    LEWISTON — Bruno Watroba, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Warczak) Watroba.

    Bruno was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY, and attended local schools. He enlisted in the United States Navy during World War serving as a Coxswain from December 4, 1942, until his honorable discharge on November 30, 1945. Bruno was awarded the WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Ribbon, American Campaign Medal and European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon. On August 2, 1947, he married Anna (Valenti) Watroba in Niagara Falls, NY. For 32 years, Bruno worked at the former Isco Chemical Co., which later became International Minerals and Chemical in Niagara Falls, until the plant's closing. He went on to work at Presto Lite Company, also in Niagara Falls, for 20 years until retiring in 1986. Bruno enjoyed spending time outdoors admiring nature and especially loved fishing with his wife, Anna.

    Mr. Watroba is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anna Watroba. He was also predeceased by three sisters, Stephania (late Peter) Banks, Jeannie (late William) Bialik and Bernice (late Stanley) Peplowski; four brothers, Joseph Watroba, Stanley (late Jennifer) Watroba, William Watroba and Matthew Watroba. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Josephine (Malcolm) Vittie of Niagara Falls, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Visitation will be on Sunday from 3-7 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 468-19th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Monday, April 23rd at 11:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. Interment with military honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute Alliance Foundation, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240.
