Theodore F. Buck, 67, of 27.01 Welch Ave., owner
of Bucky's Bowling Lanes and an active bowler
himself, died Sunday (July 30, 1967) in Memorial
Hospital,
Mr. Buck, a native of Berg
holtz, had lived in the city for
the last'60 years. He was employed
by Moore Business
Forms for 40 years, and retired
in 1954 as planning department
head. After his retirement,
he p u r c h a s e d
Kajfacz Bowling Lanes and
operated it as Bucky's Lanes,
2701 Welch Ave., until his
death.
Mr. Buck was a former
member of the Elks and of the
Loyal Order of Moose.
Survivors include a son,
Raymond E. Buck; a daughter,
Mrs. Lee (Lucile Jane)
Bickford; a brother, William
Buck; seven grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren,
all of this city.
His wife, the former Helen
Marcklinger, died in 1963.
Funeral services will be held
at the Rhoney Funeral Home
at 8:1.5 a.m. Wednesday and
at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart
Church. Burial will be in Gate
of Heaven Cemetery.

Obituary of Arlene Jerla

Arlene L. Jerla, age 85 of Wilson, died Sunday October 1, 2017 in the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Facility in Lockport, after a brief illness.
Arlene was born July 10, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Glynn and Emma (Buck) Wilson. Her mother, Emma, died when she was 6 years old and she was raised by her step mother, the late Mildred (Julius) Wilson. Arlene was a 1950 graduate of Youngstown High School and received an Associate's Degree from Cherry Valley School of Business. She was employed as a Billing Clerk by Mt. St. Mary's Hospital for 22 years. On November 28, 1953 she married Henry C. Jerla and they have resided in Wilson since 1961.
Arlene enjoyed reading, crocheting, and using her computer. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Henry; a son, Glynn (Patricia) Jerla of Lockport; a daughter, Karen (Duane) Runge of Wilson; her grandchildren, Brandon (Devon) Jerla, Eric and Andrew Runge ; three great grandsons; a brother, Harold "Sonny" (Marlene) Westcott; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Joshua Jerla; a sister, Lois Gombert; and a step sister, Ruth Wilson.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 4, at 11:00 AM in the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson. Lois L. Gombert, age 86, of Ransomville, passed away peacefully in her home under the loving care of her family on Saturday, May 27, 2017.

Lois was born October 18, 1930 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Glynn and Emma (Buck) Wilson, and Mildred (Julius) Wilson. Emma passed away when Lois was six years old. Lois was a graduate of Youngstown High School. On July 23, 1955 she married Irwin R. Gombert and they moved to Ransomville. Lois was employed by the Billing Department of Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston for 14 years, retiring in 1993.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Youngstown where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Altar Guild. Lois also sang with the "Lewiston Larks." She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and of the Lewiston Senior Center, where she enjoyed traveling with the Senior Group. She also served as a Niagara County Election Inspector for many years. Lois loved needlepoint and crocheting, and made many knit hats for infants for the Knitting for Women Organization.

Her husband, Irwin, predeceased her in 1996. She is survived by her sons: Bruce (Kelley) Gombert of Ransomville, and Barry (Nancy) Gombert of Rochester, NY; her grandchildren: Carolyn, Elizabeth, George, Karly, and Bryce Gombert; a sister, Arlene (Henry) Jerla of Wilson; and a brother, Harold "Sonny" (Marlene) Westcott of Arkansas. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Molly Gombert, and a sister, Ruth (late Tower) Wilson.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 3, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 420 Lockport St., Youngstown, 14174, with the Rev. Richard Blemaster officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will follow in the North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria. Nancy J. Martinez, 78, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Jane (Buck) Bickford; and the beloved wife of Angel Martinez who she married on April 28, 1971 at St. Albert the Great Church in Tonawanda, NY.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She was employed as a cashier for many years at the former Hills/Ames Department Store.
Nancy was a devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. John de Lasalle Church where she volunteered daily. She also enjoyed volunteering at 66th Street School for many years, and was a former Cub Scout Leader.
Nancy and her husband, Angel, loved to travel throughout the world including Hawaii, England, Ireland and Portugal. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, but above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband of 50 years, Nancy is survived by her two sons, David Martinez and Adam Martinez; her cherished granddaughter, Isabel “Izzy” Martinez; two sisters, Kathy (Chris) Cosgrove and Tricia Bickford, her beloved niece, Mikki Koralewski and beloved cousin, Danny Bickford; her brothers-in-law, Santos Martinez, Richard Martinez and Robert Martinez; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Visitation will be on Thursday, October 7 from 3 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Friday at 9:15 AM followed by Nancy’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. John De LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
