RANSOMVILLE, Sept. 2-Frank
Zahno, a native and lifelong resident
of the Town of Porter, died
today at his home,. North Lake
street, after a prolonged-illness.
Mr. Zahno was born in the Town
of Porter and was a farmer until
his retirement several years ago.
He was a member of St. Peter's
Lutheran church, North Ridge.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Edith Zahno, four sons, Franklin.,
Thomas and Glenn Zahno, all of
Ransomville, and Edward Zahno,
Niagara Falls; two daughters, Mrs.
Fred Widmer and Mrs. Wallace
Schultz, both of Lewiston;
brother, Henry Zahno, Buffalo, 17
grandchildren and one great grand-
child.
Funeral services will be held at
the Zahno home Friday at 2 p.m.
and at 2:30 o'clock at St. Peter's
church, with the Rev. Carl Oldach
officiating. Interment will be in
North Ridge cemetery.

Edna G. Schultz, 86, died Monday (Feb. 3, 1997) in her Porter Center Road home after a long illness.
Born in Porter, the former Edna Zahno lived in Ransomville for the past 54 years.
Mrs. Schultz was a member of the Newfane Golden Agers and St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge in Cambria.
She enjoyed quilting.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Wallace F.; two sons, Gary and Marvin; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Peter's Lutheran Church at North Ridge, 4169 Church Road, Cambria. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria.

Randall T. “Randy” Zahno, age 80, of Ransomville husband of the late Janice Nye Zahno died Thursday, February 6, 2020 at his home in Ransomville. He was on born August 6, 1939 in Lockport, NY. He is the son of the late Thomas and the late Garnet Demmin Zahno. Randy married Janice A. Nye on August 1, 1964 she predeceased him on January 28, 2003. Randy was employed by NYS Parks and Recreation retiring after 30 years. Randy had a passion for John Deere tractors, he loved growing and selling produce at his roadside stand where he served the community for many years, he also enjoyed going to the Amish auctions and auctions in general. Randy is survived by two daughters; Camille Zahno of Odenton, MD and Tricia (Sean) Dzierzanowski of Ransomville; a sister Gayle (Late Fred) Butz, his grandchildren, Amber Racette, Kendall Dzierzanowski and Tyler McEvoy also surviving is a great grandchild, Landon Racette. Arnold P. “Arnie” Widmer, age 81, of Ransomville, died Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Buffalo General Medical Center in Buffalo, Ny. Arnie was born on January 31, 1941, in Niagara Falls, NY. He is the son of the late Frederick and the late Lillian (Zahno) Widmer. Arnie graduated from Lew-Port CSD in 1959. He enjoyed snowmobiling, stock car racing, hunting, fishing, and helping out Don McGinnis Racing.He served in the U.S Army from 1963 to 1965 and was employed by Washington Mills in Niagara Falls, NY as a Millwright for 37 years retiring in 2002. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.No services will be held. LEWISTON — Gary W. Schultz, age 71, formerly of Porter Center Rd. in Lewiston, died on Saturday, September 1, 2012 in the Treasure Coast Hospice in Ft. Pierce, FL, after a lengthy illness. Gary was born on April 10. 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Wallace F. and Edna G. (Zahno) Schultz and was a 1959 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School.

He married Gladys Jeanette (Hlavenka) Schultz on June 1, 1963 and they lived in the Town of Porter until moving to Port St. Lucie, FL, 11 years ago. Gary was a Sales Service Manager, employed by Stone Container Co. in Wheatfield, for 45 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Peter's RC Church in Lewiston and of St. Bernadette RC Church in Port St. Lucie. Gary was also a former member and an Exempt Member of the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Co. # 1. He enjoyed farming.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Jeanette Schultz of Port St. Lucie, FL; his children, Lora (Joe) Kolmer of Kenmore, WA and Michael Schultz of Niagara Falls, NY; his grandchildren, Nathan and Evan Schultz, Shea and Naomi Kolmer; a brother, Marvin Schultz of Ransomville; his mother-in-law, Germaine Hlavenka of Niagara Falls, NY; a brother-in-law, Joseph Hlavenka of Los Angeles, CA; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lynn Marie Schultz and a brother, Gordon Schultz.

LEWISTON — Larry E. Zahno, age 68, of Lewiston, died on Monday, August 19, 2013 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a brief illness.

Larry was born May 4, 1945 in Ransomville, the son of the late Glenn H. and Dolores May (Bisher) Zahno. He attended Lewiston Porter High School and was a lifelong area resident. He married Patricia (DeLill) Zahno on May 24, 1969. Larry owned and operated Larry Zahno Trucking for 30 years, hauling produce for local farmers, fertilizer and logs. He then worked as a truck driver for Modern Disposal for a number of years before establishing an auto repair shop in Ransomville, which he had operated the last 12 years.

Larry loved camping and NASCAR. He had enjoyed drag racing at the Niagara Dragway, spending time at the casino and being with people and working.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; a son, Daniel (Stacey) Zahno of Ransomville; his grand- daughters, Lauren and Leah; a sister, Rita (late Jim) Rohring of Wilson; two brothers, Glenn H. (Suzanne) Zahno, Jr. of Ransomville and Wayne Zahno of Niagara Falls, NY; his sisters-in-law, Carol Burmaster, Michelle Figura and Mary Jo (Joe) Laduca; and several nieces and nephews.
