure. He was an independent truck owner/operator, had a limousine service, and dabbled in the used furniture business. He retired from the New York State Highway Department in 2000. Gary loved the outdoors, fishing, car racing and especially his pets. Gary was predeceased by his brother Roger Taylor. Gary leaves behind the following: his daughter Tracy (Duncan) Lattanzio, his son Adam Taylor; His grandchildren: Nicholas Seaver, Preston (Melissa) Seaver, Shelby Seaver, Colton (Caseylynn) Seaver, Evan (Bristyl) Taylor, Ella Taylor, and Easton Taylor; His great-grandchildren, Zoey, Iris, and Aspen Seaver; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be planned for a future date in 2024.

Genevieve E. Nelson passed away March 26, 2022 in Northgate Manor. Born November 23, 1933 in Medina, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Dorothy (Payne) Toussaint and, step-daughter to the late Mary Toussaint.
Genevieve worked for Niagara County as a secretary at Mount View Health Care Facility and the Department of Public Works until her retirement in 1991. She was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church where she belonged to the Altar Guild and the Vestry. Genevieve loved her family more than life itself. She loved taking care of her family and golfing with friends. Her family was the most important part of her life.
Genevieve was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Nelson, Sr., on April 11, 2007; and her brother, Richard Toussaint. She is survived by her loving son, Robert J. (Diane) Nelson, Jr.; cherished grandchildren, Nadine (Eric) Speer, Carly (Terry Smith) Nelson, and Robert J. (Amanda) Nelson III; beloved great-grandchildren, Brock R. Speer, Natalie L. Smith, Jordan Smith, Jayden Smith, Ryan J. Nelson, and Jonathan Cifelli; sister-in-law, Marion Toussaint; several nieces and cousins.

(MIDDLEPORT) Phillip Michael “Mike” McCabe, passed away peacefully July 11, 2023. He was born August 16, 1955 in Middleport to Phillip and Arlene McCabe.
After high school, Mike served the United States as a member of the Air Force serving from 1974-1977 as a Telecommunications System Specialist. In 1985, he married the love of his life; Therese Antonucci. Mike was a life member of the Middleport Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Clute Phillips American Legion Post 438, serving as Commander for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mike was also a life-long Buffalo Bills fan. Mr. McCabe was predeceased by his wife Therese in 2017, as well as his father Phillip, mother Arlene, sister Barbara, daughter Nicole and In-laws: Julius and Josephine Antonucci.
He is survived by his Brothers in Law: Gerald (Joy) Antonucci, Frank Antonucci, nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Russell) Wells of FL, Jeffery (Amanda) Antonucci of FL, Dylan (Courtney Burch) Parker of Medina, a close friend: Wendy London, his special companion “Nala” as well as several other cousins and many friends.
