OLCOTT-Mrs. Flora Mae
Phipps, 69, of 5177 Lockport-
Olcott Road, this community,
died today (Feb. 10, 1964) at
her home.
Born Aug. 30 1894, in Chippawa,
Ont., she was the daughter
of Harvey and Elizabeth
Parker Beach.
She and her husband, Roy
Phipps, were married Dec. 17,
1914 in Lockport. She was a
resident of Olcott for 50 years,
Mrs. Phipps and her husband
operated a service station and
grocery for 30 years.
She Was a member of the
Business and Professional
Women's Club of Newfane,
the Olcott Ladies Community
Auxiliary, the American Legion
Auxiliary of Post No. 873,
Newfane, and a past, matron
of the*Newfane Chapter No.
743 of the Order of Eastern
Star.
Besides her husband, she is
survived by a son, Le Roy
Phipps, this community; three
sisters; Mrs. Clyde (Alice)
Nelson, Wilson, Mrs. Nelson
(Florence) Houck, Mrs. Kenneth
(Grace) Woolcutt, Niagara
Falls; four grandchildren
and several nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services will, be
conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday
at the Phipps home
by Rev. Phillip W. Mitchell,
of the Olcott Methodist
Church. B u r i a l will be in
Lakeview Cemetery, this community.

LeRoy G. Phipps 
Of Olcott, NY husband of Shirley Buncy Phipps entered into rest on Friday February 3, 2017 at Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 10, 1931, the son of the late Roy and Florence Beach Phipps. LeRoy served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a plumber for Local 129. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and was a Boston Red Sox fan. LeRoy was a past Master of the Newfane Masonic Lodge and a lifetime member of Olcott Fire Co. Father of Benjamin Phipps of North Carolina, Diane (Richard) Eberhart of Newfane, Matthew (Lucille) Phipps of Lockport, James (Kathleen) Phipps of Lockport and Daniel G. Phipps of Newfane. Brother of the late Harold Phipps. Grandfather of Andrew (Jessica) Phipps, Jeffrey (Kerry Ann) Phipps, Angela (Brian) Gunby, Bobby (Kristin) Eberhart, Chris (Bri Nelson) Eberhart, Meghan (Jason Ritz) Phipps, Rachael (Jason Zayac) Phipps, Roy, James (Shaunna) Jr., Jason ( Meaghan) Phipps and Justin (Andrea) Phipps. Also survived by 13 great grandchildren. Family and friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY on MONDAY from 3 - 8PM.
