NIAGARA FALLS — June E. (Scott) Misener, age 81, was called peacefully to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Niagara Hospice House, Town of Lockport, with her loving family at her side. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, on June 1, 1929, to the late Marion and Marjorie (Schwartz) Scott. She was united in marriage to Robert Misener on April 3, 1948.

Their marriage was blessed with three children, Marsha (Robert) Forsey of Bergholz, Debbie (James) Retzlaff of Burt, NY and Scott (Carol) Misener of Albany, NY. Blessings continued with six grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Merz, Beth (Kevin) Henderson, Harmony (Jeff) Hurtgam, Matthew Retzlaff, Jaret and Cody Misener; and seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Benjamin, Lauren, Abigail, Nathan, Amaya and Zachary.

June graduated from Niagara Falls High School and was a long time member of the former Sanborn Baptist Church. She was employed at the Allstate Insurance Company, and Carborundum Abrasives for many years. June was a free spirited artist and loved spending quality time with her family and friends.

In addition, she is survived by a brother, Lowel (Henrietta) Scott of East Aurora, NY; and a brother- in-law, Gordon Misener. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert on May 8, 2002; and a sister, Rosalie Scott.

Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield on Sunday from 12 noon - 3:00 PM. The Rev. Philip N. Sallach will conduct services at 3:00 PM in the funeral home, following visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
