    Donald A. Donner, age 80, of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by family. Don was a former employee of the St. Laurent Packaging Corp., he had also worked for Hubman Cement Vault and Durez. He was a 59 year member and former Chief of the St. Johnsburg Fire Company. He was a life member of the W.N.Y. Volunteer Fireman’s Association and a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Don operated a vegetable stand on Ward Rd. for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beloved husband of Carol (Jagow) Donner. Dear father of Richard (Cathleen) Donner and the late Beth Donner-Schlamann. Grandfather of Andrew (Jessi) Donner, James (Corinna) Donner and Adam “Boo” (Shawna Rae) Donner. Great-grandfather of Avmarie, Alliana, Brady, Calimarie, and Mikey. Brother of Ruth Fry, Barb Plottner, Marjorie Bernhard, and the late Judy Grandley; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Sunday from 1 – 5 PM. Funeral Services will be held from St. John Lutheran Church, 6950 Ward Rd, in the Town of Wheatfield on Sunday at 6:00 PM. If so desired memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, the St. Johnsburg Fire Co., or Niagara Hospice. Condolences may be shared at FrettholdFuneralHome.com
