Despite efforts of a Fire Department
inhalator squad to revive
him. Joseph Watroba, 45, a World
War II veteran, died yesterday
(Aug. 28. 1955) at his home. 1950
Welch Ave. Cause of death was
listed as a heart attack.
Firemen spent 25 minutes administering
oxygen before he was
pronounced dead.
Mr. Watroba, who had been employed
at the Achcson Graphite
plant of National Carbon Co. for
14 years was a native of this city.
He served overseas in the European
Theater during World War II with
the 101st Airborne Division. He
participated in the Battle of the
Bulge.
He was a member of the Acheson
Athletic Assn.
Surviving are his father and
mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Watroba,
this city; his wife, Mrs. Margaret
Watroba; three sisters, Mrs.
Stcphania Banks. Mrs. William
Bialik and Mrs. Bernice Petlowski,
all of this city, and four brothers,
Stanley Watroba, Mathew Watroba,
and Bruno Watroba, all of this
city, and William Watroba of Canandaigua.
He is also survived by
several nieves and nephews.
Funeral services will be. held at
the Tubinis Funeral Home, Wednesday
at 9:30; a.m. and at 10 a.m.
at Holy Trinity Church. Interment
will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Bruno Watroba

LEWISTON — Bruno Watroba, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Warczak) Watroba.

Bruno was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY, and attended local schools. He enlisted in the United States Navy during World War serving as a Coxswain from December 4, 1942, until his honorable discharge on November 30, 1945. Bruno was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, American Campaign Medal and European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon. On August 2, 1947, he married Anna (Valenti) Watroba in Niagara Falls, NY. For 32 years, Bruno worked at the former Isco Chemical Co., which later became International Minerals and Chemical in Niagara Falls, until the plant's closing. He went on to work at Presto Lite Company, also in Niagara Falls, for 20 years until retiring in 1986. Bruno enjoyed spending time outdoors admiring nature and especially loved fishing with his wife, Anna.

Mr. Watroba is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anna Watroba. He was also predeceased by three sisters, Stephania (late Peter) Banks, Jeannie (late William) Bialik and Bernice (late Stanley) Peplowski; four brothers, Joseph Watroba, Stanley (late Jennifer) Watroba, William Watroba and Matthew Watroba. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Josephine (Malcolm) Vittie of Niagara Falls, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-7 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 468-19th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Monday, April 23rd at 11:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Interment with military honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. NIAGARA FALLS — Stanley Michael "Sonny" Watroba, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on Monday, December 3, 2012 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in Niagara Falls, NY, following a lengthy illness. Born on March 30, 1935 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Stanley and Genevieve (Zauczkowski) Watroba.

Mr. Watroba attended local schools and graduated from the former Bishop Duffy High School. Sonny, as he was known by family and friends, was employed as a printer for the Niagara Gazette. He then moved to Florida and worked for the Fort Lauderdale News/Sun Sentinel, until his retirement in the late 1990s. Mr. Watroba came back to Niagara Falls, NY in the early 2000s. Sonny enjoyed collecting as a hobby.

Mr. Watroba is survived by three children, Gregory M. (Carla) Watroba of Los Angeles, CA; Thomas S. (Lisa) Watroba of the Town of Niagara NY; and Diane M. (Thomas) Broeker of La Vergne, TN; and was predeceased by one son, Michael Watroba. Sonny is also survived by four grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Goupil of Niagara Falls, NY and Dolores (William) Stone of Niagara Falls, NY; his former wife, Barbara (nee Halleen) (late Michael) Ford of Smyrna, TN; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and son, he was also predeceased by one brother, Joseph (Carol of Lewiston, NY) Watroba.

There will be no prior visitation. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. LEWISTON — Joseph Watroba, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on March 31, 1936, the son of the late Stanley and Genevieve (Zauczkowski) Watroba.

Mr. Watroba served with the Army National Guard, 336th Artillery Brigade at the Niagara Falls Armory. He was employed at the Prestolite Corporation, for over 34 years, before retiring in 1998. Mr. Watroba served as Past President of the UAW Local # 2571.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on home improvements, bowling, watching NASCAR, sporting events and horse racing.

Mr. Watroba is survived by his wife Carol M. (Kimmes) Watroba, they were married on September 25, 1965; one son, Joseph F. (Kimi) Watroba of Niagara Falls, NY; two daughter, Martina Hagar of Lewiston, NY and Cynda Watroba of Alexandra, NY; four grandchildren, Brittany, Joseph, Charles and Corrine; one great-granddaughter, Ava; one brother, Stanley Watroba; two sisters, Dolores (William) Stone and Patricia Goupil, all of Niagara Falls, NY; also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Jennifer Watroba.

The family will be present on Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY, with the Rev. Patricia A. (Watroba) Goupil, 74, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, surrounded by her family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on September 24, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Genevieve (Zauczykowski) Watroba and attended local schools.
She was employed for 17 years as a paralegal for the Small Business Administration until her retirement. Patricia was a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan and loved to garden and home/interior decorating. What Patricia loved most of all was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Sharon (Dave) Tickett, Deborah (James) Thompson, Lori (Angelo) Franjoine, Ronald (Laura) Goupil and Mark Goupil; sister, Dolores (William) Stone; sister- in-law, Carol Watroba; twelve grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and loving companion, her dog, Kirby. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Stanley and Joseph.
Friends may call on Sunday, December 15th from 4-7 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME, INC., 319-24th. St. cor. Dolores E. Stone (Watroba-Delvecchio), age 70 of Plaza Drive, Wheatfield, was called to her heavenly home, after a brief illness, on October 1, 2017 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 23, 1947, daughter of the late Stanley and Genevieve (Zachochowski) Watroba. A graduate of LaSalle High School, and Kelly Business School. Dolores was employed at Tops Markets, Military Road, and retired after 34 years of service. She was known for her love and devotion to her family, as well as her kindness and generosity. Dolores enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren, cooking and hitting the slots at the casino.
Dolores was predeceased by her husband, William J. Stone, and her son, Robert C. Delvecchio. Survivors include three daughters, Denise (Robert) Noworyta, Jeanine (Gregory) Gerbec, and Lisa DeVantier; five grandchildren, Robert and Joshua Noworyta, Nicole and Anthony Gerbec, and Sara DeVantier; and many nieces and nephews.
Also predeceased by her siblings, Stanley Watroba, Joseph Watroba, and Patricia Goupil.
Friends may call at the DuBois Funeral Home, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Thursday (Oct. 5) from 3-7 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Robert Hughson, on Friday (Oct. 6) at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
